Thanks Pheonix.I appreciate your effort to portray Palestine in this forum... I didnt know Majda Al-Rommy, Julia Botros, Razan Magrable, Diana Karzon, and Amal Hijazi are of Palesintian origin. Yet, they call themselves Lebanese, which is their home country of course, or Jordanian in the case of Diana Karzon.

No, he is not Palestinian. There are many Palestinians left Palestine pre-1948 to Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and many other countries. Sometime they don't want to consider themselves Palestinian. Because some Arabs hate Palestinians and look at them as 2nd class citizen in the Arab world. Like Diana Karazon is afraid she will lose all her votes if she call herself Palestinian. She keep it secret and call her Jordanian instead. I know her relative originally from Palestine. My mom's friend's husband know her relatives.

I disagree I dont think arabs view palestinians as a lower class or something like that! I am talking for Arabs in The Maghreb for sure! I dont know about the others beside you in the region!

and also I have some friends who are like half-leb half-palestinian! or half-jordanian half-palestenian... yet they're more patriotic of their palestinian heritage...!!

other than that I think arabs like palestinians that's what the conflict with israel become as jew vs. arab! it's because arabs side to palestinians as simple as it sounds!

and last! its cool thread! I hope it's stays clean and It would be good if you make a video of this list and post it on youtube!

Ok let me make it clear. People who was born or raised in different countries have Palestinian background. If you have Polish background and born in Israel that doesn't mean your background is Israeli.

Arafat's parent are originally from Jerusalem and he is a Palestinian. If Arafat's background is an Egyptian, then he is an Egyptian.

I was born and raised in the United States, but my mom and dad both originally from the same religious Christian town north of Ramallah, Palestine. I am a Palestinian-American... Palestinian is for my background and American is for my US citizen or born and raised in the United States.

People that known as Palestinian today are descendants of Canaanites, Judean, Israelites, Arameans, Philistines (Greeks, ) Romans, Crusaders, Turks, Arabs, and other tribes.

Well, I think AzPhoenix was talking about nationals of countries with a considerable Palestinian minority...Moroccans aren't middle-eastern and aren't a part of the conflicts...So of course they're not familiar with the stereotypes.

Back to the topic, I don't know whether you guys know of Ihab Nimer, he's a Christian Arab-Israeli/Israeli of Palestinian origin whose music is very beautiful. He plays with Jewish Israeli musicians frequently.

I am sorry I didn't catch your post. Palestinians refugees don't have equal rights in the Arabs countries. I was reading an article about the UNHCR. For over 4 years, a group of a hundred Palestinian refugees were literally trapped between Iraq and Jordan. Guess who agreed to finally take in these refugees?? None of the Arab countries approached by UNHCR agreed to take any of them. But the Brazil and other Latin countries accept the Palestinian refugees. Thanks Brazil and other Latin countries, because they have actually been better to Palestinians than any other Arab country.

I was born in Israel and I am raised in the US, but according to your logic, I cannot be an Israeli. Even you are admitting that the original Palestinians weren't Muslims by saying all of these cultures. BTW, Jews who stilled in what you call Palestine or around the rest of the Mid East were known as the Mizarachi. Since Israel didn't exist until 1948, then that means that people like Yitzhak Rabin are considered famous Palestinians b/c he was born there in 1922 long before the Israeli War of Independence.

And yes I respect her just cuz of her being a transexual! She did a hard way despite some primitive people like you!She did a revolution at least in Israel and Israel is a first country where a transexual got an official prize from a governemtn and Im really proud of that!I think as whole Israel (88% of israelis supported Dana to represent us in International contest)

a gay or a homosexual is someone who's attracted to the same gender (a man who likes men or a woman who likes women). A transexual is a person who changed their gender through surgery.

Dana's songs are cute and funny and I think she is beautiful as a woman...cool video although I didn't understand it...She was a handsome man too.

its wrong to bring them, cuz most of them are not integrated into israeli society, and Israel just broke their life! They have other laws and they cant live with Israeli laws ,they have very high percent of divorce, high rate of crime, people cant get a basic education, they live in ghettos, with their tradition in which just a man is working u can live in Israel!here both must work!Ethiopian teenagers live like in another country and trying to imitate american africans, they closed some of their neighbourhoods (at least in Netanya) and no one can enter there ,even dont try and be happy if u'll leave the neighbourhood alive (neighbourhoods like Haftsiba and Ezorim in Netanya)
we all know why Israel brought them, more slaves, more people for army! But what Israel doing for helping them?Nothing!!!!!They took them from one civilazation and put them to other!Just imagine it from second side,go to live 1 year in african conditions (btw ethiopian jews lived in poor villages)

As a Lebanese person and fellow Arab Im all for Palestinian ethnicity but here is where I have an issue. When you sit here and say people are of Palestinian origin and they are NOT.
- Majida El Roumi is Lebanese who was born to LEBANESE parents, her father WORKED in Palestine as did my great grandfather back in the day. But at the end of the day he came back home to Lebanon. Majida studied at the University in Cairo, does that make her Egyptian too? her origins are Lebanese.
-Amal Hijazi is also Lebanese, Lebanese Muslim my grandmother from my father's side is from beit Hijazi and she is a distant cousin of ours. Iwan is also full Lebanese Muslim.
- Julia Butros is Lebanese, beit Butros is a big family in Lebanon.
-Nazek Hariri is Jordanian BUT Palestinian origin.
Diana Karazoon is Palestinian and it is KNOWN that she is Palestinian, as u said Palestinians have to "hide" their identities, that not true so please stop lying.
- Razan Maghrabee is also LEBANESE again why are u lying I wonder how bad would these people laugh if they knew u were making up their origins. You would think they knew their ancestry better than some random person.
-Nadine Salameh is Palestinian
-Casey Kasem is LEBANESE!! he has said it himself numerous times.
-John H Sununu and his son John E Sununu are LEBANESE John H's father is LEBANESE MARONITE Christian.

I would really appreciate it if YOU would stop trying to steal my Lebanese heritage. You dont like anyone stealing and claiming ur stuff is theres well then dont do it to us either. Thats really not nice, the majority of ur list is correct but the name above that I corrected were listed incorrectly by you.And out of respect to each other we are all brothers and sisters I would appreciate it if you stopped spreading your lies. we have no problem saying someone is Palestinian origin, look at Queen Rania out loud and proud and she doesnt "hide" it as someone said so please thats a false excuse for ur lying about some of the people saying they are Palestinian when they are Lebanese and of Lebanese origin.

Jebli1989

No, he is not Palestinian. There are many Palestinians left Palestine pre-1948 to Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and many other countries. Sometime they don't want to consider themselves Palestinian. Because some Arabs hate Palestinians and look at them as 2nd class citizen in the Arab world. Like Diana Karazon is afraid she will lose all her votes if she call herself Palestinian. She keep it secret and call her Jordanian instead. I know her relative originally from Palestine. My mom's friend's husband know her relatives.

I don't understand why some arabs hate palestinians,I have never heard about it and as I always say If I wasn't moroccan I would like to be palestinian or saudi arabian like my 2 favorite and beloved prophets Jesus and Muhammed(pbut)

Nobody is trying to steal anything sister, please chill. Im sure he thought those people where Palestinian, thats why he wrote it and its not about stealing any heritage.

As for Julia Boutros, there are several families in Palestine with that name as well. However i believe she is lebanese with a Palestinian mother and here is why: Her brother Ziad praised a guy called Morad (i dont remember his last name) on superstar after he sang a Palestinian song called el kafiyeh, and ziad said "3anjad, mesh la2enni emmi men el 2edes (jerusalem)".

As for Amal Hijazi, i know a Palestinian guy whos mother is lebanese shia and he is first cousin with Amal Hijazi via his mother (Amals father is his khalo) so basicly she has Palestinian relatives, perhaps thats why Phoenix thought she was Palestinian.

As for Iwan, im pretty sure he is Lebanese.

Majda el roumy is to my knowledge Lebanese but her father lived in Palestine and she sang for Palestine so perhaps thats why many think she is Palestinian.

Razan Moghrabi is Lebanese.

Casey Kasem is Lebanese.

John Sununu is Lebanese

I have never heard anyone claim that Casey, Razan or the Sununus are Palestinian except for the maker of this thread which im sure he only said because he thought they were and not because he was trying to steal anything from anyone.
It would be great if Phoenix could change that, im Palestinian and when i saw these misstakes i myself got bothered mostly because i am obsessed with details.

Most of the people in your list are Palestinian though.

As for hiding identities, both of you are right and wrong, some actually had/has to hide it sometimes because there is well known discrimination against Palestinians in certain arab countries unfortunatly but in general its known who is Palestinian.

And Phoenix, i dont know how you can claim that Yitzak Rabin was a Palestinian hero, never mind that he wasent from Palestinian origin but this man was a Zionist that comitted massacres on Palestinians, just because he wanted to make peace later on (meaning giving back 20 percent of Palestine) it doesnt mean he became a hero.

And for the zionists posting here, it is irrelevent which ID or passport the above people have, the issue was not about a piece of paper, it was about ORIGIN, just because you guys forgot that your russian, french, yemenite, ethiopian or wherever you came from when you got your israeli ID after israel was built on Palestine, it doesnt mean that the rest of the world stopped caring about origin.

HI. I need to correct you. Amal Hejazy is from alkhalil in Palestine. and Julia boutros is from Jerusalem in Palestine. amal hejazy said it in an interview and julia boutros brother said it on star academy and he said that his mom from Jerusalem. oh please, you need to know that 1/4 Lebanon is Palestinian who are hiding there identity in order to get equal opportunity in Lebanon and at least get a job with low pay

All your updates are wrong. you need to correct your information, you need to search more to come up with the right information. you can't just post what just come up in your mind. you need to provide real documents. i can support my information with youtube and interviews.
