But its a good thing that iligan has finally has its version of a real mall!! The message and devotion to Jesus as The Divine Mercy is based on the writings of Saint Faustina Kowalska, an uneducated Polish nun who, in obedience to her spiritual director, wrote a diary of about 600 pages recording the revelations she received about God’s mercy.

The message of mercy is that God loves us no matter how great our sins. He wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His joy.

It is a message we can call to mind simply by remembering ABC.
A — Ask for His Mercy. God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.
B — Be merciful. God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.
C — Completely trust in Jesus. God wants us to know that the graces of His mercy are dependent upon our trust. The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive.

But in the Divine Mercy devotion, the message takes on a powerful new focus, calling people to a deeper understanding that God’s love is unlimited and available to everyone — especially the greatest sinners.

The Divine Mercy Hills is located in Ulaliman, El Salvador, Misamis Oriental. It is a 30-minute ride from the city of Cagayan de Oro. The Divine Mercy Hills is home to the 50-foot Divine Mercy Statue and is said to be the tallest Divine Mercy Statue in the world. Firebrick plant to rise in Misamis Oriental
CAGAYAN DE ORO — A consortium of Mindanao firms is building a firebrick manufacturing plant in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.

The firebricks, used in lining furnaces, kilns and fireplaces, will use agricultural and industrial wastes as inputs.

The plant is a project of Agham at Teknolohiyang Pinoy, Inc., or Agtekpin, a consortium of three Filipino firms, namely: ACM Genetics, Inc., SidlakPinoy, Inc., and Amstar Integrated Waste Management and Services.

Advocacy

Jesus Jerome B. Pring, Jr., president and chief executive officer for Agtekpin, said the project forms part of the group’s advocacy for sustainable development.

"We continue to develop green products for a sustainable environment-friendly, economic development," Mr. Pring said in a brief interview here after an environment forum organized by the Mindanao Media Advocates for Environment Preservation.

This year, the group will focus on commercial-scale production of firebricks, he said, noting rivers connecting Bukidnon and this city have high silt deposits, which can be used for firebrick production.

Mr. Pring said that equipment and facilities are already in place in time for start of operations this year.

Track record

Each member of the consortium has been active in sustainable development projects in Mindanao, Mr. Pring said.

SidlakPinoy, Inc. has been producing firebricks from agricultural and industrial waste, though in limited quantity.

The reinforced firebricks produced by the firm have been used in most Gawad Kalinga housing projects in Bukidnon.

The company has been operating for 25 years now.

ACM Genetics, Inc. supports and assists local governments as well as the Department of Agriculture in the propagation and production of hybrid corn seeds, said Mr. Pring.

Amstar Integrated Waste Management and Services, meanwhile, promotes and provides portable sanitation systems during major events in the region such as festivities and public assemblies.

New thrust

Ednar G. Dayanghirang, executive director for the Mindanao Business Council, said in a recent visit to this city that the next investment conferences to be organized by the council will focus on small- and medium-scale enterprises that are into sustainable development projects. — G.P. Alba

I would agree to the first one in Licoan....on the Corrales side, I only see an extension of the open parking space as of now ...i don't know if they have another phase to build a multi-level parking bldg.

nasayop daw og construct ang mga panday at 1st its open and wala na bantayan sa engr. na ki tiwas sa panday up to 4th floor, na which is until 3rd floor lang and dili naman daw ma usab kay they have to change the whole thing..... pero according to the gaisano staff they will put a kiosk behind sa hagdanan para di madaanan sa mga tao.. or they will open it nalang daw, but if they will going to open it and it will take tym napud daw and dili napud ma open ang 3rd floor coz its a major repair!

Aesthetics? That is something that Gaisano Mall Cagayan de Oro is lacking from exterior to interior. It's too pang masa but what I like about this mall is it's much cheaper compared to other malls especially sa grocery... And if you want to treat your friends for a buffet... GMall's 4th floor has two restaurants that offer it. :)

uso kasi yung mga box-type at grey or dark color na mga buildings in the late 80s....like SM Cubao below....syempre Gaisano would not want to copy SM design kaya ganyan ang kinalabasan...lately because of innovation ang going green, naging bright colors na mga malls IMO owing to the fact that dark colors tend to absorb heat thereby increasing airconditioning loads inside...

Honest lang ha, ok ra sya, it looks old and architecturally outdated pero di kasing sama ng sa Gaisano City.. I guess kay dili sya kaayo dako, sum-ol man gud ang sa gaisano city tan-awn kay dako kaay then all concrete.. nakatabang sab siguro ang mga stainless(?) finish sa exteriors para dili kaayo maot tan-awn

lahi ra jud ang Gaisano City, siguro tungod kay massive ra kaayo tan-awon..basta "bug-at" ra kaayo tan-awon tapos naa pa mga murag hugaw and watermarks sa ubang parts

I agree with wayway na mas okey ang old gaisano sa Cebu kasi stainless sya kaya di marumi tingnan, let's hope na Gaisano City will do somehow para maging attractive ang exterior ng mall. Siguro din di gaanong binigyan ng pansin ni Stephen kasi kampante siya na malakas pa rin dahil nasa city center, at ang mamimili kasi iniisip na Gaisano is pang masa talaga mahirap man o mayaman ayon pumipila.

So tutuparin talaga nila pangako nila sa LGU, kasi the invesments (including Casino-Hotel) will really contribute to the growth of CdeO - it was mentioned before in the press release. That's a very good news kasi amidst crisis, IF Koresco still pushes through with their investments there in CdeO. Hopefully maging maganda sana takbo ng business nila para mag-expand naman sila sa ibang lugar like Iligan, Camiguin or Bukidnon, etc....:cheers:

We called Hotel Koresco home in the three days we were in Cagayan de Oro. The name stands for Korean Resort Corporation which runs the hotel. Traces of this inspiration can be found all over the hotel, from the menu, staff and architecture.

Location. The hotel is but a short distance from the airport and is located in an exclusive township. A golf course is adjacent to it.

Rooms. Theirs are the largest I've seen and come equipped with 2 queen sized beds, night tables, a mini bar, sofa, dresser, cable TV. The bathroom is also Korean inspired with the bath tub quite unlike what we regularly see.

Function Rooms. Our conference was held in one of the hotel's function rooms which is equipped with a projector, sound system, etc.

Dining. On arrival, we were welcomed with breakfast at the open air lobby lounge. The chapchae was absolutely delicious. The subsequent days' breakfasts were at Ambrosia.

Amenities. There's a pool on site but it's only 4 meters at its deepest end which makes it not so ideal for the serious swimmer. Spa services are also available.

Generally, it was a pleasant stay although not-so-GP was not so pleased about the overzealous housekeeper who wanted to clean his room an hour after he had told him that he would be sleeping.

The Board of Investments (BOI) said the Philippines will have a compact integrated steel mill rising in Iligan City.

Elmer Hernandez, BOI chief, said Ben Tiu, owner of Treasure Steelworks Corp., will invest P1 billion in a blast furnace and a beneficiation plant in Iligan City. It will operate commercially by October.

uso kasi yung mga box-type at grey or dark color na mga buildings in the late 80s....like SM Cubao below....syempre Gaisano would not want to copy SM design kaya ganyan ang kinalabasan...lately because of innovation ang going green, naging bright colors na mga malls IMO owing to the fact that dark colors tend to absorb heat thereby increasing airconditioning loads inside...

Gaisano should renovate the interiors as well as the exterior portion of the mall. :bash:The mall looks disorganized (tama ba ang term ko) and i have to admit it doesnt look good in the inside. The exterior portion naman is okay for me but they must paint it to make it looks nice.

have you been to cdo before? you seem to know that there is a caltex station, now owned by chevron, in front of the mall. actually, the owner of the caltex station is not Gaisano. i forgot the family name but i heard that he's not selling his lot/gas station to Gaisano because he knows the area is lucrative. that portion is very strategic for business thats why Gaisano needs it badly but unfortunately the owner has other things in mind

naka-pass-by nako dari. so simple ra kaau ang design sa entrance for such a HIGH END subdivision. bitaw, bungga pa xavier estates ug gran europa. pero nice man japun. labi na ang views within and abound the subdivision. underground pajud mga electrical, plumbing ug sewerage systems diba? ryt? definitely first in cdo. :)

I have never been to CDO and I love to visit the city in the near future. visible kasi sa picture yung Caltex station.,
