This new gallery is started so we can post pictures of Zimbabwe before it became independent in 1980 and was known as Rhodesia between 1961-1980, and earlier as Southern Rhodesia and the Central African Federation. This thread is to be devoted to pictures of cities and other urban centres, as well as scenic pictures of natural attractions including game parks and Victoria Falls as well as the people who lived there at this time. Please note this is not a political thread and comments about the current political and economic crisis in Zimbabwe under Robert Mugabe should be kept in the Oasis subforum.

Matthias go ahead and get the pictures as you have done well with the extensive photo galleries of Belgium Congo and Portuguese Angola. You should find alot on Rhodesia.

That may be true but it was a time in history and we do have historical threads in the other continental forums as well.
