I am hoping to move to Portsmouth for a four year course next year to study property development, and I'm planning to buy a laptop for work, but also for gaming and downloading tv shows (shh!)

Can anyone recommend a good one to me between £700 and £900? Is that reasonable? I would like it to be able to play games like Unreal Tournament 3 without any problem.

Thanks:)

I doubt any laptop will run that! :uh: Even most desktops will only run it on low detail.

I Know, I thought that, but I have to be able to find SOMETHING, maybe around £1000?

BTW WJ, thought you might like these if you haven't seen them yet:

Supposedly it makes Gears of War look ugly while playing!!!

a macbook pro would do it:

2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
1440 x 900 resolution
2GB memory
120GB hard drive1
8x double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 128MB SDRAM
Ships: 7-10 business days
Free Shipping
$1,999.00

a cheap flight to an applestore in New York and you're almost there with your £1k (ish)

Awesome... I've seen a few screenshots before, but not those. The polygon count is going to make this possibly the most graphically-intensive game of all time. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 6800 but I'll need to upgrade. The release date is said to be around September btw.

If you dont want to spend more than 1.500 Euros then the ASUS G1 would make sense.
If you can spend more then the ASUS G1S or the Dell XPS M1710 would be good.

The "One Notebook C6420" for 900 Euros might be good if you dont have so much money to spend.

November now, for PS3 and PC anyway. 2008 for Xbox.

And thank's for the ideas guys:)

Don't listen to B4mmy, don't get a macbook pro, I knew a guy who had one and it ruined his life. :)
