I like this towers,I think the second one is going t be 300 m at least..

jeddah at current moment hasn't great skyline ,actually 3 to 5 mid rise towers can be found each one far from the others ~4km,but sooner not later jeddah city will turning to dubai's skyline.

Arabtec Saudi Arabia announced it has been awarded a US $533 million (SAR2 billion) contract to build Lamar Towers in Jeddah.

“The Lamar Towers project is an important strategic high rise luxury project on the Jeddah Sea Front Corniche,” the company said in a statement.

The joint venture between Dubai-based Arabtec Holdings; CPC Services, a member of the Saudi Binladin Group; and Prime International Group Services said it received the letter of award today.

The project consists of two towers, one 68 storeys and the other 60 storeys, and incorporates residential and commercial units as well as a shopping mall.

The main investor is Zahran Real Estate Company and the main developer is Cayan Investment & Development Company.

The project is scheduled to start immediately since the major enabling and site preparations work is already completed and the project is expected to take 36 months to complete.

Excellent design! This is exactly the kind of skyscrapers I like: sleek, modern, glassy and restrained in ornamentation. I won't name any cities or countries in the region - but a lot of very tall towers under construction are dreadfully "kitschy" and "tacky." It's nice to see a tower that is elegant. It soars!

Lamar Towers' foundations completed

JEDDAH - Arabtec Saudi Arabia & Alsaad General Contracting joint venture announced on Saturday the achievement of a major milestone with the casting of the two raft foundations for the Lamar Towers, the tallest twin towers in the Western Region, Saudi Arabia.

Lamar project, developed by Cayan International Company, worth approximately SR2 billion, is on schedule.

In parallel, foundation works are also being carried out in the adjoining Podium areas along the tower footprints that will incorporate the residential and commercial units, and a shopping mall.

"We have just poured over 11,100 cubic meters using almost 3,000 tons of steel, covering an area of approximately 4,000 sq m and approximately 3m in depth, and it was all orchestrated smoothly" said Mehriz Abdo, senior project manager for the project.

The Arabtec slip-form system for the Towers' cores is already delivered to site and is being installed.

Major plant and equipment have already been mobilized to site and are now in operation. Lamar Towers incorporates futuristic architectural designs with twin glass towers aligned in a V shape. Tower 1 has 73 floors and Tower 2 has 65 floors and helipad with two basement levels including the mezzanine levels.

The Towers incorporate residential and commercial units which will include shopping malls.

"This is indeed a great accomplishment by the team and a milestone for both Jeddah and Saudi Arabia.

Our teams are very excited about our prospects in this new market" said Riad Kamal, CEO of Arabtec Holding.

As a repeat client, Cayan is confident Arabtec -Al Saad General Contracting, JV will deliver a high-quality and satisfactory finished product on time. "Our alliance with Arabtec Saudi Arabia has created a new perspective in building construction. We are confident of the pace of the work that we have observed which highlights Arabtec's project execution and management skills. Construction work is progressing and Cayan is looking forward to seeing the rest of the project take shape," said Usama Sarraj, Cayan development manager. "Due to Arabtec's strategic project management and integrated systems, they are on schedule as noticed in five months of construction," he said.

cayan is no longer the developer and there is another company took over.
I asked them for the price of 1 bed and it is unbelivably higher (like the price before recession 2007). I doubt the project will generate funds to complete. There have been a new campaign-ads in Saudi on roads for the project.

My friend youre wrong.
Because I read in some websites that Jeddah municipality is want to build 250 skyscrapers in the south of the city through the next 5 years.

and on the corniche thery are saying that there are more than 78 towers will have been build ( at that time, and it maybe increased through the years ) but not together . at 2010 there are 12 towers will be inagurated.


and I called cayan company and they are sayed that they are retreated from the project and the Zahran company is will build it .

The project is still under construction. But the contractors are not Arabtec + Al Saad JV.
I think Al Joudah (Subsidiary of Zahran - the new owner) is the main contractor now.

But I am not able to locate any relevant news in the internet. Can anyone help me with more newslinks regarding this please?

nice spertall builing and good progress for the country.you need more progress in your infrastructures like more tallest building like dubai and good drainage system so that during times of rain no people died in the flash flood.but the rest is good.

iran is trying to expand its territory in the arabian peninsula,they are convertin sunnis into shiites,they are trying influence the palestinian govt and syria all the way to bahrain,qatar,dubai,oman,yemen all the way down to africa.if you dont deal with them its a big big problem in the future.they are incroching in your doorsteps.

clearly it's old,they're working now on the tenth floor..
the progress speed is 3 floors/month,which is good for such project ( 2 super tall towers and a 12 floors podium)

Most foreign fighters in Afghanistan come from Saudi Arabia. 100 percent of the citizens in the country belong to one single religion, yes 100%. Women can't even drive etc... The country has one of the highest military spendings on the planet and likes to invade countries with pop's of less than one million lol

because one is standing onto the entrance building and one beside. these towers are exactly the same size, one is just put onto another thing :D so its twins :P

Yes, it just doesn't appear that way. I wish they would conjoin the lobby or at least put it in the middle. The elevated tower looks thrown off to me.
