Kind of nice around here. Went to Watts and it was more steamy but I think it's cause all the concrete too.

Yeah, it was 112 here in temecula. The humidity had to be at about 400% too.

Drove thru Whittier and was 99 degrees.

Also went to Van Nuys, and literally beads of sweat were racing off of my face! :no:

Last Thursday and Tuesday, I had to walk one mile from where I parked to class. I got to CSUN btw. Damn freshmen taking all the parking spots seniors like me deserve more than they do. haha. When i finally got to class, sweat was dripping down on my notes. That was really ugly.

The top three worst cities that I've been to when it comes to heat

1) Houston.
2) Phoenix
3) St Louis.

You really should try Vegas this time of year. It's much like Phoenix. I used to go there every summer when it was around 110-115 degrees every day. It was horrible.

Yeah it has, unlike the first 2-3 weeks of August which resembled Houston, with high heat and humidity. :nuts: Luckily I was in L.A for part of that time :cheers: The only problem now is the damn mosquitoes. :bash: But I guess that goes with the territory. Some of the most pleasant months are late May, early June, and September.

Yes absolutely, I actually just came back from a neighborhood beach about an hour ago. Water is a bit colder now, I think shoreline temps are 75F, but it was over 80F in August.:)

Awesome. Even though I'm from SoCal, it seems as if you're more of a beach person than I am. Truth is, whenever I make my way to the beach (which isn't too often), I just walk around and wiggle my toes in the sand. I don't go into the water. LOL.

I love the water. When we vacation, we almost always go someplace where there's a beach. I've been to L.A. before, but this summer, I realized just how beautiful the place really is (not just the beaches).

I am a swimmer, but I don't take a boat out into the middle of the lake and jump in. Believe it or not it's 930 feet deep! I need to see land not far from where I'm swimming. When I was 19, a bunch of us went out fishing and drinking on the lake, we ended up some 10-15 miles out, and a freaking storm came through. Out 36footer was being tossed around like it was nothing. Scarred the shite out of me!

I went to a party in Beverly Hills Canyon, I slipped out of my car (after not touching any outside air since I left my ACed apartment) and nearly fainted. It was about 110 up there. Very nice views though.

I like the summertime. It's my 2nd favorite season. But unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. It may be warm now, but before you know it, it's winter again and wer'e all breaking out the overcoats, gloves and ski caps. Not to mention the thermal underwear and snow boots.

Some crazy ass weather in SoCal lately. Fires, rain, and extreme heat all at the same time.

I went to Burbank today and it felt like the air was coming out of an old big furnace... sizzling hot to say the least.

When do the locusts arrive? It's not unusual for me to go on a late night walk at 1 in the morning and have it be 95 degrees, but I live in the high desert. Our a/c unit won't stop until.... mid November? Hey, City. You guys don't know how lucky you are. :)

Is there any plan for the US to switch to the metric system? I find it hard to work out what your temparature equates to. I know in our Summer (Adelaide, Australia) the average daily temparature is 32 degrees while we average about 10 days a month over 40. The highest recorded temperature is 47.8. I think 100 of your degrees is equal to 37 of ours?

^^Haha, Metric is supposedly the official US system, but we don't use it. It was abandoned a while ago when people resist. You gotta love the stubbornness.

I stayed in Evanston and drove down to Downtown and saw several beaches along the way. Since then, I've always wanted to try out a Chicago beach. :yes:

North Ave Beach is just south of Lincoln Park. Actually east of Mid North, and about 6 miles north of the Loop. Yeah, this beach along with Oak St are the most popular beaches in Chi. None of the beaches in Chicago come close to Orange County however:nono: On the other side of Lake Michigan you would be absolutely surprised:yes:

I turned off my AC yesterday for the first time since this wave eat started.

It's not that hot anymore. We're going to be in the low 80's today (mid-high 80's in DT and the valleys.) :)

yeah it was/is really nice today. its about damn time.

We are still hot today. About 91F in Chicago at 4PM but luckily our humidity is low...only 45%. Tomorrow will be a bit cooler, low to mid 80's, but MUCH more humid. Next week low 70's :) Autumn is around the corner for us.
