Good comparison approach..I however think they are different..because of 2 main reasons..Lebanon has a very strong financial history and reputation..Vietnam is relatively "new". Also Vietnams toursism industry is still in the developmental stage while Lebanon is advanced.

Before the war south vietnam was richer than thailand and other countries( we would be like south-korea if south-vn won).And tourism is speeding up in vietnam growing by 18%.And experts say vietnam will be among the world's 10 most visited countries by 2017.No affence but lebanon's tourism is strongly hurt by the 2006 war.

Oh and to add something else that vietnam and Lebanon also has in common is that Lebanon is divided by religion , and also vietnam too.(North-Buddhism and South-Christianity.)

Yes I am sure you can find plenty of similarities. However keep in mind that Vietnam and Lebanon are thousands of miles apart. Also there are stark differences in culture and such. to answer your question about countries that we are similar too? that is very simple really. Our neighboring countries have the closest resemblence. countries along the mediterranean coast. Lebanon has been trading within the med basin for thousands of years. also our mountains have acted as a natural barrier that forced us to look west rather than east.
