Has anyone actually seen that sign upon arrival at LAX? If so, what terminal(s) is it at?

I saw that the first time I came to LA, but it was Tom Bradley's face that greeted me. I felt special, like Mayor Bradley was welcoming just me alone.

"Where the world comes together" ...is this the official motto for L.A.? I think there's more to it, but correct me if I'm wrong...

My sister was talking about an Antonio greeting sign when she arrived from PDX

No. It's just how the Mayor likes to tout Los Angeles and is something he has been using a lot lately to describe our wonderful city. I agree wholeheartedly. Los Angeles is literally where Asia, Latin America, and the United States meet.

Gotcha.

Now that I think about it, let's not forget about Oceania... we do have the highest percentage of Samoans and Filipinos in the entire country within our city limits and metro area... I've even come across a few Australian transplants too.

As far as Polynesians,
LA probably has the most Samoans in sheer number, but other islander groups are more highly concentrated elsewhere.

LA has the most filipinos, not the most per capita.

I remember that sign being unpainted though. When did they paint it black I wonder?

Both L.A. and San Francisco Bay Area have the largest asian population, not just L.A.

Well, someone has to have the larger of the two! It's science.

Not neccessarily. They could have the same equal exact amount. It's highly unlikely, but not impossible, am I correct?

% wise or in numbers?

Los Angeles has the largest Asian-American population of any US city number-wise.

The Frisco Bay Area has a large Asian population but I also have met many transplants from the midWest and Northeast and believe it or not there are many transplants here from Los Angeles and Southern California as well, me included.
