I am curious to see what One Main Street tower would looks like.

A while ago, I read that City of Bellevue officals are considering to re-name Main Street to Rodeo Drive to attract upscale bonqiues on this street. They might have to rename this tower if the officals decide to go ahead to change the street name.

I hope they don't change the name of the street. Personally when someone says "Main Street" I think more of the small local shops located there. I don't want "upscale" to locate in this area.

Mmm in my opinion, "Main Street" is just too boring and smalltown America for Bellevue. It just doesn't fit bellevue's image of class and luxury. So I'm with the city on renaming it if they do.

But why steal Rodeo Dr. from beverly hills? Bellevue shouldn't resort to doing that. They should be more original and create their own iconic street names. How about Sebastian Street, Arborra Drive, or Circus Drive? It will have the same effect without stealing the Rodeo name... which rightfully only belongs in beverly hills. Now I feel like writing the city a letter to make sure they don't rename it to rodeo!!!

I like "Main Street" for that exact reason -- it's a different feel than the shiny high-rise section of Bellevue. It has a little bit of nostalgia. While much of it has been rebuilt, or will be, Main has been a walkable little retail street for probably 50+ years.

I agree. Every city that got upsale area got their own upscale street name. I don't like the idea of the City of Bellevue being copycat of Beverly Hills to rename its main street to Redeo Drive. The City of Bellevue could do better than that to have its own style. That would make Bellevue an unique city with its own style.

They should keep Main st. Its perfect for a small feel for this growing city...Little shops will love to be on a main st. Like it or not there are already a few upscale shops on Main, Developers will make sure of that. I get sick of the remakes of americana everywhere you go....We do not need the Mile...Rodeo Dr, or any other named street that already is big...Make what ever is in Bellevue big on its own. Thats how these places became famous.

I don't know if they should keep Main or not but please(!) do not name it Rodeo. That's just ridiculous and shows a complete lack of identity. Ugh!

Renaming it to Rodeo Drive.....isn't going to make retailers want to locate there anymore. Just looks bad

^^ Retailers don't care about street name. All they care about foot traffics, number of people living in the area, demography, and be near to their competiters. Business is business.

It's not going to be that big of a development. Nine floors. I'm sure you'll get your rendering soon.

It's a good size for the location. Main Street isn't supposed to be highrises.

PS, the DJC had a rendering yesterday.

I wish Bellevue Way had that sort of Main St. feel to it. Main St. is by far my favorite part of Bellevue.

I too am surprised by how tall One Main will be, I know the zoning has been that way for some time, but I think anything over 4-6 stories does not fit in with the 'hood. There are enough tall buildings going up elsewhere, let's keep Main feeling cozy.

That's why it has a setback. I'm ok with it. But I get your point.

I was just checking out their website, and it's actually very nice, you can see what the view will be like from different floors in different directions.
