What im excited about is when it is completed and ready to use, what will be the outcome in terms of traffic solution in that area...:cheers:

The 195-meter flyover is set to be completed by August.

regarding kickbacks and SOP--it is a matter of opinion and i think you are completely entitled to that. again wala ko ga dapig kay emano. i just think it to be unfair accusations due to differences in opinion. like you, i am hoping ma resolve or at least ma ease ang traffic sa atong siyudad. and i am sure mao pud na ang goal sa atong city government. basin lang gi anticipate nila ang opening sa centrio and pdr hence these projects. :)

PROJECT WATCH: City to groundbreak 2 flyovers on June 15

The City Government of Cagayan de Oro is set to have the ground breaking of the two (2) flyover projects in the city namely, Carmen Flyover and Recto-Velez Flyover on June 15 in time for the city’s Charter Day celebration.

As shown in the perspectives of the said flyovers, the Carmen Flyover will rise specifically at the intersection of Masterson Avenue, Macanhan Road and Zayas Street with both uptown-bound and vice-versa taking the flyover.

Meanwhile, the Recto-Velez Flyover or simply the Licoan Flyover will rise at the city’s busiest intersection along the National Highway (CM Recto Ave.).

The Xavier University Magis Student Complex which was due for completion by the end of May 2011 has somehow passed the target date but is somehow nearing completion as shown in the photos.

Workers are still busy installing some lighting fixtures and other furniture and some finishings. Note the stylish stairway.

The so-called student mall inside Xavier University is well underway. Officially named Pryce Center for Entrepreneurship, the structure is now steadily taking shape.

As revealed in the following photos, the steel frames of the covered walkway at the back are already installed. Workers are seen doing excavations for the drainage and footings. Most of the pictures were taken from the bridge. The concrete benches in the area were temporarily relocated along the sides. The covered walkway leads to the Magis Student Complex.

No. 33 of the series….New construction updates beginning with the one shown above – the old Rural Bank building at the corner of JR Borja and Mortola Streets is now gone with another inevitable new building.

I wasn’t able to ask regarding the plan but workers were seen demolishing the once landmark structure in the city.

Cagayan de Oro City Police Director Senior Supt. Gerardo "Gerry" Rosales announced to the member of the committee on police, fire and public safety headed by Chairman Ian Mark Nacaya during recently concluded meeting that groundbreaking of the new headquarters of the Cagayan de Oro Police Office (Cocpo) is set on June 17 at the former cemetery along Hayes street, Cagayan de Oro.

Nacaya said that the committee was initiated and facilitated the construction of the new building in the area so that Cocpo will be more accessible to the public.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarter earmarked at P10 million for the said project with the counterpart from city with the amount of P5 million of this project.

Through the Ordinance No. 11277-2009, the City Council authorized Mayor Vicente Emano to enter into and sign the deed of donation with the Cocpo to use a 1000 square meter lot in a portion of the old cemetery as the site of the new police headquarters.

Meanwhile, three city councilors inspected the proposed subdivision projects in Barangay Lumbia on last Friday .

The three councilor inspecting the two Subdivision projects headed by Jose Pepe Abbu as the committee chairman on subdivision together with his member Alexander Dacer and Emmanuel Abejuela.

City Engineering Office called attention to prepare the needed
vicinity map of this project through the requested by the committee.

Abejuela called for a review of the technical description and proposed drainage system of the Happy Ville Subdivision.

Representatives of the CEO and the City Planning and Development Office also joined on the recent inspection. lcr

Cagayan de Oro City will put up a cable car system as a tourist attraction. Mayor Vicente Emano said the planned cable car system will start in the upstream area of the Cagayan de Oro River to allow viewers a good view of the rapids. The ride will end at the back of the City Hall which is also along the river.
The planned trip will also give tourists a panoramic view of the city’s downtown area -- from the old business district to the Macabalan Bay area. The terminal upstream will also be developed to become a hub for tourism-related businesses such as food chains and novelty shops.
