New stadium for 15 500 people will be constructed in Lublin.

The stadium should be ready in 2013.

Ratusz ogłasza przetarg na stadion.

W pierwszym tygodniu Nowego Roku miasto ogłosi wreszcie przetarg na opracowanie projektu i budowę nowego stadionu w Lublinie. - To inwestycja priorytetowa - podkreśla prezydent Krzysztof Żuk.

Tuż przed końcem 2010 r. pojawiły się niepokojące informacje, że niektórzy miejscy radni chcieliby zabrać część z 15,6 mln złotych przeznaczonych w 2011 r. na budowę stadionu. Radni z komisji gospodarki komunalnej woleliby, aby te pieniądze zostały wydane na przebudowę ul. Zana lub budowę basenu przy ul. Roztocze.

Wiadomo już, że prezydent Krzysztof Żuk przekonał radnych, by zrezygnowali z tych wniosków. - Spotkałem się z radnymi i tłumaczyłem, że budowa stadionu to dla nas przedsięwzięcie priorytetowe - mówi prezydent.

Według Żuka stadion ma znaczenie nie tylko dla sportu. - Jego budowa pomoże także w rewitalizacji doliny Bystrzycy - przekonuje.

W tym tygodniu ratusz ogłosi wreszcie przetarg w trybie "Zaprojektuj i wybuduj", co oznacza, że w jednym postępowaniu miasto chce znaleźć wykonawców i projektu i budowy. Żuk tłumaczy, że urzędnicy musieli przetarg odpowiednio przygotować, dlatego jego ogłoszenie nastąpi dopiero teraz.

- Wcześniej przyglądaliśmy się prowadzeniu takich inwestycji w innych miastach i wykorzystamy know - how z Poznania, czy Białegostoku - wyjaśnia prezydent.

Nie wiadomo jak stadion będzie wyglądał, bo określi to dopiero projekt, natomiast wiemy już gdzie stadion stanie. Według programu opisującego funkcje nowego obiektu, przygotowanego przez toruńską firmę Geotechnica (która opracowała także program do budowy stadionu Motoarena w Toruniu) stadion powstanie blisko Bystrzycy. Od wody będzie go dzielić odległość ok. 50-100 metrów. Tę przestrzeń mają wypełnić drzewa i zieleń nadrzeczna.

Program przewiduje także, że na trybunach zasiądzie 15,5 tys. widzów. Wokół stadionu powstaną parkingi na około 700 samochodów i boiska treningowe. Żuk zapewnia, że w razie potrzeby stadion będzie można rozbudować.

Szacunki wskazują, że budowa stadionu będzie kosztować ok. 150 mln złotych. Połowę tej sumy miasto otrzyma z Unii Europejskiej, resztę musi znaleźć samo. Urzędnicy liczą jednak na to, że architektoniczno-budowlane konsorcja walcząc o prawo do budowy stadionu w Lublinie będą składać konkurencyjne oferty, co pozwoliłoby zmniejszyć koszt budowy, która ma trwać dwa lata. Stadion ma być gotowy w drugiej połowie 2013 roku.

Can I ask, what is with the massive investment in stadia in Poland? I understand the development of football stadia for the Euro's, but it seems like there are various types of stadiums going up everywhere.

The answer is simple: The clubs have to play somewhere and the old existing stadiums were simply very outdated, often with an athletic track around the pitch so they had to be replaced by modern structures.

^^ That's a really good question. Frankly speaking, I don't get it. It seems that for every community in Poland having an aquapark and new stadium/arena is kind of obligatory these days. ;) Let's hope that next to build in every of those communities it's gonna be something really useful.

The answer is simple: The clubs have to play somewhere and the old existing stadiums were simply very outdated, often with an athletic track around the pitch so they had to be replaced by modern structures.

Well the clubs have made do with the same structures for years up until now, and now all of a sudden every single club is getting a new stadium - its unprecedented that almost all the clubs in division one of any particular country build new stadiums in the same period. Of course the answer is that none of the existing stadiums weren't up to scratch to stage the UEFA championship, so the mass renovation was essential for both host stadiums and training grounds.

It doesn't however answer the question of why so many indoor stadiums are going up/being renovated at the same time. It seems that so much money is going into funding the football stadiums, that logically there would be little left for the indoor stadiums.

I notice that after successing construction of E2012 stadiums it appear a fashion in the community to bulid some own one. It's also combined with recent change in way of thinking in Polish society about big construction project. From pesymistic "Why to bulid? For sure it take 10 years and probably ain't finished, and hooligan break it. They should give this moeny to poor" and so on, to more optimistic "We want and we can make to be like Western Europe".

The Arka stadium is looking fantastic. Perfect size for that club for sure. In terms of the stadium boom it'll be a while before we see another wave like that (if ever). It's incredible how suddenly so many cities have decided to go ahead and build new stadiums. I just wish Szczecin and Lodz would get off their asses to join the club.

Can I ask, what is with the massive investment in stadia in Poland? I understand the development of football stadia for the Euro's, but it seems like there are various types of stadiums going up everywhere.

Strong economy. People willing to spend more $ on Sports, both fans and people running the show.

All one needs to do is maintain it properly and renovate if required. Building a new stadium every 30-40 years is irresponsible and financially destructive (which is why no one does or will be doing it). Look at grounds like Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford...

No, but you're right, most clubs can afford to put down 300-400 million every few decades on new stadiums. :|

Standards of stadiums will get better every year, but what on earth does that have to do with clubs which have recently built stadiums? You can only build whats available to you; but what's available to you presently is more than enough to have a comfortable and fan friendly stadium for the next century, with proper upkeep.

Have you ever been to Poland? No?
Stadiums built in Poland 40-30 years ago weren't up to date even when they were constructed. For example - Widzew Stadium http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadion_Widzewa_%C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA
This team is one of the biggest in country (leading, very popular club in 3th largest city). As you can see it is as up to date as castles are.

Capacity comparison - 10.500 vs 35.000. That says everything.

I see that the two clubs Arka Gdynia and Cracovia Kraków standing 15th and 16th in the Polish Ekstraklasa, so in a relegation place. That is a pity because both have a beautiful

One correction to the DocentX's list.

The really nice design for Sosnowiec's Stadion Ludowy made by Dutch Zwarts&Jaansma has been scrapped. New initial design has been done by Polish studio APAKA, the ones that designed Bialystok.

The Centennial Hall (German: Jahrhunderthalle, Polish: Hala Stulecia (formerly Hala Ludowa - People's Hall)) is a historic building in Wrocław, Poland. It was constructed according to the plans of architect Max Berg in 1911–1913.

Repair of the Pergola

Apart from cleaning the concrete, repair works strengthened the structural elements of the colonnade that surrounds the pond and the fountain.

Underground Parking Facility

By 2012, the current parking lot will be converted into an underground parking facility for almost 800 cars. The new facility will also provide a VIP area and parking places for busses.

Well, maybe it seems so but it isn't ;) Just few days ago they have started the most dangerous and difficult part of the whole thing, so-called big lift. It will last two weeks.

Dzisiaj ok 10. Teraz już powiesili całkiem sporą powierzchnię, ale nadal trudno stwierdzić jaki będzie ogólny kolor bo rusztowania mocno zaciemniają.

Krakow arena under construction :

Byłem dzisiaj przyglądnąć się budowie. W porównaniu do mojej ostatniej fotorelacji nic się nie zmieniło oprócz większej ilości panów w kaskach i seledynowych kamizelkach. Ewidentnie czekali na decyzję Rady Miasta. Myślę, że budowa ruszy z kopyta skoro kredyt jest już na 100% zapewniony.
