Como personalmente soy muy Joven Para saber la Historia de Bella Vista les dejo una redacción muy informativa que encontre en Internet:
A muchos panameños de cierta edad les cuesta creer que lo que hoy alberga el creciente y activo centro bancario y hotelero de la ciudad fue uno de los barrios residenciales más hermosos de Latinoamérica hace sólo 40 años.
Los turistas que exploran la movida zona de restaurantes entre Calle Uruguay y Calle 50, por ejemplo, encontrarán que, justo al lado de impresionantes rascacielos, muchos de los restaurantes y boutiques que visitan son, de hecho, casas remodeladas con techos de teja roja, paredes decoradas con canto rodado y amplios ventanales en forma de arco.
Una caminata a lo largo de las calles arboladas al oeste de la Avenida Federico Boyd revelará un número mayor de estas singulares residencias, algunas de las cuales aún están habitadas, mientras que otras dan la bienvenida a clientes de abogados, médicos y contadores.
Al dar direcciones, los panameños suelen describir las casas de Bella Vista como "coloniales". Lo cierto es que lo que algunas personas describen como "arquitectura bellavistina" es en realidad, una mezcla de estilos. Su influencia más visible proviene de las antiguas "misiones" españolas de California, al igual que los sencillos estilos residenciales de la antigua Zona del Canal, y adaptaciones de la arquitectura neoclásica.
En la mente de los citadinos mayores de 50 años, Bella Vista es sinónimo de grandeza y sofisticación. Era este el barrio de las familias pudientes de la ciudad que, después de 1915, abandonaron sus antiguas mansiones coloniales en las estrechas calles de San Felipe para radicarse entre el sector de La Exposición y Playa Peña Prieta, popular balneario que ahora se encuentra debajo del asfalto de la Avenida Balboa.
El nuevo barrio tomó su nombre de la empresa constructora de propiedad estadounidense que levantó sus primeras casas sobre amplias avenidas y parques que se extendían hasta la loma de La Cresta, dominando la bahía de Panamá.

Esta vivienda ha sido demolida en el mes de febrero de 2007 para construir sobre el lote probablemente un condominio habitacional o vender el terreno. Las personas que aparecen en el balcón empezaban a trabajar en las labores de demolición.

Finalmente, viendo esta belleza pienso que esto vale mas que 1000 skylines y de edificios, por que esto nos dice lo que somos y es el simbolo de una época y de un estilo arquitectonico que quizas es único en Panamá. debemos preservarlos, por que de aquí a 20 años cuando nuestros hijos pregunten sobre el pasado, no seamos un país sin historia ni legado por que nos convertimos en una ciudad de puros edificios, espero que no tengamos que decirle que habia allí un edificio al estilo de que se construia en Panamá, pero ahora hay un edificio de 40 plantas. saludos.

Esta vivienda ha sido demolida en el mes de febrero de 2007 para construir sobre el lote probablemente un condominio habitacional o vender el terreno. Las personas que aparecen en el balcón empezaban a trabajar en las labores de demolición.

Finalmente, viendo esta belleza pienso que esto vale mas que 1000 skylines y de edificios, por que esto nos dice lo que somos y es el simbolo de una época y de un estilo arquitectonico que quizas es único en Panamá. debemos preservarlos, por que de aquí a 20 años cuando nuestros hijos pregunten sobre el pasado, no seamos un país sin historia ni legado por que nos convertimos en una ciudad de puros edificios, espero que no tengamos que decirle que habia allí un edificio al estilo de que se construia en Panamá, pero ahora hay un edificio de 40 plantas. saludos.
