It was funny they put a lot of cool stuff, had a lot of good people contribute, Kelly Ring was one. A lot of good speakers, ofcourse Pam Iorio's was a 3 page document explaning what she hoped Tampa would have in 30 years, which ofcourse.... was RAIL, and to every interviewer she expressed the need to move away from cars and into RAIL. I enjoyed it, it was really hot. I laughed, and marveled. Can't wait for 2037.

TAMPA - What might Tampa residents find intriguing 30 years from now? What might trigger a memory of a bygone year?
To Tampa's dignitaries, books, DVDs, letters and newspapers fit the bill. On Monday, the day after Tampa turned 120 years old, the city celebrated its birthday by filling a time capsule.
It won't be buried in a park but rather stored in the clock tower atop old city hall.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden sent over a black Super Bowl jacket to commemorate the team's 2003 championship. Surely, everyone hopes they prevail again sometime between now and 2037.
Jim Tarbet, executive director of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, put in a DVD highlighting the krewe's 100 years of Gasparilla history. He also put in a few strands of beads, of course.
A member of the Gonzmart family brought over a menu from the Columbia Restaurant. We'll see if the ropa vieja still sells for $16.95 in 30 years.
Books were popular, with leaders of the area's universities - University of Tampa and University of South Florida - putting in histories of their institutions. DVDs also were a hit. One local TV news anchor even thought to provide a DVD player, knowing full well those machines might go the way of the eight-track.
Councilman John Dingfelder thought it'd be neat to put in the front pages of the Tampa Tribune and St. Petersburg Times. He also brought a cell phone, figuring cell phones as we know them today will be far different in 30 years.
The master of ceremonies for the event, held in Lykes Gaslight Square, was radio personality Jack Harris, who had some of his own predictions for 2037: The troubled desalination plant will soon be up and running, Joe Redner will be building a new parking garage next to his eight-story Mons Venus, and Dick Greco will, once again, be mayor.
