you got this from wikipedia, right ? I think it would be so nice if you take part wikipedia Viet Nam by translating English documents into Vietnamese, wikipedia Vietnam will be very useful for Vietnam as well as Vietnamese people at the present as well as in the future.

If anyone notice today's banner:

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/images/headers/19.jpg

It's Nanning, Hanoi's twin, 50 years ago, it was probably the same size as Hai Phong, now it's lookng more modern than any of Vietnam city.

Now could Hai Phong compare itself to Ningming?

To be honest, no way. Hai Phong still got a long way to go, very long way indeed.

this is what the commies do all day long, by 2010, we will be this, 2020 we should have this. I have an old article from 1995 "Thu Thiem will become a reality by 2010" now 2007 is almost over

Well, VN does not want to become developed because it will contribute to GLOBAL WARMING. Under the leadership of the CPV, VN will stay as an African country because the CPV cares so much for humanity so the CPV wants to preserve nature and the pristine environment and limit pollution! They are very altruistic!

^^

Seriously could you stop uttering sore remarks and start talking relevant things?

Btw, Ningming is a different city (not Nanning).

honestly you should give this idiot some warnings because he is really starting to annoy me with his irrelavent, and utmost ignorant comments. I've had many people PM about their discomfort with these guys turning formal post into political debate. as well as "bang bang" up there he turns everything he sees into a "commie" bashing. these idiots provok ignorance in this forum.

back to topic. Hai Phong is a nice city, but it is nothing to compare with Ha Noi or HMC - Sai Gon. The last time I've visited Hai Phong. I can see that there are many plans on the street, and these project consist of acres of construction. I am sure within 5-10 more years we will be able to see changes in Hai Phong, but first I would like to see our capital city look it's best so we can compare to others such as Soul and Tokyo, or NYC ;)

The mall in Hai Phong, TD Plaza is very nice and I like their super market Metro, and Big C way more variety than we have here in Canada. The food is very cheap too. The TD Plaza consist of a bowling arcade on 5 floor... I've never experienced that before, and the rest consist of fashion shops, and the street is full of food vender, its so nice because its always packed there.,

On my trip there I went to visit Naning with my Uncle from Mong Cai.

Man, when I saw Naning I was like

Something you would not see in Canada, even Downtown Toronto.... The city was so hightech, everything was so expensive too. We were touring in a coach bus. I would definately visit Naning again. The city is full of skyscrapers and "to be constructed" skyscraper about x20 times more than we have here in Toronto, the street glowed with neons at night. Buses are always packed wow... it's hard to explain, but i would recommend everyone to take a visit if you ever have the chance.

there.,

people from saigon don't have time to visit hanoi unless they have relatives or really love Hanoi, let alone visit haiphong, so don't say you don't have any link to haiphong.

and saigon kids growing up in canada don't call their city HCM.

if you want to put up an act, play it well

err...i don't know about those aparment buildings, though. give it a few years, and you'll begin to see paint starts to chip off and discolor, and such...i've seen too many time in Saigon (An Phu, for instance). but cheerios anyway...

+...you can really see how bad the pollution is judging from the gray haze
