Once this tower is completed, what a bang effect it will have on Senegal and africa as a whole. :banana: I Only hope that Abuja ´s millinium tower and stratosphere will also rise.
I´ll give another 5-10 years and Angola will likely come up with a big tower, too!

Great News I'm happy for DAKAR!!!

In addition to the Tour Kadhafi, Dakar also has yet to construct the Tours Minam and the Tour de la Democratie.

at first this project was located in front of the east or little Corniche between the "port's digue" and the BCEAO, novotel but lybian wont built there so the tower are relocated in Mamelles area in the declassed military zone call Camp Mamelles which are cross actually by the new corniche ouest highway .
So in 3 years we'll have in Dakar's top( this dakar suburb is two hills ex volcanic near the ocean the views are spectacular) 3 majors projects located in this suburb:
- the futur Sheraton: the Al Kharafi hotel at " champ de tir",
-the Khaddafi tower,
and the african reborn monument a 50 meter status in the top of a hills. Mouha have you got images for this two last projects i don't found pics of it.

FYI viewers, they show the building at about minute 16. It's gorgeous.

That is good news to hear after we heard in 2005 about the symbolic cornerstone laid by Muammar Gadafi and President Wade of Senegal. The Emporis listing of this project is misleading as it was tagged U/C when in fact it should have been tagged Approved as your thread suggests.

It is good news. Now they just need to cancel the ridiculous plans to build a new capital/administrative center in Wade's hometown. They should expand Dakar, or maybe build additional government offices inland in Thies, but a new capital on the beach is crazy.
