DUBAI — A swanky 20-storey tower is all set to come up near the Dubai Municipality building at Deira by late next year.
Called the ‘Dubai Municipality Tower’, the tower would be one of its kind and would cater to the needs of many firms who are searching for an ideal locality to set up their offices, a senior officer of the Dubai Municipality said.
The final design of the tower would be ready in two months time while the construction of the tower would be taking almost a year and a half, he said.
Rashad Bukhash, the Director of the General Projects Department at the Dubai Municipality, said, “This tower would be of a great help to many including the officials of the Dubai Municipality. We are in the process of finalising the designs at the moment. They will be ready in the next two months. After this we would be starting off with the construction work. We expect that the tower will be ready by the next year and a half. The department is working hard so that everything falls in the right place,” he said.
The officials of the civic body added that the first four floors of the building would be designated for parking. “As per the plan, the parking lot would be only for the municipality officials and staff. Four floors of the tower will accommodate those departments and sections of the municipality which are currently located in other places such as Al Quoz, Heritage Village, etc as there is not much space in the two existing buildings.”
“We want all the departments and sections of the civic body to come under one roof so that people don’t have to face problems going to different places. All the offices would be shifted to these four floors. The remaining floors would be rented out to private companies. They can set up their offices as the location is a busy one with lots of people visiting the area. We are sure that the Tower project would be a success,” said the officials.
