View Full Version : Best Future Skyline in Eastern Europe - 2015
tomi1975 March 27th, 2009, 02:23 PM Visuals shown above are just a graphic attachment to a new Masterplan of Warsaw City Center area (Plac Defilad). In fact buildings may look totally different, information that comes from those visuals references only to height, function, general massing of proposed buildings . Anyway, hope this time City Authorities will finalise the process of introducing Masterplan into reality. Depending on global economy condition development may take up to 15 years.
Triceratops March 27th, 2009, 02:55 PM wow!! that's looking just stunning!! though such curved skyscrapers don't fit in that place!
tomi1975 March 27th, 2009, 03:17 PM ^^I agree, too much "dubai style" IMHO. I much more prefer simple and elegant forms. Like I said it is just visual, real buildings will look different, hope so anyway...
DocentX March 27th, 2009, 04:15 PM Warsaw has bright future :cheers::cheers:

void0 April 20th, 2009, 07:13 PM awesome masterplan...
I don't think it is a real plan, it is more like fan art, since most of those tower projects do not exist even, not talking it takes years to start working on the project when it is already exist... So don't expect this in nearest decade.
Darhet April 20th, 2009, 07:52 PM This is a realistic plan^^
trust me
is not fan art but official ;)
Kaski April 21st, 2009, 10:14 AM This is a realistic plan^^

Void0 probably means the shapes of those towers etc. True, the shapes are art, but sizes and locations are true.
Triceratops April 21st, 2009, 06:11 PM IMO such masterplan is not possible to be realized! It's just too dense - too many highrises on one square! Even though it might look awesome, but that's not that European style to be constructed especially in Warsaw!!
WMS April 21st, 2009, 11:41 PM IMO such masterplan is not possible to be realized! It's just too dense - too many highrises on one square!
C'mon, this square is 3rd biggest in the world.

WMS May 8th, 2009, 10:36 PM Absolutely not, even after finishing this great project, density of highrise in Warsaw would be far behind Benidrom
That's actually good point. I'm happy that our city does not look like Benidorm.
batman May 9th, 2009, 09:15 AM That's actually good point. I'm happy that our city does not look like Benidorm.
Definitely, quality of highrises in Warsaw is in diferent level compering to Benidrom ones, so there is no reason to hide after each other.
Triceratops May 9th, 2009, 02:09 PM at first, Benidrom is not in Eastern Europe; second, even though Warsaw will not have just as many highrises as there are in Benidrom, Warsaw still will look many times better than that cheap-architecture city!; third, Warsaw will be giving an absolutely amazing impression with less quantity of highrises than there are in Benidrom, but anyway in EE it will have them more than any other city of the region, as well as the design of them will be spectacular and they really fit there!!
batman May 9th, 2009, 09:48 PM at first, Benidrom is not in Eastern Europe;
Now take a look at yours previous post
conclusion is that Warsaw soon is to become Europe's densiest highrise city!!
You didn't even mention that you were talking only about EE.
Furthermore, there is only a beautiful rendering of Warsaw downtown, nothing more and nobody knows how many and how tall of these scrapers will be built. I wish all the best for Warsaw future highriser developmet, but I'm sure in reality will be diferent, I'ts too early to  we can just :applause:

if you haven't seen previous renderings of whole Warsaw centre development, than you might not know that there will be many skyscrapers built soon, because some of them are u/c, few approved and many proposed!! believe me, there wouldn't be analogues in EE in terms of skyscraper quantity as in Warsaw!
Locke May 11th, 2009, 02:24 PM What I like about Warsaw is that it is embracing quality skyscraper projects, world class design and lately more height. The visions of the city centre from the previous page are inspiring, the GFC has some effect but I feel it's less so in Poland than in other countries, so here's hoping more good stuff can get up in the future, maybe a supertall to make everyone's day!
Triceratops May 11th, 2009, 08:11 PM ^^ very right! the fact I like in Warsaw is that all highrises differ from each other and all of them look really nice!

I don't know who is coming up with this stuff in Warsaw but buy them a cigar cos that is just looks fantastic, and presents a bold, positive, forward thinking vision of Warsaw! I mean seriously that would put Warsaw up there with Paris and London and Frankfurt as the major Euro skyscraper cities.

These are just a few of the projects going around in the city ... These few are all pretty much located around the center of the city.
Triceratops April 12th, 2010, 05:41 PM ^ Not bad, and that's still not Mink-City! ;) Would be just stunning to see that one for instance!
crapzoid April 13th, 2010, 02:56 AM Well, there's Minsk City and Mayak Minsk. The thought of having those two in the city feels very unreal. I might show some renders of both later on.
crapzoid April 14th, 2010, 10:41 AM So this is Mayak-Minsk, built right near the National Library. These are the most latest renders from a year or so ago, although the 78-floor supertall will be no more. It's now reduced down to a 35-storey, apparently because it doesn't fit in well enough or something like that.
: Bash:

http://realt.by/pict/user/1000/NEWB4B38B566/44994853e0.jpg
Then there's Minsk City which is supposed to be headed by a 70-80 floor supertall in the form of a stork. A final render is supposed to come in a few months, or so I heard.
http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/4896/novovstroykiminska7.jpg (http://img690.imageshack.us/i/novovstroykiminska7.jpg/)
That's enough for now. :)
Triceratops April 14th, 2010, 08:04 PM Minsk has overcome all my expectations! That's just so cool, I am amazed! Such clusters might become among the leaders in Europe in terms of extraordinary highrises' design!
crapzoid April 15th, 2010, 04:38 AM Yeah. It will take a while to build though, Mayak Minsk by around 2017 and Minsk City by 2020. Despite this Mayak Minsk has started building 10fl apartment buildings, I haven't heard much from Minsk City, though work was scheduled to start this month.
Triceratops April 15th, 2010, 05:38 PM ^ Really? I heard that Lukashenko usually gives no more than 3 years to build anything in Belarus for the developers.. So he made an exception for them.. Well, no wonder such agreement was signed as this is going to make Minsk a famous skyscraper destination!
crapzoid April 15th, 2010, 05:47 PM I suppose so! These two projects will definitely change the face of the city. I don't know if it will be a 'famous skyscraper destination', but many people's cameras will get a work out thanks to all the photos taken.
Now we wait and observe.
Ivanski November 27th, 2010, 06:02 PM Skyline of Sofia could come up with a decent look in a matter of few years. The cluster is interesting with its location which is alongside the main East gate boulevard of the city ,and not on a regular downtown model.

Well i dont think its really fair to make an judgement just on the renders. It might turn out great or bad either way Tirana is being one of the first cities to construct buildings like those so either they turn out great or bad which we cant know for now (seen we dont have much examples to look at), and the buildings do look cheap on the renders, but you would be surprised knowing the actual costs of one of them towers far exceeds the 50 million euros.
Kulla December 28th, 2010, 12:43 AM Tirana Train Station Towers
http://www.baksvanwengerden.nl/wp-content/gallery/tirana/014_0.jpg
In collaboration with "Architekten Cie", BaksvanWengerden Architecten designed two towers for the new station area in Tirana, Albania. Both towers contain a maximum mix of offices, hotel rooms and apartments.
Tower A has a vertical mix of programme supplemented by vertical voids to optimise the penetration of natural daylight and generate views over the city and the adjoining mountains. In tower B the programme is horizontally mixed with open floors to accommodate public facilities – restaurant, lounge bar and health club. Both towers have retail and catering programme at ground floor level.
In addition to this tower B has a underground passageway to a music pavilion in the park.
The intensified multi-use character of these towers underscores the ambition to invigorate city life in this part of Tirana. The two towers are different but unmistakably related.

Kulla January 8th, 2011, 12:35 AM Tirana Rocks Residential Towers
As part of the Tirana Rocks masterplan, Aedas has recently designed two residential towers designed to maximise views of the surrounding area and to provide an interactive and lively retail space.
The design concept emerged from a strong desire to acknowledge the accepted ‘Tirana Rocks’ masterplan which creates a new dense urban neighborhood with a park and public facilities at the shore of Tirana Lake, in the south of the Albanian capital. The design appreciates the contextual limits, and provides a sustainable, iconic vision of the future of Tirana, and Albania.
The buildings have been designed to echo the richness of the area and articulate a ‘rock’ aesthetic which relates to the existing masterplan. Through a massing model exercise from the parameters set out within the masterplan, the process developed forms, which combined with contextual generators of patterns, rocks, and mountains, created the fundamental basis of the concept.
When complete, the exterior ‘rock’ theme will utilise local stone found within this region. Its design provides interest by creating forms, colour and texture, yet adds soften edges within the fractured landscape. The façades will fold back, providing stunning views and daylight within the property.
Aedas’ design provides two unique buildings which are appropriate to location, environment, culture and function, achieving the objectives of the brief, while reflecting the client’s aspirations for an iconic development for Tirana.

Esplanada City Center is the name of a future multifunctional city center in Bucharest situated on the Unirii Boulevard not far from the Palace of the Parliament. Esplanada will provide shopping, living, working and leisure functions integrated into a mixed-use urban community.[1]
The Romanian State has approved the Esplanada City Center Project. TriGránit Development Corporation will start construction works on the Esplanada Project in the second half of 2009.[2] The government has approved this project by allowing a Private-Public Partnership. The entire project will become property of the Romanian State after 49 years of partnership, and at the end of the partnership TriGránit will have the option to buy the complex.
Description
The entire project is envisioned as a small city with shopping, living, working and leisure functions integrated into one enormous complex developed on an area of 107,140 square meters.
The project includes 8 skyscrapers from 30 to 70 floors, a Guggenheim Museum, a shopping mall and many green areas.[citation needed]
The tallest of the skyscrapers will have a roof height of 210 m (250 with the spire). There will be also a unique building shaped in the form of the Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuşi's Endless Column.
The whole building complex including the mall will have a price tag of around US$ 4.2 billion and it will be paid by TriGránit and the Rothschild family.
