I'm going to help campaign against this stooge of Gloria na wala namang silbi sa SMC board (waste of taxpayers' money)

karirista January 8th, 2010, 05:57 AM Don't get me wrong, but Strike Revilla is dangerously treading the path of Asspog Castillo here (except for the basura). Besides, he's the only municipal mayor in Cavite who's openly endorsing Gloria's stooge Gilbert Teodoro, that's why I'm not voting for anyone in the Bacoor municipal level.

It's official. May SM and Robinsons malls. At marami pang iba.

I always wonder, part ng Silang ang Bulihan pero until now wala paring direct road from Bulihan papuntang town proper ng Silang, if we have to go the Municipal Hall or elsewhere, kailangan pa namin umikot ng Dasmarinas (Gov.'s Dr then Aguinaldo) or Carmona (via Maguyam).. mas malapit pa kami sa GMA, I don't know sana gawin na lang part ng GMA ang Bulihan..

modern-looking lampposts in Anabu

Heck even Mayor Strike Revilla dared to call the streetlight posts he installed in the Talaba area as modern.
lgseccionph January 13th, 2010, 05:41 PM Crown Regency plans more projects this year (http://businessmirror.com.ph/home/companies/20850-crown-regency-plans-more-projects-this-year.html)
CEBU-based Crown Regency is set to complete four more major projects this year with several more in the pipeline. This, as the hotel and condotel chain pursues its plan to become the biggest and most unique of its kind in the country.
Vice president Jose Maria Gianzon of developer Fuente Triangle Development Corp. said Crown Regency’s new projects will support the company’s “rotating lifestyle” business concept, with benefits of property owners and investors in one Crown Regency development transferable to its other units in the country.
“We are not the biggest real estate company in the country but I believe we can compete with the best of them in terms of idea and concepts,” Gianzon said.
Fuente Triangle is set to start the third and fourth towers in its complex in Fuente Osmeña in Cebu City—the Ultimate Residences Tower 3 and the Ultima Prime Tower 4. It is also finishing the Ultima Residences Ramos Tower and Crown Regency Resort and Convention Center in Boracay.
Gianzon would not reveal details on the company investments in the projects. However, he said they are targeting P1.2 billion in sales for 2010.
In the pipeline are the City Loft Mango residences and the Crown Regency Condotel in Panglao Island in Bohol. Also on the drawing board are Crown Regency projects in Tagaytay and two more towers in Cebu—in Ranudo and Jakosalem streets, all located in uptown Cebu City.
Jose Rene Jereza, Fuente Triangle assistant vice president for inventory control and information, said the Boracay project is already 36-percent sold with the first five of the sprawling 12-building complex set to be completed this year. The project is set for full operations in 2012.
“There are 400 workers there and they are building the biggest swimming pool—that is 1,800 square meters in size,” Jereza said.
The Ramos project is said to be 92-percent sold while the 400-unit upper-market Ultra Prime Tower 4 in Fuente Osmeña is reportedly 87-percent sold.
Fuente Triangle is a subsidiary of J. King and Sons Co. Inc.

lgseccionph January 19th, 2010, 11:40 AM PEZA grants perks to agri-ecozone
MANILA, Jan. 19 (PNA) --The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has approved the granting of tax and fiscal incentives to the agro-industrial economic zone that will host the P3.4-billion bioethanol plant of Cavite Biofuels Producers Inc. (CBPI) in Magallanes, Cavite.
In a report to Trade and Industry Secretary Peter B. Favila, PEZA director-general Lilia B. De Lima said that four titled lots would be consolidated for the project.
In July last year, the CBPI submitted a letter of intent to Lobo-Lobo Development Corp. (LLDC) for the purchase of the land. CBPI and LLDC are expected to sign a conditional purchase agreement with the intention of finalizing the transfer of the property prior to financial closure.
The total investment for the land development is P55 million, including the cost of the land, transfer of ownership and conversion.
The P55 million would be taken from the equity of the proposed P3.4 billion bioethanol facility.
CBPI has proposed to raise 30 percent of the P3.428 billion total project cost from equity investors.
Of the 24.56 hectare property, 10 hectares will be allocated for agro-industrial area, another 10 hectares as buffer zone and open space and the remaining 4.5 hectares for common utility area.
Site development is expected to start in April this year and completion by 2012.
The project calls for the establishment of an integrated ethanol distillery and power cogeneration plant with a capacity of 125,000 liters per day and a power generating capacity of about 5 megawatts.
The proposed project site is suitable for the development of a bioethanol plant in view of the availability of product transport facilities and plant logistics, sugar cane sources, favorable agro-climatic conditions and distillery operations.
The project is also supported by the local government of Cavite.
CBPI is a special purpose company formed in Jan. 2008 by groups led by businessman Antonio Lopa.
The Biofuels Act of 2006 mandates a minimum of five percent ethanol blend to gasoline starting February this year.
CBPI, along with Cavite Sugarcane Planters Multi-Purpose Cooperative, will develop a bioethanol distillery with 125,000 liters daily capacity in Caluangan, Magallanes, Cavite.
The bioethanol facility will also be able to generate five megawatts of power.
In September last year, CBPI and the Cavite sugar planters started their joint sugarcane nursery to supplement the existing sugarcane plantations in the third district of Cavite.
The facility is located close to the oil refineries in Batangas and the Pandacan depot and to the demand centers of Metro Manila and South Luzon, which will address the issue of transport cost.(PNA)
lgseccionph January 19th, 2010, 03:22 PM Ethanol maker bid to create 25ha ecozone OKd
THE GOVERNMENT has approved an ethanol producer's application to establish a 25-hectare economic zone in Magallanes, Cavite.
Cavite Biofuels Producers, Inc. has hurdled the requirements and will only need a presidential proclamation for the property to be recognized as an agro-industrial economic zone where business operations will enjoy tax perks, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority in a statement on Tuesday.
The site will be home to a planned distillery capable of churning out 125,000 liters of ethanol per day.
The decision comes as the project site was deemed "suitable for the development of a bioethanol plant in view of availability of product transport facilities...sugarcane sources and land for expansion, and favorable agro-climatic conditions for sugarcane produce and distillery operations". -- Jessica Anne D. Caviteños urge GMA to spare LRT extension project
MANILA, Philippines - More than 20,000 Caviteňos including sectoral and non-sectoral
groups staged a protest rally in front of the capitol building in Trece Martires City Wednesday morning to protest a government plan to shelve the extension of Light Railway Transit (LRT) Line 1 to Cavite.
Protesters signed a manifesto of support to the Provincial Government’s plea to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo thru the Department of Transportation and Communication to implement the long overdue project.
The LRT Line 1 South Extension Project is an 11.7-kilometer line connecting the existing line southwards from Baclaran to Bacoor traversing municipalities of Paraňaque, Las Piňas, Muntinlupa and the municipality of Bacoor in Cavite.
Cavite Governor Ireneo “ Ayong” Maliksi said he was surprised by the DOTC proposal to scrap the project.
"When I became Congressman I pursued this project. I visited the offices of DOTC and National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) and pushed the approval of this project during the time of President Joseph Estrada," he told ABS-CBN.
Maliksi said he entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with Light Railway Transit Authority (LRTA) supporting this project. “When GMA became President, the implementation agreement was signed,” he added.
He said the traffic condition in Cavite has turned from bad to worse in recent years choking the socio-economic growth potential of the area due to the delay in the implementation of this vital infrastructure and transport project.
“The construction of the LRT 1 South Extension to Cavite has been planned for more than a decade and has been promised time and again by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in her yearly SONA and even during her visits to Cavite during the last 9 years," Maliksi said.
The governor said that LRTA has already acquired properties affected by the alignment for the project including the site for the depot which has been paid for by LRTA. He added that the resettlement site for the affected families is now being developed and will be ready for relocation in about 4 months.
Earlier, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Cavite issued a resolution urging the President to keep her promise to the Caviteňos and explain the decision to scrap the project.

Paul George Alcala January 20th, 2010, 05:53 PM Gov sees politics in move to scrap Cavite LRT plan

TRECE Martires City--Upset that the national government suddenly shelved a plan to extend the Light Railway Transit (LRT) to Cavite, Gov. Erineo “Ayong” Maliksi rallied some 20,000 supporters on Wednesday to call for the continuation of the project.
“This project is 11 years in the making. I was still a mayor then, then I became a congressman, and now I’ve almost completed my term as the governor and we are still pushing for this,” an emotional Maliksi told reporters.
He said the decision of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) to scrap the P1-billion LRT Line 1 South Extension Project (LRT-1 SEP) a few months before the presidential elections came as a surprise.
Newspaper reports earlier quoted Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza as saying that “there’s no more time for it.”
The proposed 11.7-kilometer LRT line will connect the existing railway from south of Baclaran to Bacoor City in Cavite, passing through the cities of Parañaque, Las Piñas and Muntinlupa. At least eight passenger stations will be put up.
“The project has a gestation period of two years and there’s no more time. We decided to leave it to the next administration,” said Maliksi, quoting Mendoza.
The governor said the incoming administration might bring the proponents back to square one.
Politics
The DOTC and the National Economic and Development Authority had been talking with potential project contractors, Maliksi said. The two agencies had also completed studies and found it “advantageous to the government,” he said.
President Macapagal-Arroyo herself had given assurance in her 2009 State of the Nation Address that the LRT-1 SEP would be a “priority project,” he said.
Just before Mendoza’s latest pronouncement of the project’s deferment, proposals from SNC Lavalin, International Finance Corp., the Shanghai Group Corp. for Economic and Technological Cooperation and R-1 Holdings Inc. had already been submitted to the DOTC for its evaluation and approval, but no contract has yet been signed.
“Why are they stopping it now? Why are they scrapping it? Does politics have something to do with this?” Maliksi said before his supporters in front of the provincial capitol here.
Maliksi is running for congressman to represent the lone district of Imus under the Liberal Party (LP) in May.
He said the election ban on government projects should not be a reason to freeze the LRT extension project since this would be foreign-funded.
Commuters, trade affected
It will ease heavy traffic conditions in Cavite, particularly in Bacoor, which is nearest to Metro Manila, Maliksi said. At least one million commute to and from Cavite, but takes them two to three hours of travel time because of road congestion.
The project could also boost trade and commerce in the province, Maliksi said.
“I do not want to attack her (Arroyo), but now I see why her popularity ratings (are low). This is a project for the people (and it was scrapped),” he lamented.
The provincial board has approved a resolution calling for the immediate implementation of the LRT-1 SEP. Maricar Cinco, Inquirer Southern Luzon

Paul George Alcala January 21st, 2010, 10:12 AM Caviteños urge the President not to scrap the LRT south extension project
Trece Martires City --- More than 20,000 Caviteňos from all walks of life including sectoral and non-sectoral groups staged a protest rally in front of the provincial capitol yesterday (January 20, 2010) morning and expressed their great dismay on the recent pronouncement by the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) “scrapping” their long awaited rail project extending the existing LRT Line 1 to Cavite. Protesters signed a manifesto of support to the Provincial Government’s plea to President Arroyo thru the Department of Transportation and Communication to implement the long overdue project..
Traffic condition in Cavite has turned from bad to worse in recent years choking the socio-economic growth potential of the area due to the delay in the implementation of this vital infrastructure and transport project. At least more than one million commuters travel to and from Manila daily wasting at least 2-3 hours in traffic. The construction of the LRT 1 South Extension to Cavite has been planned for more than a decade and has been promised time and again by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in her yearly SONA and even during her visits to Cavite during the last 9 years..
In an interview with the press, Governor Maliksi stressed his great dismay over the scrapping of the project saying he has no idea what could be the reason behind the sudden decision and added that Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) should explain to the people. “This project was started when I was still Mayor of Imus. When I became Congressman I pursued this project. I visited the offices of DOTC and NEDA (National Economic Development Authority) and pushed approval of this project during the time of President Erap. We entered into a MOA with LRTA supporting this project; When GMA became President, the implementation agreement was signed.”
Maliksi said that LRTA has already acquired properties affected by the alignment for the project including the site for the depot which has been paid for by LRTA. He also added that the resettlement site for the affected families is now being developed and will be ready for relocation in about 4 months so the decision to scrap the project came as a shock to Caviteños..
Earlier, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Cavite issued a resolution to urge the President to keep her promise to the Caviteňos and explain why the sudden decision to scrap the project which will sacrifice economic development of the province in the great prejudice to the Caviteňos..

habagatcentral1 January 21st, 2010, 11:21 AM ^^ Tinimbang si Malicsi ngunit kulang, IMO.
I think his switching allegiance has bore heavy on most Caviteños if we are to consider politics as the main root of LRT's scrapping. The scrapping is a disappointment...
I would even ask why EDSA and Bulacan would get their LRTs in no time unlike Cavite who badly needs an effective mass rail transit?
Now I'm also thinking, how about the Coastal Road Extension-Daang Hari Road project and so is the Coastal Road Extension? Are they too in jeopardy as well? I hope not...because if it is...its a dead end for Cavite's prosperity...Aguinaldo Highway is overly saturated (obviously).
Tarlaqueno-ako January 21st, 2010, 01:11 PM Sana ituloy nila yang LRT South extension projects. Ang daming commuters dyan araw araw na nagwowork sa Makati and other parts of Metro Manila.
Hopefully hanggang Dasma.

Senate to probe new LRT project
By Aurea Calica (The Philippine Star)
MANILA, Philippines - Senators will study allegations that the Light Rail Transit 1-South Extension Project was overpriced and awarded to a Chinese firm without public bidding.
Sen. Richard Gordon, chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon committee, said yesterday he would “check and study” reports that there were irregularities in the project.
Sen. Benigno Aquino III said he received information that the LRT 1 extension project was laden with problems, but they have to validate the data.
“We got some tips about certain aspects of it but we haven’t seen the contracts. Without securing documents, we cannot make conclusions at this point. We have to look into the specifications,” he said.
Aquino said they would actually check on the LRT 1-North Extension Project, aside from the LRT 1-South Extension Project.
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) announced the award of the 11.7-kilometer LRT-1 South Extension Project to a Chinese state firm.
STAR columnist Jarius Bondoc earlier said LRT Authority (LRTA) officials originally had budgeted only $683 million, or P32.1 billion at an exchange rate of P47: $1 for the project but “when the China Shanghai (Group) Corp. came in, the rate inexplicably zoomed more than two-and-a-half times to $1.78 billion (P83.66 billion).”
“At $152 million (P7.15 billion) per kilometer, LRT-1 will beat Northrail as the world’s dearest,” Bondoc said, referring to the Northrail project that was allegedly overpriced.
“Again there was no public bidding, only closed-door negotiations at DOTC and lobbying at NEDA (National Economic Development Authority. Again too RP (Philippines) is to borrow construction funds from China EximBank. DOTC Undersecretary Guilling Mamon-diong was silent on whether they will bother to secure Monetary Board assent. He only said in recent press releases that they would soon sign the contract,” Bondoc said.
Election laws in the country bar the government from awarding contracts during the election period, which began last Jan. 10 and ends on June 10.
“Along with the ban on hiring, firing and transferring government personnel, the contracting ban is to prevent election kickbacks. Sitting elective officials are also divested of undue advantage. Violation of the laws would mean disqualification from the campaign, removal from office, and imprisonment of up to six years,” Bondoc said.
The DOTC said the project is aboveboard.
The LRTA said the LRT 1-South Extension Project to Cavite province rose by more than threefold, from $683 million to $1.78 billion because “the revised project cost includes the light rail vehicle (LRV) requirements on account of the Line 1-North Extension Project and the system enhancement works of the entire line during the 40-year concession period.”
The LRTA also recommended to the NEDA the adoption of official development assistance (ODA) as the financing scheme for the implementation of the Cavite extension project.
The LRT 1- South Extension Project aims to extend the existing 15 kilometers LRT Line 1 System southward by an additional 11.7 kilometers, of which about 10.5 kilometers will be elevated and 1.2 kilometers will be at-grade.
The extension will start from the existing line’s last station at Baclaran and will traverse the cities of Parañaque and Las Piñas in Metro Manila and reach the municipality of Bacoor in Cavite.

garycooper January 22nd, 2010, 03:38 AM I'm wondering what were the reasons given for the sudden increase in the project cost of Cavite LRT. From P32 Billion to P83Billion? That is 260% increase! Another NBN-ZTE?
The Cavite LRT project should be given utmost priority by the next administration. Just imagine the benefit that will be derived from it. Since Cavite is now the bedroom of Metro Manila, its residents will be greatly benefited it terms of travel time. It will definitely lessen the traffic in Aguinaldo especially if the route will be up to Dasma. Kung hanggang Niog lang, traffic along the Bacoor portion of Aguinaldo might not improve significantly because the number of PU vehicles might double to ferry the LRT passengers to Imus, Dasma, Kawit Noveleta, etc..

2nd scenario: all presidentiables = Aquino wins
3rd scenario: Aquino vs. Villar vs. Estrada = Aquino wins
4th scenario: Aquino vs. Villar vs. Teodoro = Aquino wins
2,100 respondents...

Waldenstrom January 25th, 2010, 02:02 PM Ok lang yan, Dasmariñas already have 2 DLSU's and other universities. Para naman kalat ang developments sa Cavite.
FEU will also offer health-related courses so I think they wouldn't want to directly compete with DLSU-health sciences and EAC in terms of students' enrollment. Speaking of schools, St. Paul will also have a branch in Kawit right?
Cavite is becoming the home of Manila-based schools extensions. Di lang natuloy dito yung Ateneo which was rumored to be constructed in front of Robinson's Dasma.
Few years ago, there was a planned extension of DLSU in General Trias where they would transfer agri-business courses.

Nakalagay dun.... someting like this "Pangulong Arroyo wag naman sana mapako ang pangako nyong LRT extension".
Speaking of that overpass. nakalagay dun project of Imus government. Di ba nasa dasmarinas proper na sya.

hecky12 January 28th, 2010, 12:42 AM Corregidor has a very high quality of historical past. That's what I've learned from my history class. The place is very historical, as you will observe to the place. Once you look it, you can see the past and you can also imagine all the things that happened on that time. Nowadays, it is maintained just like other places. I hope it will also maintain in the future.

ibig sabihin yung welcome dasmarinas sa may orchard ay dasmarinas part tapos pagdating sa may golden overpass imus ulit then dasma ulit paglampas. tama ba? Ano kaya address ng Mini Stop dun Imus or Dasma?
(not the exact words though)
fall_17: DLSU-Dasma extension of agri-business course sa GenTri yun.
Paul_George: part ng Diamond Village yun so that is already part of Dasma. Yung Golden city sa likod, Imus na.

yup parang ganun.. as in boundary talaga ng imus at dasma ang area.. if you analyze it.. yung entrance ng orcahrd nasa imus part pero yung add nila ay dasma.. yung golden city entrance at dasma part pero the village itself at imus part.. so yung area na yun ay talagang boundary.. isipin mo na lang na may imaginary line dun..
yup malamang imus address yung ministop dun saka yung kabilang part yung may kawloon ba yun at yung parang motmot dun.. then dasma address na yung hyundau at yung caltex at yung greencross..

Waldenstrom February 2nd, 2010, 11:07 AM Rehabilitation of coastal area at Naic, Cavite
The first mangrove planting and coastal clean-up for this year was held last January 16, 2010 in FreedomVille Coastal Area, Brgy. Bucana Sasahan, Naic, Cavite and was attended by Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) Head Ms. Anabelle Cayabyab along with Ms. Amanette Pulido, Ms. Charmie Celeste Garcia and Mr. David Velarde..
The said activity is a joint activity of the Provincial Government with the LGU of Naic, Cavite represented by Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Eva Pangilinan and the Department of Agriculture represented by Mr. Edrich Caparas. As part of the activity, 39 volunteers from De La Salle University-Greenhills headed by Prof. Ver Antiqueño participated and were given first with briefing on mangroves and its importance.
It is interesting to note that the community in the area who happens to be former squatters from Parañaque City organized themselves as Gabay ng Gintong Layunin (GGL) actively participated in the activity. They provided the sticks which serve as support for the newly planted propagules.
After the coastal clean-up, the garbage were identified and weighed prior to its disposal. Rehabilitation of degraded mangrove areas is a continuous project of the provincial government of Cavite thru Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) Division, Provincial Government- Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO).

Waldenstrom February 2nd, 2010, 11:10 AM Gov. Ayong launched Oplan Linis Imus Project
The Province of Cavite thru its conscientious and environmental minded governor launched the Oplan Linis Imus Project early this year thru the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) headed by Engr. Rolinio P. Pozas in coordination with the Municipality of Imus thru the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) headed by Mrs. Corazon Z. del Mundo.
This project aims to initiate an activity that will show cooperation and awareness of the Imuseños towards environmental protection and preservation. Known for its revolutionary attribute, the “IMUSEÑO: REBOLUSYONARYO PARA SA KALIKASAN” was conceptualized for the said project. Clean-up operation is being conducted every Saturday in nine (9) barangay clusters in Imus, Cavite which commenced last January 9, 2010.

karirista February 2nd, 2010, 01:46 PM If the Campaña-Cantimbuhan team wins in this election, they will carry out the transfer of the capitol from Trece Martires to Imus, sa lupain sa may bandang Palico. This will effectively strip Trece Martires of being the "seat of government" if this pans out.
Do you think transferring the physical location of the Cavite Capitol from the "seat of government" (Cavite is one of three provinces in the Philippines in which the seat of government is different from the provincial capital) will help Cavite?
Waldenstrom February 2nd, 2010, 04:49 PM ^^ It's impractical and Imus is also quite hard to reach nowadays due to its worsening traffic condition.
The capitol should stay Trece Martirez City because of its accessibility from other cities and towns in the province.
Anyway, let's continue our discussion at thread 4!

In terms of tenants, actually problema din ng Sm Dasma yan. Yung third floor, ang daming bakante.
Siguro, dapat alisin na ng Rob Dasma yung Terraza and put all the restaurants in one area inside the mall. At the same time reduce the rents and help local entrepreneurs by giving discounted rates.

Dati malaki yung Tropical Supermarket sa Talaba. Nang magbukas yung SM Bacoor di tumagal nagsara din just after two years yata.

Four firms in Cavite recently received PhP3.50M in technical and financial assistance from DOST CALABARZON through its Provincial S&T Center (PSTC). Engr. Raul D. Castañeda, S&T director of PSTC-Cavite, assisted the four firms under the Small Enterprises Upgrading Program (SETUP) in acquiring state of the art equipment while four other enterprises received technical assistance in developing a packaging system.
Ronilo F. Adubal of JANLEN International in Luciano, Trece Martires City acquired a powder coating equipment worth PhP0.96M. JANLEN will use the machinery to provide metal parts of various handicraft products an attractive and evenly coated paint finish. Use of the equipment will enable the company to increase its annual production volume by 10 percent and reduce its painting cost by 20 percent.
In Mendez, PSTC-Cavite assisted Percival DV. Perez of Perez Veggie Fuels in developing a vortex mixer for Biofuels production from used vegetable oils and Jatropha curcas. A local fabricator has started work on the mixer using locally available materials.
Perez Veggie Fuels received financial assistance of PhP0.52M to acquire the mixer. Production using the Biofuels processor will start early in 2009 and is expected to increase monthly production volume from 1,000 L to 7,800 L valued at PhP90T.
On the other hand, Leonardo P. Angeles of L. Angeles Machineries Corp. (LAMACO) in Bacoor worked with the provincial S&T center in acquiring a lathe machine worth PhP0.99M. Use of the new equipment will improve LAMACO’s capability to design and manufacture woodworking and metalworking machineries, hydraulic-operated and pneumatic machines, including foundry works.
Once installed, LAMACO expects to increase their production volume by 10 percent and their gross sales by 20 percent.
Lastly, Mayor Jenny A. Barzaga received on behalf of the Municipality of Dasmariñas PhP0.99M in financial assistance to acquire a bioreactor designed by DOST-ITDI. The machine will enable Dasmariñas to convert its market wastes into an income generating enterprise that will benefit its residents and farmers through the availability of low-cost organic fertilizer.
PSTC-Cavite, the Tanauan Packaging Service Center, and the Packaging Research and Development Center of the Philippines, also conjoined to develop for four firms packaging and labeling system appropriate for their product. Firms that were assisted include Alfonso Tablea in Alfonso for its cacao/chocolate mix; Bendita Farmers MPC in Magallanes for its organic foods; Munting Ilog Rural Improvement Council in Silang for its processed meat products; and Ocean Fresh Tahong Chips in Bacoor for its Tahong Chips. Four firms in Cavite recently received PhP3.50M in technical and financial assistance from DOST CALABARZON through its Provincial S&T Center (PSTC). Engr. Raul D. Castañeda, S&T director of PSTC-Cavite, assisted the four firms under the Small Enterprises Upgrading Program (SETUP) in acquiring state of the art equipment while four other enterprises received technical assistance in developing a packaging system
Firms that were assisted include Alfonso Tablea in Alfonso for its cacao/chocolate mix; Bendita Farmers MPC in Magallanes for its organic foods; Munting Ilog Rural Improvement Council in Silang for its processed meat products; and Ocean Fresh Tahong Chips in Bacoor for its Tahong Chips. kainis naman yung writer ng article na ito.

In the matter of naming of districts ,well it is just proper to not assign a number to the newly created cities with one district.it should be properly tagged as Lone District. In the case of Imus and Bacoor, even if they are soon to be a city the number of the district to where they belong would not be changed yet.It is just okey if they have other towns comprising it but if they become cities and will be each a district ,the name should be Lone District of Dasmariñas,Lone District of Imus or Lone District of Bacoor.very nice nga naman ,pleasant to the ears.and somewhat distinctive as a big city because it has one district representative in Congress.

MANILA, Philippines—President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has ordered the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) to fast-track the planned extension of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) line 1 to Cavite province.
While checking on the progress of the LRT north extension project, which connects Line 1 with Edsa’s Metro Rail Transit (MRT) system, the President on Thursday revived plans to extend the overhead train line to benefit commuters from the southern outskirts of Metro Manila.
The LRT North Extension project involves the construction of a 5.4-kilometer elevated viaduct to connect the LRT’s northernmost station, Monumento, to the MRT’s North Avenue station on EDSA.
The P7.6-billion project built by DM Consunji Inc. and First Balfour Inc. will add three new stations on the northern end of the LRT line 1 — Balintawak, Roosevelt and North Avenue — all along Edsa. The last station will be shared with the MRT.
By the middle of next month, LRT Authority (LRTA) Administrator Melquiades Robles said the government would open only the Balintawak station, which has been strategically located to benefit commuters coming from the North Luzon Expressway.
While trains can already pass through all stations, more tests would be done to ensure the safety of the Roosevelt and North Avenue stations, Robles said.
Once operational, Robles said the extension could boost the number of people riding the LRT line by as up to 100,000 a day. LRT 1 ferries an average of half a million people daily. The Light Rail Transit Authority expects to have all three new stations operational before the third quarter of this year.
Robles said the North Extension, dubbed as “Closing the Loop,” was one of the cheapest and fastest built infrastructure projects the government commissioned. Even more noteworthy, he said, was that this was completely funded locally, and while most toll roads and train systems are foreign-made, the LRT extension was built by Filipinos.
“The President has told us to open the LRT North Extension as soon as possible. We want to have a partial opening by March 15,” Robles said.
“But what she wants next is the LRT south extension,” he added.
The LRT South Extension, which was earlier shelved by the DOTC, aims to extend Metro Manila’s oldest and most utilized train line to Imus or Bacoor cities in Cavite, from the current southern end in Baclaran, Pasay City.
The South Extension, estimated to cost about $1 billion, will add about 15 kilometers of new tracks to the LRT line 1. The Cavite extension has been on the state’s drawing board for years, but no real plans have been firmed up so far.
The South Extension will in turn add another 200,000 passengers a day to the LRT’s capacity.

This is good news.
But the incoming elected officials fo Cavite should focus on other infrastructure projects to decongest Cavite streets of traffic especially the Imus-Bacoor area.
jpdm March 7th, 2010, 05:11 AM But I think its more realistic to revive and extend the PNR line from Carmona up to Rosario if possible. To serve the numerous industrial estates located in that industrial belt.

I think hindi kailangan maging HUC bago maging 2 districts. Antipolo City has 2 districts pero hindi sya HUC
Correct. A city can very well be an HUC once it reaches income requirement as well as population requirement of at least 200K. It doesn't need to have two districts, or even a lone district.

detours March 15th, 2010, 09:14 AM undoubtedly,Cavite coffee is the best now adays...I will vote for Alfonso coffee kung may botohan sa may pinakamasarap na cafe...people of Taywanak, you served me good coffee when I was there...keep it up mga katoto.produce more of that coffee variety and show to the world you have the best! But I also wonder,is it in the brewing or the variety that makes every coffee taste excellent?di ko alam kung paano nila nagagawang masarap ang templa ng cafe sa Alfonso...sa Amadeo ba ay ibang paraan din kaya?asking lang po.
Lucentino March 15th, 2010, 09:54 AM ^Yun kape ata dyan yung galing sa poo-poo ng musang kaya masarap. :cheers1:

I'm really surprised at the number of people in SM Bacoor, even with the three additional SM Malls in Cavite, parang hindi nababawasan ang crowd. Everybody thought that when SM Dasma opened, patronage of SM Bacoor will be greatly affected, but even after two more additional malls, it seems nothing has changed palagi pa ring ang daming tao.
yeontura March 15th, 2010, 01:21 PM ^^ The reason is demographics.
hecky12 March 16th, 2010, 02:28 AM @gary...sa tingin ko wala kasing magkaparehong stores.. i mean.. like collezione c2.. meron sa dasma sa bacoor wala.. something like that.. kaya siguro marami paring tao sa bawat sm cavite mall..
habagatcentral1 March 16th, 2010, 02:37 AM ^^ Just think about this: Cavite is the most populous province in the Philippines, which is about 3 million. Majority of the residents are living in its northern and Aguinaldo Highway corridor towns, and getting from one place to another is getting difficult due to the ever-famed Cavite traffic. I also guess that SM Prime sees the growing market potential in Cavite, that is why they immediately seized the opportunity in building malls.
Which leads me to another question: What's happening with Robinsons?
nvii March 16th, 2010, 12:04 PM wow ngayon lang ulit ako nakapag-log in. :D

Ano ba ung balita about Alice Dixson?
It was a former barrio/"visita" of Recollect Hacienda de Imus and was converted into a municipality in 1867. During the American period, "Perez de Dasmariñas" once gain became part of Imus. In 1917, it regained its former recognition as a separate municipality and "Perez" was dropped from its name.
I made a website of Dasma. (yr. 2000) with long info about its history but it was lost already.

Its officially Tomas Mascardo Bridge, however people still call it as "Toll Bridge." Kaya may jeeps na "Imus Toll Bridge" na karatula. :D

Paul George Alcala March 16th, 2010, 06:13 PM Ano ba ung balita about Alice Dixson?

Hehehe
I don't know the story yet I really rarely go to Robinsons. Maybe it's not really the story about Alice Dixson.
