Why? this building will a 39 floors and in San Juan under construction there is a 37-storey tower.

the anacaona avenue will look amazing when all its proyects finish...

True, but it's in a residential sector of Santo Domingo. And the apartments in that area are pretty exclusive. Actually most residential buildings don't have retail in the lower level. For that you probably have to look around the Malecon area. Malecon Center (residential/hotel complex) has a mall and Torre Vieramar was selling retail space on the first floor when I last went. Most of the retail space is towards the center of the city, where there are malls and superstores. Then there is a spread of smaller residential buildings that have small buisnesses on the ground level.

Even though, I think we can both agree that towers or buildings with retail at the lower level add more life to a neighb and to a city as a whole.

I don´t like.

But is the tallest buiding in Caribbean, Santo Domingo represents Dominican Replubic the powerhouse of Caribbean!!!

Yeah it's been kinda slow, but here's some new pics with progress made on the facade. Seems like some sort of block which is painted over.
