At the centerstone of the development is Angeles Fields offering open space, water, outdoor amphitheater and outdoor vendors in a European style setting.
Located at the intersection of the 105 and 710 freeways, minutes from downtown and the LAX Airport, the development is served by both rail and bus transit.
The development has three distinct "Districts", each with their own individual design theme and mix of uses.
The Marketplace @ Angeles Fields
Big Box Power Center of 1,200,000sf combining big box retailers, grocery store and lifestyle retail with restuarants facing the Angeles Fields open space and water.
Las Ramblas Center
Integration of 1,000,000 sq ft of lifestyle retail, 3,500-seat community perfoming arts center / church, 30,000 sq ft civic / library, 1000 urban residential units including live / work townhomes and condos overlooking the open park space. Structured parking.
Sportstown
Anchored by a 70,000 seat major sports and soccer Stadium, this District integrates a 200,000 sq ft regional convention center combined with 1000 room hotel, 1,300,000 sq ft entertainment center with cinemas, clubs and eating establishments, 300 residential lofts, 1,000,000 sq ft office tower complex, large parking structure with community / youth playfields on the roof. This District is planned around the concept of transit oriented development serviced by a Green Line Transit station.
The city of Lynwood is basically halting development due to 1000 families being displaced if development were to commence... thoughts?

It certainly would be the answer to L.A.'s football stadium woes if the L.A. Coliseum doesn't get the green light for redevelopment.
Fern~Fern* August 26th, 2007, 08:33 AM ^ How's that?

When I typed that out, I immediately got bored and starting reading some of the older posts in the forum. As a result, I found this:
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=local&id=4186774
Basically the article is stating that the L.A. City Council did give the greenlight for the renovation. That article is from last year, however... I haven't heard anything about it since. What gives?
ArchiTennis August 26th, 2007, 08:32 PM WOW! this thing would be huge!! These are the renderings they have on that website:

CITYofDREAMS August 27th, 2007, 07:04 AM WOW!! this is a super mega project... It will definitely help the economy of the adjacent cities.
Fern~Fern* August 27th, 2007, 08:16 AM it will just subtract from Downtown and LA Live.
^ No it would not, different developments from different developers. Robert stop smoking what ever it is that your smoking bro!
anakinFromCoruscant August 27th, 2007, 09:43 AM I live close from the Site.. and I think it will be great.. BUT the imense Traffic Jams On 710 and 105... there bad Now but then... I mean The View Would Be phenomenal... and alot of people are protesting about it.. but the whole project is only taking about 1/4 of houses.. the rest are lots, junk yards... parking spaces. a park. etc
LA-dude August 29th, 2007, 10:33 PM The more closely I look at this project, the less inspired I am. Hopefully these people hire a professional urban design group to reconfigure this...
redspork02 August 29th, 2007, 11:11 PM Ive Seen the Univision news people protesting this...
LA-dude August 29th, 2007, 11:39 PM ^^ Of course... I could hear their chants now. "We want no future for this city!""We want no future for this city!"....but in Spanish of course.
Joey313 August 30th, 2007, 01:50 AM ^^Its not that it just looks a little cheap and needs better planning .
vahebaronian August 30th, 2007, 02:17 AM If you build it they (NFL) will come
Fern~Fern* August 30th, 2007, 03:43 AM ^^ Of course... I could hear their chants now. "We want no future for this city!""We want no future for this city!"....but in Spanish of course.
Soooooooooo can you translate?
Fern~Fern* August 30th, 2007, 03:47 AM Wait a minute why is everyone talking out of their asses about this project?
Yeah maybe it's not the best design, who cares! Lynwood needs something badly and pronto. The city needs a lot of brand new of anything.
F*** Univision and their slutty homewrecker reporters!!!!!
phattonez August 31st, 2007, 01:27 AM Isn't there a Green Line stop near this? Hey, any development that looks like that is good in my opinion. NIMBY's will be the death of this city if they don't stop.
EDIT: I guess it's not near mass transit, I hope they find some way to mitigate that.
solongfullerton August 31st, 2007, 04:17 AM There is not green line station at the 710, a new one would have to be constructed.
vahebaronian August 31st, 2007, 08:13 PM If this gets built, I guarantee there will be a Superbowl here every 5-7 yrs. Look how many times they have it in Miami, seems like they have it there every 3 years or so
CITYofDREAMS September 1st, 2007, 09:39 AM Soooooooooo can you translate?
Si se puede!!
milquetoast September 1st, 2007, 12:22 PM If this gets built, I guarantee there will be a Superbowl here every 5-7 yrs. Look how many times they have it in Miami, seems like they have it there every 3 years or so
That's the point with the NFL. They promised L. A. superbowl events until a team was in place. There hasn't been a superbowl blimp hovering around Los Angeles since 1986? Screw them! I still think they need L. A. more than we need them. There's viewership here for other games, of course, but to have games here would boost their bottom line. Not to mention the interest around the country for an L. A. team to hate. I say hold out for a reconstruction that would save the historic parastyle, create capacity for football and soccer, and be able to expand to a complete capacity holding for a future Olympics. What they did to Soldier Field, sticking a futuristic looking stadium inside the shell of the outermost wall, to me looks cheap. Please don't settle for less. You've waited long enough!
