신문기사로 보도된것 역시 오보(잘못된 보도-False Send)이고 언제 오픈되는지 미정이라고 합니다.
오직 VIP와 관계자들만 출입이 가능하다고 들었습니다.그리고 인천세계도시축전행사를 한해서 출입이 가능하다고 들었습니다.

Songdo is starting to exceed my expectations finally!!

Only if Seoul was planned out like Songdo it could've been
one of the most beautiful cities (although in my and many's
opinion it is beautiful how it is as well). maybe Seoul
should just add Songdo as part of Seoul Metro Area or
we'll just have to wait and see the redevelopment in
Yongsan, Jamshil and some of the Gangnam Areas :):banana:

I think that Seoul is more charming in her own way.
Maybe Seoul looks chaos and disorganized unlike Songdo or north american cities.

Actually, Seoul can't be a well-planed city unlike Songdo. Because her history exceeds 600 years old, naturally formed around palaces since the Joseon Dynasty. It's not easy to plan urbarn planning such an old city.

Anyway, Songdo look greater day by day.

Yes, almost looks like a theme park. Still U/C but it's pretty. :) (The park will soon be surrounded by dozens of +200m glass towers. It will pretty much look similar to the Central Park in NY)

They are just building this part of the city from the ground up. There is more to Incheon than this. Of course it looks boring at the moment. Check it out in a couple of years.

Korean construction zones are really really clean and ordered. Different work attitude/ethic than European or American construction.

You need to take into consideration that this is a developing city still under construction and I'm sure it'll be better and much more funner than boring American suburbia with continous strip malls and boring citylife (New York City is the only exception) and I'm sure you're from boring Midwest and know nothing about outside of the USA :nuts::lol:

I have been often critical of the skylines of Seoul and its vicinity. Nontheless, I would not use such cynical words as "ugly and boring" to describe Songdo city. I think the Songdo city project is unprecedent and exciting.

I think that most of the buildings look pretty decent. Some quite good. I especially am looking forward to the construction of the Daniel Lebiskind mall. I myself don't really have any criticisms of the place, other than I wouldn't want to live there until more of the project is complete and more people have started to move in. Probably will be a great place to live in 5 years.

by the way, you know, I found recently the fact that Kentucky blue grass started to be used at Seoul Worldcup Stadium in Sangam-dong. It's green in winter too. haha,,

You fail to realize that this city wasn't existent just a few years ago. This is a reclaimed land from the sea. The major construction had just begun and all the pics you see are just a tiny bit compared to the whole project. Hence, not many people live here and no culture within the city yet.

Just give it a few more years. In 10 years time, Incheon Songdo will develop so much that it will offer a stiff competition to the Korean capital, Seoul. Already, Incehon Songdo has attracted 9 universities (domestic & international) and several international theme parks and a dozen R&D centers from the global companies.

I always thought of Incheon as the Seoul suburb with the airport. Glad to see it has a nice skyline all its own. :)

Incheon is a major city in it's own right that joined up to Seoul as both expanded in the 'eighties. The international airport is fairly new. Seoul used to use another airport much closer to the centre of the city.

Hello everyone, I am a new user here. I view this page on daily basis to check for updates and I would like to thank all users for posting pictures of the tower.
Another reason I have signed up as a user is the growing tension and key misunderstanding among users. My intention is not to finger point but to address a point that makes sense at least from my perspective.

First of all, I am Korean, and as a child I had this belief that Korea is the center of the world. After living in Canada for more than 7 years, however, I have realized that my assumption is wrong. Within my realm of experience, vast majority of Canadians here don't know where Seoul is; and it is not surprising that a foreign user may have mistaken Songdo as Chinese city. Perhaps he/she may have written this comment to simply ridicule Korea which is indeed foolish on his/her part, but we cannot accuse others without solid evidence.

Anyway, it is not a big deal after all but I just want to make sure my point is made. Hope that make sense :)

i consider myself to be somewhat intelligent, so you'll excuse me if i didn't know where the city of songdo is. it certainly is understandable that you would be a little edgy if people are attacking others on the korea forums. that is most unfortunate but there is a difference between being outright offensive and not knowing something. please be patient with the people that don't know things....understand as well that they may be children asking you questions and not some prick stirring the pot.

The translation is bad. Are they going to just office and hotel use? Or are they still including residential? I think the tower has the look of an office building more so than residential. I hate when tall buildings have so much space the owners have to combine so many different things to fill it up. Is it a retail building, an office, a hotel, apartments, condos. Who can tell??? When a tower tries to be so many things usually one or two areas gets treated as a second thought.

From certain angles, it does indeed.

I hope there's more interesting projects planned for Incheon because this building makes the rest of the skyline look rather boring.

You do know that this whole are is just being build up from the ground in the past 5 years or so. Of course there is no density yet. Half of the area is still under construction.

But this place is such a comfortable and spacious with lots of huge green parks and lake.
Do you know that this city is designed and carefully planned to build broad space for human unlike suffocacting and densely packed city.

The city which is no density is the concept of future city,
not like packed like sardines.
Maybe you never learn, judging from what you've said ingnorantly.
