A meaningfull shape stripped of it's meaning and copied with the plainest modern building materials in a pathetic attempt to stun.......well who will be stunned by this, actually ? I'm not even stunned at the bad taste it expresses, cause the USA already has much more poignant examples of that.

I do like the idea
I would like to see a steeper angle of rise to give more height
But then that differs from the style
As a buidling very plain glass and few features. Base has nothing much going for it apart from a few low entrances.

The Luxor looks stunning at night when it is all lit up but only the americans can take great classics and slap a neon light or hotel sign on them . Latest tasteless example of this being The Venetian hotel .Tacky tacky tacky !

However, I will say, I don't really buy into the argument that this is in bad taste because it "copies" the pyramids in Egypt. I understand how iconic the Egyptian pyramids are, and how much historical value the image carries but that should not necessarily dictate how we continue to build. For instance, I think the former WTC towers in NYC, as well as the AON Center in Chicago are beautiful and iconic in their own right. Does that mean we should no longer build box-shaped skyscrapers? The Swiss Re tower is iconic; should we retire the egg-shape for towers?
