I did ask the interviewer what post is best for me to apply. They told me account executive or maybe accounts clerk would be suitable. But the pay for accounts clerk is actually too low. So, I hope I will not get that.
Nope, I didn't use Gordon.I use my name , Kwok Chean.

There r only 2 rating of Holiday Inn world wide. They r either 5 star holiday inns or 4 star rating.
This holiday inn in malacca is internationally rated 4 star hotel. But with malaysia or melaka standard, it could be a 5 star hotel. That's d reason holiday inn melaka is applying for a 5 star rating in melaka. If successful, it will b the 3rd 5 star hotel in melaka.

I've asked my fren and i was told that fresh grad hardly get executive level. They prefer to take those with experiences. But they hav not chosen or shorlisted candidates for accounts exe post yet.

I think it's appropriate to extend and combine the jetty with the hotel as this gives better access to the hotel visitors. :)

A fresh face from a familiar place

Jalan Melaka Raya: The first purpose built international hotel Melaka which has seen for over 10 years will be open on Monday 1st October, 2007. Heralding a new era in style and trend, the MYR68million Holiday Inn Melaka, rises 20 stories high above Jalan Syed Abdul Aziz and is already a landmark hotel in the heart of the city.

The arrival of the Holiday Inn name in Melaka – one of the world’s strongest and most widely recognised hotel brands – will strengthen the city’s profile with international visitors who seek familiar leisure and business brands when traveling away from home.

The city’s latest hotel is strategically position adjacent to the city’s main shopping complexes and just a short walk to neighbouring historic attractions such as The Stadthuys, St Peters Church and Jonker street to name a few. Holiday Inn Melaka also commands an unrivalled view of the picturesque Straits of Melaka, a view that will appeal to both the corporate and leisure markets.

Reflecting a strong commitment to good design, the property has been meticulously planned to offer stylish, relaxed comfort with all rooms capturing plenty of light and expansive views. The 275 guest rooms range from deluxe rooms through to kid’s suites, four floors of executive club rooms, ten suites and at the top of the building, a presidential suite which are all furnished with modern fittings, bold contemporary fabrics and deep comfortable beds smothered in pillows, cushions and throws.

All rooms feature either king size, queen size or two king single beds and offer amenities such as high-speed broadband (the fastest in Melaka), flat screen LCD TV’s, minibar, double glazed windows, complimentary tea/coffee making facilities and in-room safes to name but a few.

These innovative concepts are the brainchild of leading Malaysia Property Company Hean Yi Holding Sdn Bhd Developments, who also designed, constructed and own the 235-room Holiday Inn Resort Batam, located in Waterfront City on Batam Island, Indonesia.

With this, it explains why Holiday Inn Melaka is the capital’s only hotel to offer a Peranakan inspired Spa and an infinity edge pool overlooking the Straits of Melaka. On the ground floor is Sirocco, a relaxed Mediterranean style restaurant with the best wood fire pizza served in the city. Opening onto an alfresco area – again unusual for a Melaka hotel – Sirocco is set to rapidly become one of the city’s landmarks with its classic retro-chic interior and vibrant menu.

Stretching across the second floor is a collection of five conference and meeting rooms, all with floor to ceiling windows to allow for natural light – another unusual feature in a central city hotel.

The Straits Ballroom provides 836 square meters of pillar-less floor space, 6 metre high ceilings and is equipped with the latest technology, including four ceiling mounted data projectors and huge resident screens. The Straits Ballroom will provide an ideal space for a range of function requirements; from seminars, board meetings and exhibitions to wedding banquets and private celebrations catering up to 800 persons.

Holiday Inn Melaka General Manager Damian ten Bohmer says: “This is where the modern world meets historic Melaka, expect to see and experience the very best in Holiday Inn service and hospitality when you visit Holiday Inn Melaka”.

there's going to be a soft opening this 20th Sept. Everything is high tech in Holiday Inn. They r the 1st n the only one in malacca to use LCD TV for all their rooms. Even for function rooms/banquet hall, they don use info board, but they use digital LCD signboard which is really expensive.
