Sorry for the delay in posting the pictures. I got to click some snaps of the Chennai airport. The new international section seems to be really nice and clean. I arrived in the night, so I could not get any good aerial pictures.

I saw the India land IT park ads all along the airport road until Kathipara junction. Is it going to be ready by November 2007 or what?

Chennai's airport looks gud...did they renovate that section recently?

If you turn on the Date/Time in your camera, we will automatically get the date and time. You dont have to type in the date everytime you upload a picture. Saves time.

I did turn on the date/time in my camera. Those information about the pictures and camera was grabbed by imageshack. Thanks for the advice thought. It would be insane to type in the date everytime :)

The problem is the date would be the 'date of hosting at imageshack' and not the date of shooting. If both happen on same date, then it would be o.k.

What I do is that while copying the image tag in reply box, I will delete the portion which gives the description of the photo, unless I am posting at the same date.

Thanks guys! I will post more pictures soon. I have enjoyed checking out all the pics on this forum and it's my turn to contribute now :) Sudheesh you are correct, imageshack does not really grab the date from the picture. I did not realize this until you mentioned it.

Excellent Pics. Arrival terminal looks pretty sleek.
btw, How many immigration counters were operational,
i heard they are going to have 20+ counters operational
at the same time. Is that true or as usual its only 4 of them
operating during the peak night time arrivals.

Finally IAAI got it. They've removed the dingy looking
yellow/black signboards to something nice.

^^ when i was there last month, there were 8 or 10 counters..

On 15th August, there were 6 counters - 3 for Indian nationals (1 of them was for disabled and diplomats), 2 for foreign nationals and one for ppl with some sorta card which I can't remember!

I don't know if they have widened the road opp. to Olympia, but it seems wider than most of the roads in Chennai! :)

I travelled on this stretch and it's a big improvement from what it used to be. I wish they made this road a 3 + 3 lane road with a futuristic view. It might be OK for today's traffic volume, but soon the traffic volume will skyrocket. Especially if the new airport comes up in Sriperumbudur. It took us more than an hour to cross Poonamallee to Koyambedu stretch at 10:30pm in the night!!!! This part is yet to be converted to 2+2 lanes. I hope they work on it soon. It's a nightmare.
