Hanshin-Tigress September 2nd, 2007, 06:05 PM no i already told you, you dont have to read that. Are you blind? The only thing you need to see in my post is the

Hanshin-Tigress September 3rd, 2007, 05:04 AM ^^ :fiddle:
This is a website, not the end of the world. Don't cry over a sentence that has no value whatsoever.
984 feet is supertall?
I was wondering the same thing
xXFallenXx September 3rd, 2007, 05:10 AM ^^ im just playing devils advocate, but if the sentence had no value whatsoever then why post it?
Back on topic; i like the trees and gardens but the design is underwhelming.
Also, i had no idea that japan has no supertalls. i would think the biggest city in the world would have a few.
Hanshin-Tigress September 3rd, 2007, 05:14 AM My god what are you guys 12? Get over yourselves this is ridiculous. I already translated the da** sentences. All it said is 'this is cool' now can you keep crying like a baby and leave me alone? It has already been translated so drop it.
The post was basically intended to piss of tokyo forumers and only tokyo forumers because of the rivalry between osaka and tokyo. If you are not japanese then you have no clue about it and dont need to read it.
wiki September 3rd, 2007, 05:17 AM great fachade, pretty modern and the height is really good.
cyborg81 September 3rd, 2007, 05:47 AM If you are not japanese then you have no clue about it and dont need to read it.
again this is world forum, anyone can read it,so next time english please :D
great184 September 3rd, 2007, 06:01 AM 984 feet is supertall?
It would seem "supertall" in its area. supertall status should also depend in its vertical proportion to the surrounding skyline.
Hanshin-Tigress September 3rd, 2007, 06:44 AM again this is world forum, anyone can read it,so next time english please :D
if they really want to read it they can use a translator, thanks. It was intended for tokyoites and only tokyo forumers.
I put the 'important' thing in english, now quit whining and act your age.
Gaeus September 3rd, 2007, 06:45 AM My god what are you guys 12? Get over yourselves this is ridiculous. I already translated the da** sentences. All it said is 'this is cool' now can you keep crying like a baby and leave me alone? It has already been translated so drop it.

They are just trying to be immature. They are actually trying to step in to a nice "introduction" to the opposite sex. :jk:
BACK TO THE TOPIC:
Wow! Can't believe Tokyo is starting to make tall skyscrapers. They better do so or else China, Korea and Taiwan will just drown them to the bottom sea with those 400 meters+ skyscrapers.
Hanshin-Tigress September 3rd, 2007, 06:48 AM ^^ this tower is in osaka not tokyo!! Osaka=kansai region aka my region. Tokyo is 3 hours north in a bullet train. Thats the entire point of me saying "osaka #1" in japanese to anger the tokyo forumers. Tokyo people think they are the best but they arent :)
giovani kun September 3rd, 2007, 07:35 AM I don't thinck it's nice to discriminate :ohno: ..we all live on the same planet ..not some of us here and others on mars ... thanks :)

If you want everyone to read everything then please edit your signature and put it in english. Im not changing mine but you can change yours. Other wise you are being a hypocrite :ohno:
giovani kun September 3rd, 2007, 08:13 AM I'm sorry for being an hypocrite
Hanshin-Tigress September 3rd, 2007, 08:18 AM good job deleting your signature
giovani kun September 3rd, 2007, 08:33 AM ども ありがとう ございます :)
Namu September 3rd, 2007, 11:23 AM With earthquakes going off every other week building height is the least of their goals.
depressio September 3rd, 2007, 01:07 PM Someone's on the fast track for a ban.
We've all moved on . . . now please, you do the same?
I agree with the guy who said this looks very eighties. Save the gardens, this building looks straight out of one of the original Star Trek movies! Which is not necessarily a bad thing. But I know my tastes in those kind of things aren't shared universally. Heh.
I generally prefer a building that's more slender, with less dramatic cutbacks. But I suppose without experimentation we wouldn't go anywhere, now would we?
BTW the cutoff for supertall is sometimes interpreted as 300m, which is 984 feet. Basically anything the height of the Eiffel Tower is supertall.
cyborg81 September 3rd, 2007, 03:46 PM They are just trying to be immature. They are actually trying to step in to a nice "introduction" to the opposite sex. :jk:
 back to topic now.....everyone in english please! :D
Nike12 September 3rd, 2007, 06:09 PM haha some of you guys are such babies crying over 2 little comments, so sad. I think you need to go out more?
Nike12 September 3rd, 2007, 06:11 PM ども ありがとう ございます :)
I wouldnt put that if i were you or the english nazis will be on you and cry for like 2 pages. I personally dont care. I just read these threads for pictures of the construction etc.
Anyways
I always thought 1,000 feet+ was super tall? Or is it just 300 m?
ZZ-II September 3rd, 2007, 06:39 PM 300m. 1000 foot are a bit more than 300m, so 1000ft is also a supertall :)
depressio September 3rd, 2007, 09:27 PM I guess one has to decide whether to interpret the Eiffel Tower or the Chrysler Building as the first supertall.
malec September 8th, 2007, 04:23 PM Someone please provide the name of a developer, or some source which shows the project is real, otherwise I'll have to close the thread.

Momo1435 January 26th, 2008, 07:02 PM Someone please provide the name of a developer, or some source which shows the project is real, otherwise I'll have to close the thread.
Luckily you didn't close the thread already.
The name of the thread is misleading, it's the Abenobashi terminal building (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%98%BF%E9%83%A8%E9%87%8E%E6%A9%8B%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%83%9F%E3%83%8A%E3%83%AB%E3%83%93%E3%83%AB) and it's redeveloped by it's owner the Kintetsu Corporation. The building now houses the Kintetsu Department Store
here's a pdf of the original announcement from 2007/08/08 (in Japanese):
http://www.kintetsu.jp/news/files/abeno20070808.pdf
The architect is César Pelli.
And this is the design.

choyak January 26th, 2008, 08:07 PM Is this building going to have residential near the top? The floor plates on the top have lower ceiling heights, it appears like.
Momo1435 January 26th, 2008, 08:39 PM No residential, but a hotel.
It will have a department store, offices, hotel, museum and a observatory deck.

lindow June 29th, 2008, 10:48 PM 984 feet is supertall?
984 feet can be called supertall.
It is the characteristic of the Japanese building that a floor area is large.
The floor area of Mori Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center is the same. It is wider than the freedom tower. In addition, this is a compound building, and a sales floor area of the department store is 169,000 ㎡, too.
built_in_me July 28th, 2008, 04:26 AM HELLO! 59-storey building JAPAN'S TALLEST?????????????????IT MEANS JAPAN DOESN'T HAVE ANY SKYSCRAPERS??????????
:ohno:
that is so stupid of u to say that....a building's height depends on it's overall height by metres not floors.....
Harkeb July 28th, 2008, 06:43 AM dull
Jude12 July 28th, 2008, 08:35 AM 300m = SUPERTALL :ohno:
2co2co July 28th, 2008, 09:29 AM Not too tall and large floor space = more profitable
Look into the floor space of Nagoya station building, which is not even a supertall and still have much bigger floor space than Burj Dubai
skyperu34 May 21st, 2009, 06:57 PM Looks very nice, reminds me the Sears Tower with gardens on every each terrace...
S.T.Y AP May 22nd, 2009, 06:36 AM Looks very nice, reminds me the Sears Tower with gardens on every each terrace...
