Kuwait unveils digital cinema
Kuwait’s largest cinema chain, Kuwait National Cinema Co (KNCC) has invested in the region’s first digital cinema.
Described as a pilot project, the installation was undertaken by Real IUmage Media Technology, an Indian company, included the supply of a Qube HD XP-D DCI compliant digital cinema server, along with a Cinemeccanica 2K projector. The new kit is being showcased at the Shaab cinema in Kuwait.
KNCC trades in Kuwait under the Cinescape brand, and says the project has cost some $150,000, attributing the higher-than-normal price to having started from scratch. - (c) Rapid TV News 2007
