I'm trying to find ridership figures for singular bus lines, but I can't find them anywhere. I know that I've seen figures for Vermont and Wilshire Blvds., but I wanted to find it for Sunset and Valley.

Ridership on one bus line instead of the whole system.

I just read that the Orange Line has jumped up to 23,000 boardings avg. Either it needs to seriously be pushed up on the priority list as being extended out to Pasadena on its own ROW or converting it to light rail.

How about a subway through Burbank and Glendale? Just continue on the ROW then go down 3rd./Glenoaks then down Brand to Colorado and continue on Colorado all the way to the Gold Line.

Too bad we don't have any money for it thanks once again to Sacramento.

Wait a minute.....the Red Line was to be a grade seperated train that extended through the floor of the Valley west but the neighborhoods killed it. Then it was downgraded to LRT and the neighborhoods came out again against it. Finally even WITH neighborhood opposition the Orange Line came into operation.......frankly the Valley is getting what it deserves.

Well, I don't know if the Red Line was halted in the Valley due to community opposition. Remember that all this happened around the time that all construction stopped because of cost overruns and all the controversies. The Red Line was finished to North Hollywood, but that was it.

The Gold Line Eastside Extension was supposed to be a Red Line Extension. Blame the MTA for that one and Zev for that one.

I believe this was pre-Snoble or when he just first got in from Dallas. The MTA is a different beast from the infamous RTD age. Frankly, I'm floored by an organization that claims that they are in deficit doo-doo but yet are co ntinually rolling out not only new bus lines every few months(rapids) but are putting newer and longer busses on the streets. My Sunset Line just got bigger longer orange slinky busses for the #4 AND a new Rapid Line!! I don't like paying that $2 extra but at least I see changes on the street.

Buses are just a little cheaper than light rail and subway, lol. SGV should have the rapids, the Westside should have a ton of rail.

The SGV has them Foothill buses! no need for MTA to waste money on Rapid over there!

MTA money should be invested in the City of Los Angeles. What ever is left over should be divided and evenly distributed to the rest of the County*

I wish this were the reality but the reality is that the MTA is a county-wide organization and has to somewhat appease all constituents or else when voting on a bond for the Purple Line to be built voters in the other parts of the county that will not be directly effected by the extension will most likely vote against it. Either create a citywide organization(a stronger LADOT) that will be able to build it on their own or go ahead and build the Gold Line to stupid Azusa w/ measly ridership so that we can get those very active voters in Duarte to nod "yes" for a Purple Line extension. Comments?
