@viva la raza

Bai viva I have a comment or shall we say its more of an observation lang.

Na notice nako murag dili lagi kaau "quality" ang finish sa Crown Regency Hotel and Club Ultima building.

I mean, from the look of it, murag it looks dull or dirty looking or ambot di ko ka explain, hehehe. Like, if you compare it with the Marriot building (or some buildings in CBP) or even the old Cebu Plaza Hotel building (now Marco Polo), murag lahi ra jud siya although what makes Crown Regency outstanding is that it's just very tall.

Crown Regency Hotel has imported external window cleaners just like other tall buildings pero ang Tower 2 Club Ultima , lisod pa i maintain due to the on-going construction of Tower 3. Sige'g kaabugan. Anyway, Next year we are going to make a major facelifting. The entire building will be wrapped in aluminum cladding (hayag kaayo) and Mr Grill restaurant(21st level) might be torn down to give way to another thrill ride. Nothing is final yet but rest assured that J King and Sons will stop at nothing to make every cebuano proud!

Paro @ viva... dili palupig ang AYALA.. check out the rumors thread bai... Ma shock ka sa ilang plans next year......... both ang Avida Land and Alveo Land.. subsidiaries of Ayala Land will be coming to Cebu na..... with a big bang high rises....

Just this morning, our General Contractor, ASEC, informed us that the final height of Ultima Residences Tower 3 would be equivalent to that of an ordinary 36-storey building. This height measurement includes the stylistic aluminum canopy which would be installed on top of the building. When completed, the Sky Walk extreme of Tower 1 (37th floor) would partially be covered. Viva Cebu!

actually @ viva.. gabii,while didto me sa Fuente, we kept on gazing the new building which we think is almost with the same height as Crown Regency... morag dili jud tinood sya 27 floors....... but still good for cebu.... since at least wa na mag inusara ang Crown Regency......:banana:

Still 27-floors but the over-all height will be equivalent to a standard 36-floor building. Yup, I think this will be the second tallest in Cebu.

I understand your concern bai, pero don't worry, 100% of the thrill will still be there. From the pictures. the two buildings look very close to each other but in reality they are more than 15 meters apart. Also, only a small portion of the view (5%) would be deprived from the SkyWalkers.

My suggestion wud be: Proxima Plaza Mall

Proxima is the direct opposite of Ultima in latin form. the word is used to describe great distance as in geographical locations. the proxima, on the other hand, is the exact opposite which means, geographically speaking, nearest.

i suggest proxima to complement the name of the name of the building which is ultima, or farthest point, which might refer to the crown of the building. ergo, proxima refers to the nearest point of the building which is the base or the lower floors.

so proxima plaza is loosely translated as the "NEAREST PUBLIC SPACE". proxima in latin means 'nearest' and plaza in spanish means 'public space'.

doesn't it make sense?

Back to the topic.

In a meeting yesterday morning held at Crown Regency Hotel, the unit owners of the mall have decided not to rush the opening since they need enough time to do the interior works of their units. Considering the fact that it is a high-end mall, they do not want to compromise the elegance and aesthetic beauty of the place. In view of the decision, our chairman of the board, Mr. Richard King acceded to the request but since Christmas is fast approaching plus the Sinulog, we will be holding our own "Bazaar at the Club'' from December to January. This is also for the public to be aware of the existence of the shopping center inside the complex.

New schedule of turn-over will be announced soon.

the unit owners are supposed to decide on the name also yesterday but as it turned out, they are more concern on the pressing issue of opening date. I have submitted around 80 names as collated by bai @main. anyway, whatever name is selected, i'll post it here immediately.

Very good decision :okay: IMO, it would better if Club Ultima will prioritize the supermarket/groceries. that would be very convenient for Tower 3 residents.

yes, we are now negotiating with an anchor store to occupy at the ground floor of tower 2.

All Fuente Triangle projects have rollers installed so the buildings would just sway in case there is an earthquake. Up to what intensity, I'm not certain but our general contractor, ASEC is a high-rise expert in manila so i would assume they utilize the most advanced technology available.they are also the contractor for Grand Cenia.

There will be an official topping-off ceremony on November 7 and of course, SSC Cebu, our partner in progress should be there as we celebrate the 'coming of height' of the tallest condominium outside metro manila. It is also the first loft-type condominium in Vis-Min, and now the second tallest building in Metro Cebu. (official height would be around 140m+++)

Ceremony will start with the symbolic pouring of concrete on the topmost level of the building at high-noon to be witnessed by some of our buyers, friends in media, and SSC Cebu. In the evening we will have the grand fireworks on top of the building.

Sky Experience Adventure (Skywalk and the Edge Coaster) is celebrating their first year anniversary next month. I can't believe it's been a year now since we had the ceremonial ride being one of the first riders :D

Anyway, I'm very happy to see many tourists doing the Skywalk, Edge Coaster and the 4D theater. We went there last Wednesday. The rides continue to attract local and foreign tourists, even on weekdays. There were still Skywalkers close to midnight. My cousins from Manila were really impressed. they had so much fun, promised to come back in December with more guests. :okay:

It's good to know that Fuente Tower 3 is not really close than it looks, when doing the rides from Tower 1. :cheers2:

Sure! hehe.. I still think The Insanity Orbit is the ultimate ride. anything less than that would obviously disappoint some, if not most... :D

Last week was my 8th Edge Coaster ride, and my 2nd Skywalk. Got a whole lot of certificates and souvenirs! haha

according to ultima residences representatives i talked to, tower 3 will be 130m high from ground to top of architectural design. Tower 1 (Crown Regency Hotel) is, according to building reps, is 140 meters high.

no worries. there is a reason why the building is designed the way it looks now. the project engineers know better. the way i look at it, eastern winds are partly shielded by club ultima and crown regency towers and hotels plus the soon to rise ultima prime. thus, gustling winds may have minimal effect on the building.

hi ya sir, that was taken from unit 911 at the 9th floor having approx. 102.75 sqms. it is a corner unit with the main window facing metrobank tower and at its right side ramos street

if the Kings can afford to build those massive and tall buildings in a continuous manner, hope two years from now they will build the tallest bldg in the country here or if not a tower that symbolizes strength of CEBU.

^^ I remember King stating this during an interview years ago that he may never be able to build the tallest structure or skyscraper in the country, (coz someone can always surpass that) but he wants to build something that is unique and stands out.

That's why he built Crown Regency Tower....it's not the tallest but it is the only hotel tower in the country with rides on top of it. ;) Even developers here in Metro Manila had never thought of that. :D

Maybe main reason for constracting something is to make money from it. Can't build something just to impress. I don't see that can make money with project like described above. Too expensive and difficult to constract and location is difficult. How to get funding and buyers, maybe can't. Not realistic plan. Constracting tall buildings is expensive and serious business not dreaming. This is just my 2 cents.

maybe anyhow it's all about the quality of finished product. If turn-over is 2 months delayed but quality of work is excellent then maybe buyers dont mind at all but are very much satisfied. If deadline met but quality is not good maybe not even one happy customer. After that hard to sell more condo units later in first case just opposite.
