Hey Chicago,

We in TO (Toronto), your sister city wanna know why you think about a combined bid for the 2020 Olympics, should your 2016 bid be unsucessful (hope it isn't)

We are both similar in size, (your metro area is bigger)
We both have very a diverse population, reflecting diversity of the world,
Maybe we can get a high speed rail network or something

Montreal and Detroit, both 4.5h from TO are also looking to bid for the Olympics, maybe we can include them.

Japan and Korea co-hosted the FIFA World Cup together

What are your thoughts on this Idea?

I love the idea, but the IOC probably just wants a single city to host, say, 98.9% of events in that city. But, if we dont get the Olympics in '16, i'll be rooting for ya in 2020!

It's way too far apart for consideration, not to mention security concerns, crossing borders, etc.
