would that realy reflect the location as just being a bridge to peanarth from Cardiff and not the other way around?

Actually I think the 'Just Penarth Bridge' has a nice ring to it.

"What's at the other end of that bridge, then?"
"Oh, it's just Penarth"

This weeks Penarth Times has an article on the bridge including an 'artists impression' of it. The Article is http://www.penarthtimes.co.uk/display.var.1668410.0.city_link_on_horizon.php
Unfortunatly the online version does not seem to include the picture, and a brief search online didn't yeild one either.

I have to say, I think the Vale council are really dragging their collective feet with this. The benefits for Penarth are just as great, if not greater than the benefits this scheme will bring for Cardiff. Yet it only seems to be Cardiff council who are doing anything at all about it. The Vale just moan that they might have to spend some money on it. And I'm sure now the design is released they'll moan about that aswell. It looks like it was designed after 1920, so no doubt the people of Penarth will moan aswell. :bash:

What is it with the Vale Council, they seem to forget how dependent on Cardiff the place is.

Maybe Cardiff Council should have emergency roadworks on all of the access roads from the Vale, see just how much disruption that causes ;)

Sustrans have got the lottery money for their cycle network projects so it looks like the Ely Bridge will be built.

shame it wont be that nice! I hope they redesign it. Even a plain footbridge would be better, or maybe we can get calatrava involved and create a tourist destination next to the sports village.
