DOHA • An Asian cook has been charged with trying to rape a maid. The accused and the maid worked in the same house.
According to the charge-sheet filed by the prosecution, the brother of the maid, also employed in the same household, came to her rescue and saved her.
But the cook told the criminal court which is hearing the case that the maid and her brother were trying to trap him on fabricated charges because they want him sacked.
The maid's brother, he said, was quite close to the sponsor and they wanted him out. The accused is charged with entering the room of the maid late in the night and trying to undress her with the intention to rape her.
The woman screamed and her brother who was in the house at the time rushed to her rescue.
In another case, a criminal court acquitted an Asian who was accused of having illicit relations with a maid.
It so happened that the driver working in the house told the sponsor that he had seen a stranger in the maid's room and that he stayed with the maid the whole night. The sponsor told him that the next time he saw the man, he should immediately inform him.
The stranger returned a few days later and the driver saw him. He informed the sponsor, who immediately called in the police. The man was arrested and a case was filed against him.
The sponsor entered the maid's room with the police and was shocked to discover that she had stolen many expensive items from his house. The maid admitted that she had stolen the items. The court acquitted the Asian due to a lack of evidence.
In yet another case, a national has been charged with possessing illegal weapons and damaging the property of others. The prosecution read the charges against the accused in the court in his absence. Meanwhile, an expatriate has been accused of killing a national in a road accident. The deceased was traveling in a car driven by one of his employees. The citizen's family has agreed to accept blood money, the court was told.
what the heck is happening these days the country is full of bad news :ohno: :bash:
