View Full Version : Design Your Own Liverpool Skyline
Chris B September 4th, 2007, 01:19 PM Apologies if this has already been posted, I did look around, but didn't see anything.
This site - CLICKY (http://www.myliverpoolskyline.com) - allows you to add a number of different skyscrapers from around the world to Liverpool's skyline, and remove some of our existing buildings. It's only a bit of fun, but it kept me amused for bit.

I've just made Liverpool the greatest city on earth.
But we know that anyway, don't we? :)

I didn't realise the Swiss Re Tower was so tall. That would have looked stunning on Mann Island. But our council does not seem to allow iconic buildings like that.

You saying the Halifax building on The Strand ain't iconic?
What I thought was quite weird was putting in the CN tower from Toronto. It's broadly similar to the Radio City Tower, but it completely dwarves the Radio City Tower. What I wouldn't give to have something like that here.
Gareth September 4th, 2007, 07:54 PM Haha, that's quite fun. The good thing is, someone somewhere is using their imagination and considering Liverpool's potential and what could be. Let's just hope Wayne (and Garth?) don't see it.
New_To _This_City September 4th, 2007, 08:05 PM That was fun, all be it for about 30 seconds! The Gherkin looked good on the skyline, but it would look good anywhere, i love it!!! The other buildings generally looked out of place I think!!

Gareth September 4th, 2007, 08:12 PM Now now, Kurt. The Cloud has been scrapped and isn't coming back.

Been up the CN Tower and largely unimpressed to be honest. Soulless, tatty concrete, and if it was in Liverpool there would be complaints about the scruffy interior and litter outside.
kung_fuzi September 5th, 2007, 02:27 PM The only thing wrong with this is that you can't position the new buildings where you want them.

I was thinking that also, as some of the taller stuff would suit being north of the Pier Head, or to put say the CN tower in place of St Johns beacon.
