This lot is bounded by Mother Seton Hospital, GMA 7 and Naga Hope Christian School.
In the picture is the grand stand of Naga Hope... it has a mini rubberized track and field oval... the only school with one I think in Cam Sur at least... I don't know in Bicol...

This lot is owned by Central Bank.
They are suppose to start the construction together with the CB- Legazpi but the plan was apparently revised as it would include a convention center, similar to that of Davao.

Jodan's Air is a distrubutor for industrial cooling equipment including Carrier. It it where we purchased our Carrier Chilled Water Filled unit at Endolab SM City- as specified by the SM Mall Managment.
The Carrier Philippines has a Regional Office and Showroom in Naga where you can purchase original parts and get recommendation for their official service centers. They do not sell aircon units- just parts.
It is also where the local ditributors order their aircon units to ge sold in the region.
It is located at Panganiban Drive beside ABS-CBN and at the ground floor of NSO Naga Building.
Panasonic and La Germania Regional Office and service centers are also located in Naga (Concepcion Grande).

randism March 12th, 2010, 05:02 AM Naga, energy group okay landfill project
(http://www.bicolmail.com/issue/2010/mar11/xgroup.html)
By Alec Francis A. Santos
NAGA CITY --- If the City Government of Naga were to be asked, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure indeed.
The local government recently signed a joint venture agreement with an energy group for the construction of a power facility using trash from the city’s landfill in Brgy. Balatas.
According to Oscar Orozco, head of Naga’s Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO), the newly signed agreement would facilitate the establishment of a gasification facility in the city landfill that could generate energy to augment the needs of local electric cooperatives.
Thomas Hess of the True Green Energy Group (TGEG) said that Naga was chosen after intensive research because of the city government’s track record in managing and sustaining projects. Hess, who heads the finance team of the TGEG, also added that investors from the U.S. have expressed enthusiasm in the proposed project, citing the existence of two similar facilities in San Fernando, Pampanga and Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Once completed, the facility can generate up to 8 megawatt-hours, half the 16 megawatt-hours needed by the Camarines Sur Electric Cooperative II (CASURECO II).
Orozco also explained that because the facility will make use of the latest trash-disposal technology, there will be minimal residue. In fact, the ENRO head said that at most, there will only be a 3 percent residue from the incineration of garbage and its conversion to energy.
Hess further added that investing in renewable energy is not only profitable but also environmentally-sound. Sanitary landfills, he explains, are not that safe and can eventually leak over time. The TGEG official also emphasized that because investors are willing to infuse millions into the project, they had to make sure that their local counterparts would not pocket the money, hence their choice of Naga.
Mayor Jesse M. Robredo, on the other hand, expressed support for the proposed facility, adding that if fully implemented, the project can address the failures of the Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
The agreement is scheduled to be submitted to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for review and ratification next week. If approved, the city can benefit from the facility in as early as 12 months, according to Orozco.

Thomas Hess of the True Green Energy Group (TGEG) said that Naga was chosen after intensive research because of the city government’s track record in managing and sustaining projects. randism March 12th, 2010, 05:09 AM Sports galore major features of Kaogma festival
(http://www.bicolmail.com/issue/2010/mar11/xgalore.html)
PILI, Camarines Sur --- Spectacular sports galore will once again be a major accent of this year’s KAOGMA FESTIVAL to mark the 431st Foundation anniversary of the province of Camarines Sur this coming May 2010.
In keeping with the vision of Governor LRay Villafuerte to transform Camarines Sur not only into a model of local governance, an information technology and an investment hub and world-class tourism destination as well as an international center for sports, an array of various competitions are lined-up for the entire nine-day celebrations of the KAOGMA week come May 22 to May 30.
Heading the list is the Tour of Camarines Sur, to be held this year for the 13th successive year and again expected to be participated in by the top mountain bike racers of the country.
Accredited and supervised by the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines (Philcycling) the race has evolved into a national sports event and for the first time being proposed to be routed from outside the province with at least six grueling laps.
The Motocross Challenge, another event that has consistently drawn participants from outside the province is projected to be an exciting two-day confrontation of expert bikers to be staged at a special course to be constructed near the Lago de Ray.
Another thriller, the 4th Philippine Cable Wake Nationals held at the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex every year since its inception and drawing the attendance of elite riders of the country and from many other countries of the world, will take center stage of the KAOGMA for two-days.
Hundreds of national and international sports personalities are likewise expected to flock to the province for the day-long CamSur Triathlon, now on its second year after the maiden race was staged here last year as a prelude to the Triathlon 70.3 Philippines.
Off-road drivers will also have a chance to test their skills behind the wheel for two-whole days of muddy and slippery driving during the 4 x 4 Isarog Challenge also to be staged at a special course near the boatlake.
A burgeoning extreme sports gaining popularity in other places will also be held for the first time this year – Downhill Bike Competition – at a bike trail to be prepared on the shoulder of majestic Mt. Isarog.
Amateur pugilists will also have two evenings to show off their talents during the Burontolan in a ring right in front of the Kaogma stage.
The array of extreme sports which will carry handsome prizes and will be free for all to witness, will be aside from other cultural-based competitions like the Dalan sa Kalangitan, Hot Kids and the Search for Ms. Kaogma Pageant. GBClaveria

It's also in Concepcion Pequena after the coke plant also on the left side if you are coming from Naga. An itsura niya parang quonset bldg. Not unless it has been renovated by San Miguel. Pepsi had its own plant and that is the one on the right side coming from Naga. 7-up had its own plant in Naga before the product was purchased by Pepsi.
7-Up even came up in Bicol with such drinks as Apple Sidra and Cliquot Club. :)

Coca-Cola came to Bicol first in 1951, then followed by 7-Up in that quonset hut, then Pepsi came in the late fifties with the plant you are seeing now. They operated all at the same time. 7-Up was bought by Pepsico in the US only in the eighties. The 7-Up plant in Naga ceased operations in the seventies.

The local government recently signed a joint venture agreement with an energy group for the construction of a power facility using trash from the city’s landfill in Brgy. Balatas.

jardet March 12th, 2010, 05:56 PM I really do not like what I see at the roadside- so third world.
I wish the PI government would have a budget for roadside landscaping and maintenance.
Or the Filipinos not matter how poor would be responsible enough to clean and beautify their own backyard.
The shrubbery / flowers below are beautiful but still need trimming.
The roadside is garbage free but needs sweeping.
The trees were mutilated and the culprit should be jailed!!!!
http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/9323/1002440v.jpg
Wish ko din lang. But that is still too far from being a reality. That means relocating families or demolishing structures along roadsides from Batanes to Sulu. That is another manifestation of government incompetence to enforce the law which provides for specific road property lines which are more often violated than observed in all places in the country. :ohno:
That's the problem when trees are planted directly under power lines. Most of these trees along road sides were products of tree planting activities which did not consider hazards later on when the trees reach heights and size.

It's haphazard planning Jardet.
But come to think of it- why not relocate of remove the powerlines- not the trees?

Again, that means money which unfortunately our government is perennially short of. It's much cheaper to cut trees than relocate the lines. The prime consideration on the plan where to run power lines were basically on service delivery which is the government mandatge and budget economy which is what the government can afford. Sadly not much on public safety and general aesthetics. Look at those spaghetti thing and the height of power lines crisscrossing over roads and even over houses.:ohno:

Notice the pink and white blossoms.
Incidentally, The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. is scheduled March 27 - April 11, 2010.
The blooming of the cherry trees around the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. has come to symbolize the natural beauty of the capital city of USA. The famous trees, a gift from Japan in 1912, signal Washington’s rite of spring with an explosion of life and color that surrounds the Tidal Basin in a sea of pale pink and white blossoms. Thousands of city residents and visitors from across the nation and around the world come here to witness the spectacle, hoping that the trees will be at the peak of bloom for the Cherry Blossom Festival.
The average peak bloom this year is expected on April 4, 2010. The 2010 Peak Bloom is forecasted to be from April 3 through April 8 with the entire blooming Period of March 31 through April 1.
I normally try to shy away from the Tidal basin area at this time of the year but maybe this time I will take some pics for the forum.

I have never seen roadside trees so mangled.:bash:
really sad nga... even in the Ziga Road (San Felipe - Panicuason), trees are planted too close to the road, when road expansion comes, what's going to happen to those trees... no planning talaga sir...

As i know even today, that they will put up a new building this year. But what i heard, it's for LEASING purpose, and not really for Graceland/Geewan/Baker's plaza since they already had, just a few yards away. About the ElectroMart building, the owner son has a plan to set up a new business, but no information about it
I agree they are silent about this, It is a business culture here in our city , that they don't like to talk about theirs plans either they open or close it. Secrecy is a common code to most business group in Naga.
Nagaboy is right...We should a set a STANDARD not to use owners name in addressing an establishment, as a respect, as well as protecting them unless they agree too.

i think it was sir bob who mentioned that the Dy's who owns Graceland is planning to put up another commercial building. During the 80's Graceland was so popular for birthday parties and other small occasions. Their mascot "Gweeny" would gleefully stroll up and down the restaurant premise to greet each customers.
Aidz
yes! but the Dy's are really silent about it... I've attended several parties in Graceland... :)
I see.. Aidz you attend parties in Graceland .
Good morning everybody

That was the golden days of Graceland and Biggs before the onslaught of the giant bee and the great m. Remember, Graceland grew to 3 stores that time. I am glad both Graceland and Biggs are still doing very well until this time.

Graceland ang BIgg's evolved because of this... There's Geewan, Bakers Plaza, Red Platter... Benjo's didn't seem to pick up with the market though... as for Bigg's, they are doing great as well!

yup. Reminds me when Mcdonalds opened its 1st branch here in Naga, they had a grand parade along downtown city. Not to be outdone, Jollibee and Graceland even come up with their own scheme, they set up sound systems infront of their stores and let their mascots run across the streets inviting potential customers to dine in their stores. When Ronald Mcdonald (the mascot of Mcdo) pass by infront of Plaza Quezon, Gweeny (mascot of Graceland) and Jolly (mascot of Jollibee) left their respective assignments and engaged in a battle of dancing skills and humorous antics much to the delight of the pleasing crowd. :)
