Yes generally they are not that tall because you all know Tanzania took a different path economically than Kenya. But now its different and there is construction boom.

So I am saying in Dar such buildings at that height are currently being demolised for Taller buildings.

Petition the mayor and city planner at city hall. That building is a complete waste of space. Where is the future. That building is shorter than Gill house next to it which constructed in is it 1940s or when? Nearly a century gone and this is still acceptable? Where is development in ideas and thoughts through time? The city council is a let down!

There is nothing illegal in putting up a multi-storey building for parking.Already several firms have private parkings in the CBD.The problem is actually getting land to put up one.

If there ever was a picture that captured Moi's era, thats it.

One a crazy monument to himself ?? the other a building that has caused so many people so much pain, (Getting passports, gettign visas, renewing visas and ofcourse the torture chambers).

sometimes nairobi just gives you that wow factor every now and then. we have a beautiful city we just need to clean her up neicely and keep her orderly.

^^ +1 on that.....but of course after cleaning nairobi up if it were up to me I'd pimp it out with neon LED signs everywhere....

A tower at uhuru park? its probably a street/flood light being erected, drainage/sewerage works/ a new bench etc.

I don't think it's a tower, NEMA would never allow it. Maybe just some landscape design projects.

The KCB Hq's is nowhere near Valley road for starters.
