New Jack City July 27th, 2003, 12:50 AM 8/10...Looks good, another great art deco skyscraper from the '30s. Nice details and top, the only part I don't like is the side view in the last picture. I love the lighting at night too!

Impressive massing. The top looks a bit unfinished though.

One of the best skyscrapers in the world
Cincinnati is lucky to have this monstrous masterwork
Is it any wonder the city has chosen to leave this as it's tallest building since the 1930's!?!?!?!?

Fine by me. Queen City Square will ruin the skyline! :bleep:

wh92stang July 22nd, 2005, 04:07 PM Very nice and classic building. If you're ever in Cincy, it has a very nice open-air viewing area around the top on the 49th floor and you can see all the rest of downtown.
I'm glad they're building Queen City Square. I think it will compliment the skyline rather than ruin it. It's about time for a new tallest building.

A beautiful half size take on the Empire State Building! Too bad the Great Depression forced the builders to scale back the Art Deco ornament that was planned for this structure. Any city would be proud to have this tower in its skyline.

A beautiful half size take on the Empire State Building!
Correction: The Empire State Building is a beautiful double-size take on Carew Tower. Carew came first. ;)
It's also considered an early prototype for the City within a City concept which Rockefellar Plaza became known for a decade after Carew.
And you know what? The Roebling Bridge was a prototype for the Brooklyn Bridge too. When I think about it...New York City's really not that original...they're just really good at stealing ideas and doubling the size.
Geocarlos October 20th, 2011, 01:14 AM Great art deco classic. Really impressive. 9/10
