Avanza modernización del Sistema Teleférico de Mérida con tecnología de punta

Las evaluaciones del teleférico más alto y largo del mundo, ubicado en los andes venezolanos, se realizaron en dos grandes etapas, que se iniciaron en marzo y concluyeron en diciembre de 2009

20 enero 2010 - El Sistema Teleférico de Mérida avanza sostenidamente hacia su modernización, gracias a los trabajos emprendidos a principios de 2009 por solicitud del Gobierno revolucionario, a través del Ministerio del Poder Popular para el Turismo (Mintur) que permitieron determinar las condiciones técnicas y de infraestructura de esta colosal obra de ingeniería.

Las evaluaciones del teleférico más alto y largo del mundo, ubicado en los andes venezolanos, se realizaron en dos grandes etapas, que se iniciaron en marzo y concluyeron en diciembre de 2009.

Dicha actividad fueron ejecutadas por las empresas consultoras, Denis Creissels S.A (DCSA) y HALEC, con la participación del equipo técnico de la gerencia de Ingeniería y Mantenimiento del Sistema Teleférico de Mérida (STM).

Apoyado en los resultados emitidos por las consultoras, el gerente del Sistema, José Gregorio Martínez, comentó que “el trabajo que se ejecutará a partir de las inspecciones es apenas comparable a lo que se realizó hace cincuenta años, por eso cada paso que damos lo hacemos con mucha responsabilidad, para darle al pueblo de Mérida y a Venezuela un resultado a la altura de sus expectativas”.

Durante la primera etapa se acondicionaron los sistemas teleféricos principal y de carga “para hacer posible el desarrollo de las inspecciones, tanto del sistema electromecánico como de los distintos cables tractores y portadores de ambos transportes”, apuntó Martínez.

Entre abril y mayo se procedió a la inspección del componente electromecánico, realizado por la consultora DSCA, y en julio y agosto se ejecutó la revisión de cada uno de los cables, tractores y portadores por parte de la empresa HALEC.

Como resultado de este trabajo se coordinaron acciones con la Fuerza Aérea Bolivariana, para que se realizaran los ensayos especializados pertinentes a piezas y componentes sujetos a carga y tensión, dada su experiencia en esta materia, y con el ánimo de determinar con mayor precisión la condición de partes y piezas metálicas del STM, de acuerdo a las recomendaciones de las consultoras citadas, según revela una nota de prensa del STM.

Una vez finalizados estos ensayos en el Teleférico Principal, y considerando los informes de las consultoras, la continuidad histórica de las inspecciones reportadas en los últimos quince años, y el historial de funcionamiento de los 50 años del Sistema Teleférico de Mérida, se procedió a la valoración integral de estos resultados en un equipo de trabajo conformado por la Dirección de Proyectos del Mintur y la gerencia de Ingeniería y Mantenimiento del Sistema.

Luego de la revisión de las pruebas realizadas e informes presentados, a finales de diciembre la empresa Venezolana de Teleféricos (Ventel) consideró la propuesta de modernizar el STM, manteniendo su obra de ingeniería civil original y respetando los espacios intervenidos de la Sierra Nevada dispuestos hace 50 años en el proyecto inicial.

En este sentido, el Gerente informó que “se conservará la infraestructura civil valorada como operativa, aprovechable y útil, generando los cambios en los componentes electromecánicos y cables necesarios, para garantizar mayor seguridad, eficiencia y confort a los visitantes”

A la par de las actividades técnicas realizadas Martínez informó que “se han realizado reuniones periódicas con arrendatarios del Sistema, trabajadores del Teleférico, representantes del consejo comunal de Barinitas, y de la parroquia Los Nevados.

De igual modo, se sostuvieron encuentros con representantes de la Cámara de Turismo y de Comercio; además de la Gobernación y el Consejo Legislativo del Estado Mérida (CLEM) donde se han presentado avances sobre la dirección y el resultado de los trabajos adelantados para la puesta en marcha del STM.

Dentro de las acciones pautadas están contempladas la sustitución de dos cables portadores del teleférico de carga y reparaciones en algunos sectores del cable portador del tramo cuatro del teleférico principal.

Asimismo, se llevará a cabo un mantenimiento general de las cabinas principales “para contar con su operatividad al momento del transporte de materiales, estas acciones nos permitirá contar con las líneas principal y de servicios para el traslado de insumos y de piezas y así garantizar el avance sostenido de todos los trabajos de modernización”, apuntó Martínez.

El gerente del STM acotó que los fabricantes de las piezas y componentes que se sustituirán son europeos y “no están en disposición inmediata, por eso deben ser mandadas a preparar con anticipación y a la medida de la necesidad de nuestro Sistema Teleférico”.

Por otro lado, informó que “paralelo a estos trabajos se solicitó la elaboración de piezas y partes del componente electromecánico, a través de la Empresa Mixta de Teleféricos y se revisó el proyecto de ingeniería en detalle.

En este contexto, señaló que el Ministerio del Ambiente e Inparques realizan el estudio de impacto ambiental respectivo y de igual modo se estará actualizando el levantamiento topográfico, a lo largo de todo el Sistema, lo cual es un insumo fundamental para el avance de los cálculos.

Martínez expresó su satisfacción por los avances que permitirán la reactivación del icono turístico de Mérida, e invitó a los visitantes nacionales y extranjeros y a la comunidad emeritense a tener confianza en las labores de modernización que persiguen la optimización de esta importante obra de ingeniería, la cual beneficiará a la actividad turística nacional.

Bueno para empezar te encontraras con una zona ferial totalmente abierta al publico sin costo en la cual se puede caminar y beber sin problema obviamente con ciertas restricciones pero en general mientras no causes desmanes no tendras problema, el area es enorme, al rato subo la imagen para que te des una idea.

En relacion a si es como un spring break ó algo tradicional, basicamente es una gran fiesta que dura 3 semanas y dependiendo de los gustos encontraras algo atractivo sin embargo no lo pintaria como un spring break, vaya no hay gringas enseñando sus atributos pero si hay una gran cantidad de eventos tanto gratuitos como de paga:

PAGA
- Corridas de toros
- Peleas de gallos (apuestas)
- Palenque de la feria (artistas todos los dias como puede ser Vicente, Alejandro, Gloria Trevi, Juan Gabriel)
- El casino (juegos como ruleta, de cartas, texas, bacarrat, dados, etc)
- WWE Raw
- Noches bohemias en el Teatro Victor Sandoval
- Cena gala de inauguracion (el artista invitado siempre ha sido de gran nivel, ha estado Juan Gabriel, Miguel Bose, Alizee y este año al ser Italia se rumora que sera un gran artista acompañado por nuestra magnifica Orquesta Sinfonica asi que pensamos que podria ser Andrea Bocelli ó Filippa Giordano)

De esos me acuerdo al momento pero conforme se va acercando la fecha se dan mas eventos de ese tipico y para todos los gustos, en cuanto a gratuitos tenemos:

GRATUITOS
- El teatro del pueblo (presenta una mezcla de artistas internacionales y nacionales muy buena, de los que recuerdo y por darte un ejemplo ha estado Ha-ash, Alek Syntek, Kalimba, Maria Jose, Lila Downs, Buena Vista, Enanitos Verdes, etc. Selectron estaba programado el año pasado pero la feria se cancelo antes, generalmente mezclan artistas de diferentes gustos, bandas, grupos de rock, culturales, artistas de los paises invitados, etc)
- El cuartel (son eventos culturales, conciertos, obras de teatro, etc. la mayoria gratuitos ó con un costo muy bajo)
- Exposiciones fotograficas, escultura, pintura, etc tanto del pais invitado como del estado invitado e Hidrocalidos.
- El foro del lago (igual espectaculos musicales, culturales, etc)

- Stands del pais y estado invitado (Yucatan e Italia)

Ademas de todo esto faltaria agregar:

- Restaurants en la zona ferial, incluyendo generalmente uno en el stand del pais invitado
- Bares y antros en la zona ferial
- Expendios de bebidas
- Una zona de stands comerciales
- El extreme bungee, basicamente es una gran resortera a la cual esta atada una esfera donde se sientan tres personas, estiran la liga y sales volando en la esfera.

Y no podia faltar, la zona de antros, el lugar donde encontraras 8 antros de estilos y gustos diferentes para escoger abiertos todos los dias, generalmente suele haber los antros normales de musica pop, alguno ya mas de musica electronica, alguno lounge y tambien de musica de banda ó grupera y que si bien solo abren para la feria no le piden nada a cualquier antro establecido en cualquier ciudad (salvo excepciones y casos de playa claro esta)
