Have international tourists discovered Eureka yet? Or are they still mainly at Rialto?

Still mainly Rialto I think, because all of the tourist documentation still says Rialto. But it's changing.

I went there a week or so ago and I reckon most of the people there were foreigners, just going by the accents and different languages I could hear as I walked around. It's nice watching the sun go down from up there are seeing all the lights slowly switch on. Be spectacular during Summer and Autumn i think.

The reflections on the glass are bad though :(

Thats right.. cause the Eureka Skydeck view pales into insignificance compared to views you would see in Adelaide from... ummm ... Oh yes Rundle Malls Renaissance Tower.. lol..

How could you not be impressed?!?.. :wtf:

Maybe he was expecting something like Sky Tower in Auckland where you can jump off the tower? Or maybe he wanted a Stratosphere Las Vegas Tower experience, you know with a few theme park rides at the top lol

Had to live in Adelaide on business for a couple of years - that's 2 years I will never get back so I'll swap you your 45 minutes yeah?

No, I just found it really disappointing that the reflection blocked out a lot of the view. It was a cloudy, wet day so the lights on the inside really reflected.

It wasn't that bad, I just wish I went up to Rialto instead.

IMO the views are awesome, but the reflections really let it down. I went in late afternoon and stayed til after it was dark and it gets quite bad. The scrolling writing and the light projectors things shine all over the windows that it can be quite difficult to see out. I'd imagine the best time to go would probably be early morning when it opens.

Then why didn't you just leave? You don't have to stay for 45 minutes, they don't lock the doors or anything!

Pardon my ignorance but why is it that the glare in Eureka's obs deck is more evident that that of say Q1 or Rialto ? Is it because of the 'gold glass' ?
I wonder if the administrators of Eureka's deck are aware of this fact and of the visitors' concerns and if there's anything that could be done to reduce the glare?

Then I'd have no right in criticising the Skydeck, having spent so little time up there.

Would be intrested in that too. As it appears to be a common complaint here.

It does sound like the gold tint has a negative effect on ob deck viewing behind.
something engineers should have sorted out before hand.
Sydney tower has gold tint but has none reflective panels for taking photos out of.Also the windows are angled towards you which is perfect for viewing.but you still get reflectivity day or night.

I don't think it's the gold glass specifically, although when you are up there you do notice a difference in the tinting of the different glass. IMO the main problem is that the deck is filled with light projectors, scrolling LED displays and so on that are all get reflected. I think if the deck was more dimly lit with lights that didn't shine directly on to the glass it would be beneficial.

Nooooo Hayds !!! I don't know why I haven't thought of this before.???? Why not put an open deck up above the roof..on stilts above the window cleaning track..slightly in from the sides so the railing can be at waist height with no need for mesh etc.....it's not only possible..It's been done before on top of the NY, WTC (rip) It would be amazing...They wouldn't lose out with the 'Edge' as it still caters for the view straight down..bring it on!!!! Plus weld it to the buildings structure solidly so the finished structural height is just over 300m...It seems so crap that it slips just under that nice round figure.
