This is where i worry about Dubai. The site is very good, its not the worst site in teh world , but compare it to some of the more dashing sites like those from Cayan etc and you think how would these people even make a sale, I guesss the price bracket isnt the same as the Cayan stuff.

theres delays in every damn plot... excuses is whats the cause of the delays

I hate this situation..One agent tell me that the reason of the delay is due to the constructor, other is saying that the government blocked this project.....I really think that nobody is saying the truth..

Whatever the reason they are screwing all the italians, it's a national hobby to screw one another. Also be carefull with upcoming project near between grosvenour House and marina terrace. They are the same people. :ohno:

Nothing happening at least till 3 days ago.
Forget those guys together with a so called Donna Towers (Seasif) next to Grosvenor House

There has been a small amount of activity over the last few days. They now have two JCB's on site as well as a portacabin that wasn't there before. Having said that though, for some reason they have taken down most of the "My Tower" signage (see Imre's photo on p2 of this thread) and left only the original sign (see Imre's photo on p1).

Almasah International Real Estate, a Dubai-based company, announced the appointment of five separate contracting companies to start foundation and piling work on 10 of its projects.

Italian Foundation Company, Pliex Foundation, Zetas, Dutch Foundation and International Foundation will share the contracts totalling Dh86.7 million.

Almasah Chairman, Dr Abou Taleb Talebi, said: "Our main objective is to move ahead with our projects. We have rescheduled payment plans on these projects for our clients' benefit, helping them during these times of crisis and working alongside them for the benefit of all. To this end, we have created a specialised unit that serves our customers and have been very flexible, helping them in any way possible."

He said current market prices for building materials and the ready availability of a labour force are positive benefits of the current UAE economy, which ensure Almasah's projects will move ahead.

"We have 30 projects in total and we are committed to completing and delivering every single one of them," Talebi said.

Seven of the projects (Cadi 3, Cadi 5, Jouri 5, Jouri 6, Orchid Residence, Judi Palace and Soraya Tower) are located in Jumeirah Village. The rest (KPM Tower, My Tower and Dolce Vita) are located in Dubai Marina. All 10 are residential buildings and will comprise 2,622 units.

The foundation work will be completed during the second half of this year, by which time Almasah will have appointed contractors to start construction on the main structures.

Foundation work for Cadi 3 and Cadi 5 will be done by Italian Foundation Company; work for Jouri 5, Jouri 6 and Orchid Residence by Pilex Foundation; work for My Tower, Judi Palace and Soraya Tower by International Foundation; Zetas will do the foundation work for KPM; and the foundation work for Dolce Vita will by handled by Dutch Foundation.

The completion date for the Jumeirah Village projects is in the third quarter of 2010 while the projects in Dubai Marina will be delivered during the first quarter of 2011.

Before one week I spoke with Al Masah and told me that in a month starts all the works. They also said to me that a Chinese company signed already the contracts to raise up the project. We hope.

so whats going on , any updates?

They delivered the office portakabins last week but doesn't appear to be much more than a dozen people working at any one time and that number is going to rapidly decrease if they keep blocking the entrance to my car park.

funny thing.... they said delivery 6-8 months.....

this developer is really shifty, i would not pay them a penny until they have built 10 floors,

O.K., I see... Same as me, I already turn the payment plan as you. But do you really think that this project finally becomes a true building?

They inform me the last time I was there, that the project has already been paid by some italians constructors/investers for 35% each. If you have anything new pls let me know.

Nothing new, no progress here.

If they get heavy rain, those basement walls could be damaged by the extra pressure. Some temporary propping would be good insurance if it is going to sit for some time yet.

Any news? They told me they got started and in 12 to 18 months they will complete the whole project. Is this true? Or just...

In the last meeting I had with them the insured me that the budget of this project comes from Italy for almost 80%. And the Italians pay directly the constructor and not in the Al masah 's offices.

From what I know regarding Al Masa is that all of their projects are hit with delays, I have no investment with them but through people that have invested in their company I know they are very shady people.

I think this one is on hold now, a friend of mine invested and he is saying developer is refusing to answer e-mails or calls

I saw workers there but the progress is slow.

They were pouring concrete the day before yesterday - but as Imre has said, progress is slow.

they also has a whole property swap scam going on a couple years ago which technically is Illegal according to Rera..... they offerd me a swap for a unit which looking around I found out that it was 40% above market value and in JV south ( middle of no where).

I dont think they have one project completed, if you look in JV south they have G+3 projects which started in early 2007 ( nearly 5 years ago) and its still in foundation stages. at one point they had a list of celebrity endorsed projects and a total of over 30 projects, its more like 15 now and even those are no where near ready.

Yes, all of their projects are fraud , just have a look the Dolce Vita or KPM Tower.

Many Italians were cheating with these projects , few months ago someone called from the airport, he wanted to check the tower as he has an apartment there and heard its already handed over :)

... and if you go to their web site, Dolce Vita isn't on it anymore. I hope Dolce Vita gets demolished, it is just a concrete skeleton. And this one, who knows.
Al Masah has been involved in property swaps from Ajman's Emirates City as well. It totally stinks, don't understand, why the government isn't stepping in here.
Sounds all like Italian mafia to me.

Consolidation was just a joke, I heard another scam now with consolidation some projects in Sports City , of course those wont be ever built ..
