jpdm November 24th, 2009, 12:00 PM I am from Bacoor. And I might give Peter Abaya the chance to lead Bacoor. (to borrow the Abayas' slogan: ABANTE BACOOR!)
2) Kasabwat si Strike ng kanyang kuya sa PANG-AAGAW ng proyekto na dapat si BF ang nagsagawa (ung road widening ng Aguinaldo Hi-way from Bacoor to Trece/Tagaytay) --> Strike: "Literally, Bacoor is not MM, so (BF) has no business in doing the road widening even if atas pa ng presidente yan"
3) His post repaintings of predominantly yellow are more and more of becoming a f'ing eyesore
4) Minamadali ang cityhood (shades of Jessie Castillo?)
Si Castillo? Wag na. Utang na loob.
And I'd rather give justice first to the League of 16 than give Dasma & Bacoor cityhood at the expense of the League of 16 -- trabaho na yan ng CA.
Agree here.
My relatives might vote for Abaya.
Pidi as governor ng Cavite in the near future. I'm not against. In fact I will support him. Kailangan ng Cavite ng tulad nya in my opinion only.
Hmmmm.........very interesting....
In my opinion wla silang nagawang maganda for Cavite.
Waldenstrom November 24th, 2009, 04:39 PM In 1997..Roilo Golez proposed Dasma to be a chartered city and not a component city. They even proposed it to be part of Metro Manila, believe it or not. I think there's a tiny piece of land that connects Dasma to Muntinlupa (can't remember). I watched the conference that time (1997). *makes me feel old already*
Maliksi and others opposed. :D
Good luck with Dasmariñas tomorrow. Let's hope the best for everyone.

I think this is the right attitude, Dasmarinas WILL still attain development with or without the cityhood.
Anyway, whatever comes out of the plebiscite, everything that will help Dasma must be supported.

Bumoto ako kaninang umaga around 10:30am-11:00am before going to Manila. I don't know kung nung hapon ay marami.
808 state November 25th, 2009, 05:39 PM Although Canyon Woods advertises itself as being in Tagaytay, it actually is part of Laurel Batangas. Needless to say, its a development that its residents should be proud of.
oh my bad! now I know, thanks for the clarification:)

Congrats to those who voted Yes and Congrats Dasma! It will now become a city.:)
Paul George Alcala November 26th, 2009, 01:38 PM CAVITE — Cavite’s Dasmariñas town is now a city.
Apolonio A. Ramos, Dasmariñas Commission on Elections (Comelec) officer, made the proclamation at 5:25 a.m. Thursday after the yes votes won overwhelmingly in the plebiscite count.
The proclamation made Dasmariñas the 4th town in Cavite to become a city.
The province has 20 towns, including Dasmariñas, and three cities namely: Cavite City, the former capital, Trece Martires City, the provincial capitol site, and Tagaytay City, a prime tourist destination.
Dasmariñas is a first-class urban area and the most populous in the province. The new city, led by Mayor Jennifer A. Barzaga, has over 600,000 people living in 75 barangays (villages). The local Comelec and police said that the plebiscite conducted last Wednesday was peaceful and orderly. There are 292,986 registered voters in the town, it was reported earlier.
Christian Dayag of Dasmariñas Comelec, citing an initial report, said that were about 44,000 voters who cast the plebiscite ballot in the town’s 1,508 polling precincts. Ramos is expected to announce the exact total number of votes cast and the yes and no votes soon.
Dayag said the Comelec officials and personnel have not slept overnight because of the counting. “The yes votes won overwhelmingly but the records are with Mr. Ramos who is out of the office now,” said Dayag. (Anthony Giron)

Paul George Alcala November 27th, 2009, 11:45 AM Mechanic first to file CoC for congressman in CaviteBy ANTHONY GIRONNovember 26, 2009, 6:07pmAn automobile mechanic is the first and only election aspirant who has filed his certificate of candidacy (CoC) at the Cavite Provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) so far.
The filer is Gerbie Ber Ado, 30 of Bacoor, Cavite.
The office of Comelec Supervisor Juanito V. Ravanzo Jr. said that they had accepted Ado’s CoC at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday.
Ado, who came in simple attire, is running for congressman in the newly reconstituted lone district of Bacoor.
The famous politicians in the province have yet to file CoCs.
There are five more days before the CoC filing deadline. The filing started last November 20.
Ado is an unknown aspirant but is determined to run in the Bacoor congressional derby. He would vie against movie and television personality Lani Mercado, among others.
Lani, wife of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, had earlier proclaimed her bid but she has yet to file his CoC.
Ravanzo’s office said that they are expecting aspirants running for governor, vice governor, board members, and House of Representatives to file their CoCs in the next few days.
Among those who proclaimed their gubernatorial bids are former Vice Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla who will be running under the banner of Nacionalista Party of Senator Manuel B. Villar Jr., incumbent Vice Governor Dencito “Osboy” Campana (Liberal Party), and Trece Martires City Mayor Melencio “Jun” de Sagun.
Among those who have declared their congressional bid aside from Mercado are incumbent Governor Erineo “Ayong” Maliksi for the lone district of Imus and incumbent 2nd District Representative Elpidio “Pidi” Barzaga for Dasmariñas City District.

On the brighter note, I like the mayor's infrastructure program of putting trees and plants in all their projects. The street island and sidewalk improvement of Barzaga have made Dasma streets I think the best looking in the province...
I love to see Dasmarinas to blossom as a Cavite's green university belt.

He said cityhood won't be his top priority if elected congressman as marami pa dapat ayusin sa Bacoor...he even said he'd be happy to file cityhood bids for Imus & Rosario as these are more deserving than Bacoor as of this moment.
{says in jest na kakampi na rin pala sya ng League of 16}
Waldenstrom December 6th, 2009, 09:57 AM The status of Bacoor today is like of Dasmariñas during 1997 where the town was in a lot of mess: garbage, informal settlers, traffic problems and crime.
I'm pretty sure Bacoor can work it out in the coming years. It was already started by Strike and I hope their officials would set aside politics and work together for a better Bacoor. And yes, Bacoor residents should work hand in hand too. It was done in Dasma and I'm sure it can happen in the whole province too.
alcogoodwin December 6th, 2009, 03:08 PM There are ghosts in correigidor. There were severa local documentaries shown in local TV before showcasing these unearthly beings. I remember this show in ch7 where in they brought some local "ghost hunters" and even caught several white ghostly figures using their night cams. They tried to make contact and they sed these are american soldiers still lingering around in the area.
I have long wanted to spend a few nights on Corregidor photographing all the old ruins. Could only imagine at the wonderful and eerie results.
After a false start (got to the Philippines but not to Corregidor) with an earlier post on this thread, it looks like next years trip will definitely take in this remarkable place.
A friend who has booked to be in Manila at a similar time is interested in all things war history, so I have suggested we do a day out together.

jpdm December 7th, 2009, 01:11 PM 4 political groups to slug it out in voter-populated Cavite
By ANTHONY GIRON
December 6, 2009, 4:40pm
Manila Bulletin
The candidates of four big political groups are expected to fight it out in vote-rich Cavite.
The four are Liberal Party (LP) with Senator Noynoy Aquino as standard-bearer, Nacionalista Party of Senator Manuel B. Villar Jr., Puwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) of former President Estrada and Lakas-Kampi-CMD of former Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro.
The officials and the electorate considered the candidates of the four groups as provincial election favorites. LP and NP have fielded the most number of candidates in Cavite, a province with the highest number of registered voters in the country.
Lawyer Juanito V. Ravanzo Jr., local Commission on Elections (Comelec) supervisor, said there are over 1.6 million voters in the province’s 19 towns and four cities.
Ravanzo said there are six groups vying in the electoral race in the province. The two others are Alpha Omega 9-K and the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL).
Comelec Assistants Maria Rowena Jarin and Melenita Alfider said eighty-three candidates are competing for 23 provincial positions in Cavite.
LP has fielded 18 candidates, NP 16, Lakas-Kampi 13, PMP 11, AO-9K 8, KBL 3 and Aksyon Demokratiko 1. The rest of the candidates are running as independents, it was learned.
Ravanzo said no candidate is running unopposed in any elective positions in the province.
The electorate considered incumbent Vice Governor Dencito Campaña of LP, former Vice Governor Juanito Victor Remulla of NP and Trece Martires City Mayor Melencio de Sagun of PMP as top contenders in the gubernatorial race. For vice-governor are Bimbo Bautista of NP, Recto Cantimbuhan of LP, Rogelio A. Pureza of PMP.
The electorate is expecting a neck-and-neck race among the candidates.
The political mettle of Campaña will be tested against Remulla, who is the youngest gubernatorial candidate, and Sagun, the so-called dark horse in the race.
Campaña, a former board member, was unopposed when he ran for vice governor in 2007 elections. Remulla, 42, was vice governor for three terms, starting in 1998, while Sagun was elected three times as mayor of Trece Martires, the site of the Cavite Provincial Capitol.
They will fight for the post that would be vacated by Governor Ayong S. Maliksi. Maliksi, who was elected for three terms in the top provincial position, is running for congressman in the newly-reconstituted district of Imus, the province’s capital.
Other notable candidates in the province are movie and television personality Lani-Mercado, wife of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., who is vying for a congressional seat in Bacoor; 2nd District Rep. Elpidio Barzaga who will for congressman in the new Dasmariñas City district and movie character actor John Regala who is vying for a board seat in Imus district.
Ravanzo said earlier he sees HOPE (an acronym for happy, orderly and peaceful elections) with the candidates vying for various positions in the province.

hecky12 December 8th, 2009, 12:19 AM well kung ganun kahigpit ang kalaban ni lani e better do what she has to do.. makipagsabayan siya.. parehas may pangalan at parehas may sinasabi.. pero siempre gusto SIGURO ng iba na ibang style naman.. anyways hoping that bacoor would be the 5th city in cavite..
btw, saw this congratulatory message of the first couple of dasmarinas.. could somebody took a picture of it and post it here.. hindi ko kasi siya mabasa maige.. wala kasing ganun sa village namin.. hindi na sila naglagay sa mga major roads na lang sila naglagay..

Agree here.
And from the horses mouth (from my friend who belongs to the Aguinaldo clan), the Aguinaldo's will support Abaya.

One more thing I was surprise that it will take you a very long queue to get out from the parking lot of picnic groove. Kasi from entrance they will provide you yun integrated entrance and car ticket. Then you have to pay the fee inside the place they called "Golden Salakot". If you didn't pay earlier as I did, you have to patiently wait in the long lines and it took me about 30-45 mins.

I've never been to the Picnic Grove but my cousins just visited there and were so dismayed by the lack of upkeep, especially its bathrooms. The Mayor of Tagaytay should do something about it since there are really no other public places where you can have a good view of the lake and the volcano unless you are a paying patron of one of the restaurants along the ridge.
bagumbayani December 8th, 2009, 04:38 AM I watched the Living Asia Channel on Cavite yesterday. Cavite has a lot to offer in terms of history and recreational/dining facilities. Kailangan lang alagaan ng mga public officials, especially the congestion on its main highways and the lack of effective trash management. Island Cove, for example, will be a good place to visit but you will be dismayed by the filth before you get into its gates. Tagaytay seems to be getting that way. For a premier tourist spot in the country, the city is becoming a filty city. I hope Mayor Tolentino will get a hint from Mayors Hagedorn/Fernando/Duterte on trash discipline. It's so embarassing to see all kinds of trash along its main road.

Kung ako lamang ay botante ng Bacoor I will vote for Lani Mercado.
Pidi and Mayor Jenny Barzaga.

Paul George Alcala December 9th, 2009, 01:07 PM 21 vie for congressional race in Cavite’s 7 reconstituted districtsDecember 7, 2009, 6:49pmTwenty-one candidates are running for the congressional race in Cavite’s seven newly-reconstituted districts.
Lawyer Juanito V. Ravanzo Jr., Cavite Commission on Elections (Comelec) supervisor, has released the official list of the 21 congressional candidates after he approved their certificates of candidacy.
Malacañang and Congress approved the measure increasing the number of congressional districts of Cavite from three to seven early last month.
With the approval, Dasmariñas City and Imus and Bacoor towns were each constituted into a solo district while the other 17 towns and three cities were reintegrated into four districts.
With the redistricting, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, and Cavite City would now make up the first district, Bacoor, Imus and Dasmariñas City would comprise the second, third and fourth districts, respectively Carmona, General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) and Silang would compose the fifth district; General Trias, Alfonso, Tanza, and Trece Martires City the sixth district; and Alfonso, General Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez, Naic, Ternate, and Tagaytay City the seventh district.
Ravanzo said it will be the first time that the electorate would be voting for one member of the House of Representatives and two members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board) in each seven districts of the province.
During the 2007 elections, there were only three districts in the province.
The election official confirmed that there are 83 candidates vying for the 23 provincial seats. He said six are running for governor, seven for vice-governor, 49 for 14 Sangguniang Panglalawigan (provincial board) seats and 21 for seven congressional seats.
The official congressional candidates are incumbent Rep. Joseph Emilio A. Abaya (Liberal Party (LP), Adel C. Dinero (Independent), incumbent Cavite City Mayor Bernardo S. Paredes (Lakas-Kampi-CMD) for 1st district,
Plaridel M. Abaya (LP), Gerbie P. Ber Ado (Independent), Lani Mercado-Revilla (Lakas-Kampi-CMD), 2nd district (Bacoor);
Eric A. Cerojano, Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL), incumbent Governor Erineo S. Maliksi (LP), Nelia C. Servada (Alpha Omega 9K (AO9K)) and Lawyer Albert T. Villaseca (Lakas-Kampi-CMD), 3rd district (Imus);
incumbent Rep. Elpidio F. Barzaga Jr., (Lakas-Kampi-CMD), Fernando C. Campos Ramon N. Campos (Nacionalista Party (NP) and Editha G. Doroteo, AO 9K, fourth district (Dasmarinas City);
Armando A. de Castro (Lakas-Kampi-CMD) and Roy M. Loyola (LP), 5th district;
Hermogenes F. Arayata Jr. (LP), Antonio A. Ferrer (Lakas-Kamp-CMD), Rosario C. Gonzales (AO 9K), 6th district;
and incumbent Representative Jesus Crispin Remulla (NP) and Laureano S. Mendoza (LP).

This I may not favor. :)
Just my two sentimos.
Waldenstrom December 10th, 2009, 06:58 AM I think we are only 5 Dasmarineños here. :)
I'm also not in favor of having a separate thread for Dasma for now. Although, I won't have any problem if this thread will be renamed 'Dasmariñas & Tagaytay cities & Cavite Province'. I still want 'Tagaytay' to be there bec. of the lots of developments goin' on there.. it's our tourism capital and it's the city we all love. Dasma on the other hand, has more than 1/4 of Cavite's total population, newest & the 11th biggest city of the country and the only 1st class city of the province.
Anyway, it's just my opinion. It's already in the discretion of the mods.

Though I'm in support of it, I kinda feel left out since there are two other cities in the province namely Trece Martires City and Cavite City, myself being a resident of the latter. Though I do recognize that both cities has yet to prove their worth to be mentioned....I think...

Del Abaya has actually not done anything concrete in Bacoor. During his incumbency together with the unlamented Mayor Jessie Castillo, Bacoor was a complete model for urban decay and under development. I remember in 2007 when he stepped down from the mayorship, Bacoor was like a mini smokey mountain. In fairness, right after Strike took over, the garbage along Aguinaldo was immediately removed. Up to now you won't see the mountains of garbage in Aguinaldo anymore. If only for his efficient garbage disposal, maybe Strike deserves a second chance.
As far as Abaya is concerned, I really cannot see his accomplishments in Bacoor. Maybe in the other towns especially Kawit where he is from. Is there in any other alternative candidate in Bacoor other than Lani and Abaya? Well Abaya is really Ilocano, he just married somebody from the Aguinaldo clan.

ever since i was a voter of bacoor, di ko talaga binoto 'yang si castillo na yan. nabweset talaga ako sa taong yan. imagine, nangangampanyan yan sa covered court ng barangay na malapit sa prinza (papuntang molino), sa kalalimlaliman ng gabi, 'yong mga tauhan n'ya haharang harang sa daan at wala ngang sasakyan na pinadaan sa national road. that's the first time na nakaranas ako ng ganung experience:bash::bash::bash: i would say, isa s'yang (traffic) violator.... rather, I would say, how can he be a good example kung ganun ang pinaggagawa nila. kung mangampanya s'ya wala namang problema, pero pahintuin ang mga sasakyan ng isang oras na dis-oras na ng gabi, that's means a lot. kaya ang masasabi ko lang, be vigilant sa mga nangangadidato ngayon. maraming trapo talaga. sa ngayon, ang masasabi ko lang na hindi nasayang ang pagboto ko kay strike, he really made a difference. i hope, he can improve a lot pa sa bacoor kahit hindi na ako 'don nakatira...

It's actually small compared to how I imagined it. But the important thing is it serves it purpose to accommodate the crowd from the nearby areas.

In my opinion, this is how SM Mall segment the province of Cavite.
1. SM Bacoor - Bacoor, Imus, Kawit
2. SM Dasmarinas - Upland Cavite, Carmona, Trece Martires
3. SM Molino - Areas near Molino, Bahayang Pag-asa
4. SM Rosario - Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza, Gen. Trias, Naic, Maragondon, Ternate
Non-Cavite SM Malls
1. SM Las Pinas and SM Southmall - Parts of Bacoor
2. SM Mall of Asia - Basically, all :D
With the establishment of ferry routes from Coastal Cavite to Mall of Asia, many Cavitenos go to the said mall. I just hope it improves it's services because I find the ferry to be very slow compared to the ones back in the 90's, namely Marilag and Mt. Samat. Also, I would like to see an increase in the routes that Metro Star Ferry has because areas like Rosario, Tanza and Naic could be tapped for their expansion as well as those areas around Manila Bay.

hecky12 December 16th, 2009, 01:51 AM Savemore will soon open in the Mendez Crossing area. At least Tagaytay is booming with more large grocery stores opening recently - Robinson's, Puregold Jr,, and soon Savemore. The enhanced competetion will result in cheaper prices I hope.
so savemore na pala ang bubuksan sa tagaytay hindi na sm city tagaytay? nga pala out of topic ito.. saan papunta yung sss tagaytay kung sa olivarez ako bababa coming from palapala? ano ang sasakyan ko? yung papuntang picnic grove or right turn?
bagumbayani December 16th, 2009, 03:28 AM so savemore na pala ang bubuksan sa tagaytay hindi na sm city tagaytay? nga pala out of topic ito.. saan papunta yung sss tagaytay kung sa olivarez ako bababa coming from palapala? ano ang sasakyan ko? yung papuntang picnic grove or right turn?
Turn right going to Batangas. I think SM still has a plan to have a mall on its property beside the PAGCOR casino and right across its Taal Vista Hotel. 2011 or beyond pa however ang planned construction. Right now its priority is to complete its Wind Residence condominium complex located beside Robinsons and across Josephine's.
bagumbayani December 16th, 2009, 03:29 AM Oops sorry. I don't know where SSS Tagaytay is.

How about the LRT South extension, kelan kaya eto uumpisahan?

detours December 18th, 2009, 09:56 AM post lang po ako ng Congratulations sa City of Dasmariñas.I am so glad to know that finally you became a city..explain ko lang po on my next visit here on why I am so happy about it...(the Cityhood)

yeah.. yun nga una kong naisip e baka puregold dasma ang itayo sa kanto ng dasma pero i doubt.. is there any plans to have another sikat na mall sa dasma? like starmall?

I am not a Revilla-Bautista clan fan (I will definitely not vote nor I have ever voted for Bong Revilla) kaya lang ang sinasabi ko compare mo naman yung performance ni Strike kay Castillo, no contest na naman siguro. I am just giving credit were credit is due.

Pacensya na bro pero Im not excited seeing another SM in Cavite.
I rather see more Cavitenos putting up their own businesses (SMEs).
In my opinion, malls tend to bring down the viability of small retailers....plus the concomitant traffic and congestion.
And I hope if there will be more establishments to be put up in Cavite, it will be away from Aguinaldo highway...

I think pwede talaga ang Salitran gawan ng SM pero maliit lang kagaya sa SM Center Las Pinas or SM Pasig(the smallest SM mall) Or kahit Savemore na lang na may BDO at konting fastfood like SM Savemore Nagtahan

May pag-asa pa ang Imus. kahit sabihin natin napagiwanan sya ng Dasmarinas, eh maunlad pa rin sya compare to other municipalities sa Philippines. Kahit maging city pa ang Imus by 2011-2013 ay mas maunlad pa rin compare to other cities in the Philippines.

It's just frustrating lang!
@Fall_17. ;)

I'm not kidding here pero ever since elementary pa ako, narinig ko na yang plano ng LRT...kinokonstruct pa lang ang SM Bacoor sa tapat ng school namin (CSSM). Ngayon na naka-gradweyt na at may trabaho na...hanggang ngayon wala pa rin.
Naunahan pa ang plano ng North Extension!

One thing about economic and/or industrial zones: They should be located in a place where ROADS are ample enough for trade to commence. Aguinaldo Highway is so saturated with these trucks, day-in, day out.
I hope they would rush the Daang Hari-Coastal Road Extension Link and CALA or else, Cavite's economy would be severely damaged by the lack of infrastructure that serve the industrial base and its residences.
One thing that Laguna has an advantage over Cavite would be SLEX. I hope Coastal Road and CALA would be our advantage as well in the NEAR future.

because bacoor-imus is very bottlenect area.
fall_17 December 21st, 2009, 08:09 PM Ipag laban nyo ang buhay nyo.:bash::lol::nuts::lol:
It would be unprofitable if it would pass by less-denser areas such as Molino as compared to an already saturated Aguinaldo Highway. And most of the passengers of the LRT would be residents coming from Bacoor, Imus and Dasmariñas. The number of passengers would augment operating expenses the LRT incurs through their payment of fares.
I believe the aim of a metro or even a light rail transit is to provide the citizens of an effective and fast mass transportation. ;)
fall_17 December 21st, 2009, 08:14 PM By the way tama sabi mo.
Paul George Alcala December 21st, 2009, 08:46 PM In my opinion kahit magkakatratrafic trafic basta gawin ang LRT South.
Dati pati Valentines Day meron si Pidi.

True.
Uunlad pa ang Imus. Pero sana controlled growth. Hindi lahat ng makikitang vacant gagawing residential, commercial or industrial sites.
At least ang Dasmarinas, highly urbanized but definitely has alot of greeneries.
habagatcentral1 December 22nd, 2009, 05:45 AM ^^ Weird, its just that back then Patindig Araw was just a minor intersection. Now, it is where kalbaryo starts..Hmmm...given the fact that it is one of the outlets of one of Imus's richest barangays (Buhay na Tubig).

fall_17 December 22nd, 2009, 10:35 AM that's right..

that's kadiwa park fronting the gym gate of DLSU-D.. waltermart at last re-paint its facade so okay na sa akin yun.. much better sana kung lalgayan nila yun ng second floor or extend it on the right kasi lumalabas ginagawang parking lot ng mga pampasaherong jeep na tumetengga lang naman dun.. as in..

Ganito kasi -- while magka-alyado sina Dorobong at mga Barzaga nationally (parehas na ranking officials ng Lakas-Kampi), ang loyalty ng mga Barzaga ay na kay Unggoy (sabi ni Barzaga dadalhin nya mga kandidato ni Unggoy sa provincial level; wala rin kasing solid candidate ang Lakas-Kampi sa provincial level as De Sagun's ticket is running under Erap's party)
Three words -- gamitan lang yan.

Paul George Alcala December 26th, 2009, 06:08 PM Barzagas vie for Dasmariñas top postsBy ANTHONY GIRONDecember 23, 2009, 3:47pmIncumbent Mayor Jennifer A. Barzaga and her husband, Rep. Elpidio F. Barzaga Jr., are seeking reelection in the newly-reconstituted Dasmariñas City district in the coming elections.
This developed as Apolonio A. Ramos Jr., Dasmariñas-Commission on Elections (Comelec) officer, said that a candidate has withdrawn from the city council race.
Ramos said that Reynaldo S. Dinero of Nacionalista Party filed his withdrawal affidavit last Dec. 18, citing “lack of election fund” as his reason.
“In his affidavit, Reynaldo Dinero said he could not support his candidacy as he has no fund for the election,” said Ramos.
The Barzaga couple and Dinero are among the 57 candidates running for the top city positions in the May 10, 2010 elections.
Dasmariñas became a city and lone district only last month. It will be the first time that the electorate would be voting for one House of Representatives member and two board members. Dasmariñas has the highest number of election candidates among the 19 towns and four cities of the province, Comelec records showed.

10km away to SM Bacoor, 6-7 km away to SM Dasmarinas and 6-7Km away to SM Molino. medyo malapit sa dalawang Robinsons mall halos 6-7 km away pareho sa Robinsons Imus and Robinsons Dasmarinas.
I prefer going to SM and Robinsons Dasmarinas kasi lagi traffic sa Imus

hecky12 December 31st, 2009, 07:17 PM im expecting a more progressive dasmarinas city...

Tigil na convertion ng agricultural lands for other purposes.
Dasma, on the right track with more greens and parks. More pa.
Bacoor and Imus, more greens din.

Wala ba salawag high school, o nga wala pa akong nakitang highschool jan..^^

Salawag. Galing Molino, Sta. Catalina muna, Avida Dasma tapos yung kadikit na Sta. Cecilia.
fall_17 January 2nd, 2010, 06:12 AM At sana maextend yung Molino Road papuntang Silang proper.

hecky12 January 2nd, 2010, 04:14 PM huh?! naguluhan ako sa geography nyo ha. the way i see it.. kung galing ka ng sm molino going to paliparan.. may dalawang avida ka na madadaanan.. yung dalawang yun is part of Bacoor so counted as 1 Avida.. then yung sumunod is Avida Residences ito yung nasa salawag so counted as 1 Avida so 2 Avida lang yun kasi yung isa Avida Settings? not sure eto yung nasa kaliwa from Sm molino then yung isang Avida ____ nasa kanan from sm molino then Avida Residence Dasmarinas kaliwa after ng salawag going to paliparan...
If ayala plans to have a mall here.. anong mall kaya? Town Center? o Ayala Center?
hecky12 January 2nd, 2010, 04:18 PM yeah! i love the interior of SM Bacoor.. i love the theme color of the stairs.. tagal din ng renovation nila ano... it took 12 years to have that look.. sabagay hindi pa naman uso yung ganyan kalalaking tiles..
SM Dasma e on its way pa lang.. dapat magawan ng paraan yung too much sunlight.. i mean sobrang liwanag halos hindi na makita ang interior.. on May 21, 2010 e 6yrs old na ang SM Dasma so sana on its 6th bday e maganda ganda naman na ang interior at exterior niya at magkaron ng extension sana..

Siguro by this year magkakaroon na rin ng makeover ang SM City Dasma (and SM Molino) at i-uupdate ang logo para maging uniform with the rest of the SM mall family.
karirista January 2nd, 2010, 06:58 PM Nakapagtataka, umatras pala si Peter Abaya sa mayoral race sa Bacoor kaya ang labas nito Strike Revilla vs Jessie Castillo...kalooy ni...baka blangko local candidates ko...Revilla IS NOT worth voting for, but Castillo ISN'T either...
====================
2 Castillos contesting Bacoor mayoral race (http://mb.com.ph/node/235926/2-ca)
Two contenders with same surname are running for mayor in Bacoor, Cavite, the local Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.
Lawyer Juanito V. Ravanzo Jr., Cavite Provincial Comelec supervisor, identified the two as Jessie B. Castillo and Alexander M. Castillo.
Ravanzo, also officer-in-charge of Bacoor-Comelec office, said that Jessie is a candidate of the Nacionalista Party (NP) while Alexander is an independent.
The two Castillos are the only two candidates who would vie against incumbent Mayor Strike Revilla in the upcoming elections.
Jessie joined the 2010 mayoral race after having been away in the political arena in the last election season. He was a former mayor of the town who was elected for three consecutive terms.
Officials said that Alexander is a virtual unknown candidate.
The electorate considered the fight between Revilla and Jessie as a “battle of heavyweights.”
At 39, Revilla (real name: Edwin Mortel Bautista) is the youngest mayor in Cavite. He is the fifth son of former Senator Ramon B. Revilla Sr. and younger brother of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla.
The 2007 town elections were one of the most hotly-contested in the political history of Bacoor where the young Revilla was declared the winner.
Revilla won over Vice Mayor Edwin Malvar in the protest-marred contest on that year. Malvar decided later to withdraw his protest in the election “in the spirit of reconciliation and unity and for peace and order.”
Jessie, 53, is a former Special Assistant to then-Cavite governor Juanito Remulla. He was elected mayor for three terms from 1998 until 2007.
Records showed that Jessie was declared the duly-elected mayor in the 1995 elections four months before the 1998 elections after the court upheld his complaint of vote-rigging against the winning opponent.
Bacoor, the so-called gateway of Cavite, is a first-class urban municipality. With 441,197 people residing in the town’s 73 barangays (villages), based on latest census survey, the area is considered the most populous in the country following the conversion of Dasmariñas, also in Cavite, as a city.
Ravanzo said that there are only two candidates in the vice mayoral race namely incumbent Vice Mayor Rosette-Miranda Fernando, running-mate of Revilla, and Ma. Magdalena Gawaran-Ortiz, Jessie’s partner.
Running as congressmen in the newly-reconstituted Bacoor lone district are Lani Mercado-Revilla (Lakas-Kampi-CMD), wife of Senator Bong Revilla; Plaridel M. Abaya (Liberal Party) and Gerbie F. Ber Ado (Independent).
There are 21 contenders vying for the town’s eight council seats and five for the provincial board race, the Provincial Comelec list showed.
Waldenstrom January 3rd, 2010, 01:13 AM ^^ I thought Strike Revilla is doing well.

hecky12 January 3rd, 2010, 04:26 PM ^^ I thought Strike Revilla is doing well.

bagumbayani January 4th, 2010, 04:17 AM Hay naku. Sobrang trapik sa Tagaytay last weekend. Kaya lalo tuloy nagbubuhol-buhol. They really need a road to bypass the city. I hope the Nasugbu-Ternate road will be completed soon to ease the traffic passing through the city on their way to Batangas. Even with that, we need additional road sa Tagaytay. The SM Wind Residences will contribute too to the traffic mess.
salamangkero January 4th, 2010, 08:24 AM pinapatag na yung bakanteng lote along the main gate of Camella Springville. can anyone confirm kung Robinsons ito?

Yes sure ako kay Roxas. straight Liberal party ako mula President, vice pres, senators 11 pa lang kasi 11 lang ata pambato ng Liberal party, governor, vice governor EXCEPT SYEMPRE SA mayor, vice mayor, councilors, congressman and board members. Solid ako sa line up ni Pidi and Jenny. kahit may pambato ang Liberal sa Dasma sa line up pa rin ako nina Pidi and Jenny

fall_17 January 4th, 2010, 08:20 PM Hay naku.

-- lantarang korap
-- nagpasara ng istasyon ng pulis, thereby endangering residents
-- manhid
Methinks Bacoor has been shortchanged of deserving candidates. That's why I'll abstain from voting for municipal officials. But for Congress, I'm not gonna vote for a stooge of Gloria and a political appointee sa isang korporasyon na nahirang lang dahil sa utang na loob pero wala namang silbi. At least there's still hope sa larangang yan.

I'm going to help campaign against this stooge of Gloria na wala namang silbi sa SMC board (waste of taxpayers' money)

Castillo? Diyos ko po!:bash:
bbsssc January 6th, 2010, 06:20 AM I think Bacoor is more clean and organize now than in times of Castillo. It was funny reading JBC all-over Bacoor during Castillo's hey days.
habagatcentral1 January 6th, 2010, 06:33 AM ^^ IMHO, I beg to disagree.

I thought that the city administration will do something to clean and beautify the Aguinaldo Hwy area immediately before you get to the rotunda. Right now, it is a mess and really not very pleasing to visitors of the city. The traffic is also horrible.

For me, one of the best show windows that a politician aspiring to leave a legacy to his constituents is on how he maintains the cleanliness of the locality. The Fernandos will forever be remembered by the people of Marikina because from day one of their administration, they cleaned up the entire city. Up to now, halos wala kang makitang maraming kalat sa mga kalye nila. Same is true with Imus and Las Pinas, that is why the garbage laden streets of Bacoor during the time of Castillo was very obvious because when you pass by Las Pinas the streets are clean, then when you enter Bacoor the smell stinked along Aguinaldo especially the space near St. Dominic and Servitek. Imus has maintained its cleanliness through the years.
BTW, I just noticed that Aguinaldo Highway starting from Coastal Road up to the Imus boundary I think, is now well lighted. First time in history yata ito sa Bacoor.
If Bacoor becomes a city, with its additional income, maybe it will be as progressive and presentable as Dasma.
