isnt the whole concept of these survivor reality shows is to see who can survive in undeveloped areas of this planet for 30+ days? if caramoan gets developed into a resort like area, would they stop filming? :dunno:
caramoan is such a beautiful place to turn into a resort destination tho :D

I think that's the reason why the governor wants to limit any large commercial development for Caramoan. He does not want Caramoan to suffer the same fate as Boracay. Even if some area becomes developed, I think it'll be concencrated enough in some area only and have the majority of it intact.

^^^^right. i'm wondering if Caramoan's LGU/DOT could also implement a 'homestay program' (if it's not yet in place) just like what they have in Pagudpud. Tourists have the option to rent a home owned by a resident in the area. not only will it be directly beneficial to the locals but it'll also be a good way of promoting Bicolano hospitality to the tourists (both foreign and local tourists). it'll also be another way of adding up 'hotel rooms' without actually building one (thus limiting the chances of overdevelopment in the area)....thoughts on this guys? :)

As to the continuity of CWC after Gov LRay's term, I think I discussed this in my previous postings here in this thread. This is actually a real risk for government initiated projects. When the original proponent is replaced, the new one would immediately dissipate the projects of the former so he can put up his own. Because the existing, no matter how successful, can never be attributed to the new official so the tendency is to stop it. Sabihin lang niya, kapritso lang yan ni LRay kasi hilig niya, at ginamit pa government money. Tapos na si LRay. Assuming he will continue such project, most likely in the succeeding election the old official will run again and face the new official. See the connection? So in the next election after LRay, make sure you will vote for somebody who is as brilliant as LRay and as sportsminded as he is so CWC will be managed very well. If Pilapil is elected, say goodbye to CWC. :ohno:

I think the biggest problem for some politician is when they think government is by one person only. They'd like to think GOVERNMENT is spelled with an "I" just as the word TEAM is spelled with an "I" - the concept that "I" am the Governor and therefore "I" am the government." It has become not so much about continuing excellent programs that were started, successful, and became beneficial to the population, but rather is about defacing the previous administration and pushing forward their own selfish agenda.

When election comes and if LRay decides to run for re-election, I think it'll be an easier decision for the voters. If he decides not to, I hope it is an easy decision of whom not to vote for...hint hint he'll turn CWC in to a fish pond hahaha:lol::lol::lol::lol:

joking aside, it's scary to think about:ohno:

That is a great idea. I once watched a travel documentary about how in certain place in Italy tourist were invited to participate in cooking in their private kitchens and have the tourist eat with the host family.

I also heard that in Naga, a few houses are being rented out to tourist for temporary accomodation. I believe the houses are owned by residents who are currently overseas.

pero haloy pa yan.. sabi mo ngani my last term pa si gov.db..:)

kong kay mayor man.. mas maray gayod mag congressman nalang sya..

..:ohno:

Yes, na daog si L-Ray against Cho Roco, but now Politically alliance changes, we have to accept that. not like before alliance of Father ( Congressman)/ Son ( L-Ray) and alliance of Robredo/ Cho Roco.
At present, you can see the Father and Son no longer in good terms. And I don't think Cho Roco will be endorse by Jess Robredo. Maybe that's the Politics

Well , you have to consider that Naga are mostly intelligent voters, they always look for Person with capacity and experience like Robredo and L-ray. I don't think L-ray needs any endorsement, We can see his achievements

I believe 200% that Mayor Robredo will never fight or compete with the old Villafuerte in his life.

Yes, i think if he would run for a senator. He really needs to work hard and money is essential

I agree. Right now Gov. LRay and Jessie Robredo are the big difference for Naga and CamSur. They are the big reasons for the unprecendented growth of both LGUs. They will be hard to replace. Unfortunately, however, I do not think they can swap positions because Naga is an independent component city. Naguenos do not vote for the governor of CamSur, right? Not unless Jessie Robredo establishes residence outside of Naga at least 6 months (or is it 1 year) before elections. If Gov Lray's present residence is in Naga, maybe he can ran as Mayor, I'm not sure.

Yes, Technically it should be that way. But I'm asking myself why Congressman Datu Arroyo became a Congress of the 1st District, when in-fact he is a resident of Naga ( was a former student of Ateneo De Naga Univ.).

I think Kevin had answer our question. HELLO KEVIN:)

When L-Ray cannot run for governorship anymore, he must rest or run for another post. He can come back to being Cam Sur's governor, and he'll surely win given his feats, just so he could continue his vision for the province.

Anyway, as regards the road to Caramoan, the last time I went to this town, in December 2008, the coastal road is being constructed. The terrain is rough so it could take time before it's done unless the government prioritizes it more than anything else.

Oh, I forgot to say my kind words to the newbies--Caffeinhaler (such an interesting name you have) and ronskie--whose sensibility speaks of their class and discipline. Hi to you both!

Hello gurugeri, thanks for the kind words. Yes, interestingly enough the name signifies my love for coffee, and when I saw the picture that's on my avatar it just had to be CAFFEINHALER...hahahaha:lol::lol:

I love reading books most specifically travel books. During free time I always go to the local book store to browse and read. I quoted the following from a travel book called Lonely Planet. It usually is available in major chain of bookstores here in the US.

Introducing Naga

Naga, in Camarines Sur, is one of Luzon's hipper commercial centres. Its wide streets meander instead of sticking to a conventional grid pattern, while the use of podyak - push tricycles - reigns in the tricycle madness just a little. University students abound, and many of them have sports like mountain biking and rock climbing on their résumés. An abundance of Western-style coffee shops and snazzy, upmarket eateries only enhance the cosmopolitan feel.

In September, thousands of devotees make a pilgrimage to Naga for the Peñafrancia Festival, in celebration of the Virgin of Peñafrancia, Bicol's patron saint. The town's population swells at this time and you need to book accommodation at least two months in advance.

Mt. Isarog National Park

Info:

Mt. Isarog is a stratovolcano located in the province of Camarines Sur, Southeastern Luzon. Bordering the park at the North are the municipality of Tinambac and San Miguel Bay; at the South by the municipalities of Pili and Ocampo; the municipality of Goa at the East, and the floodplain of Camarines Sur in the West.

Mt. Isarog is located 300 kilometers southeast of Manila near Naga City in the Camarines Sur province. Rising 1,966 meters above the Lagonoy Gulf Mt. Isarog is a second highest mountain in the Bicol Region. Isarog National Park encompasses 10,100 hectares covered with green luscious forests. It has a number of trails but the most famous of which is the trail via Panicuason in Naga.

The view from the summit is spectacular. From the western side, you can see Pili and Naga Camarines Sur with the green fields and the other Bicol Mountains as its backdrop, including the majestic Mt. Mayon. The Rangas River on the other hand can be seen from the eastern side of the mountain. Mt. Isarog is an in-active volcano. Its last recorded eruption was on 1641.

It has one of the area's largest concentrations of virgin rainforest with a wide variety of plants and animals. Like Mt. Banahaw, the mountain is also called "Vulcan de Agua" or more precisely, the water mountain" since it has numerous springs and streams flowing from its slopes. Mt.Isarog is also known as "Hundred Waterfalls Mountain".

Flora and Fauna

Mt. Isarog is rich in biodiversity resources. Expeditions since 1961 recorded three rodents and a specie of blind snake that are found only in the park. In addition, the smallest falconet, the world's smallest raptor is endemic to Mt. Isarog.

Mt. Isarog's flora is recorded close to 1,300 species in 1991 in a Botanical Survey conducted by Haribon Foundation - Mount Isarog National Park Conservation Project. Although much are still being determined for their endemicity, Mt. Isarog abounds of dipterocarps in the secondary lowland forests and pitcher plants, arborescent palms, oaks, mosses, liverworts, orchids, and ferns in the higher elevations.

An Island called Rose
Published: January 30, 2008 | Author: Ronald James Panis

CAMARINES SUR —There is a gem of an island within Presentacion, a town at the western end of this Bicol province. Aguirangan Island, internationally known as Rose Islet, is blessed with pristine-white sands that blanket its shores. A kilometer stretch of beautiful coral formations surround the islet, which is perfect for snorkeling and underwater photography.

Because Aguirangan is just a speck of a landmass over the northeastern side of Lagonoy Gulf, there are no hotels, restaurants or even a sari-sari store in it. This virgin island’s only occupants, aside from the hermit crabs and various other amphibious creatures popping from time to time, are its small amount of greenery and some bamboo benches, which provide temporary shade from the raging afternoon sun or sudden downpours. But it is exactly these conditions that reel in tourists and locals alike to venture out to this far-flung, natural treasure of Bicol. Bolstered by the lush, mountainous nearby lands that surround one part of the islet, and the vastness of the Gulf in the other, its serene and secluded setting are surely worth the trek.

Aguirangan is situated right before the shorelines of one of Presentacion’s barangays, Maangas. In fact, it is just a stone’s throw away from the shoreline. Well, a very strong stone throw, that is. The part of the Gulf enfolding it yields cool and calm waters, as well as an unfettered view of sunrises and blue afternoon skies. On a clear day, one can even see a small part of the Mayon Volcano in the horizon.

The islet almost seems untouched by any civilization – a notion one will entertain up until he or she whips up his/her phone and discovers they can place a cellular call from here. Still, it is all these natural elements that make Aguirangan a place worth seeking, Bobby Torres, general manager of the Aguirangan View Hotel which is erected at the shoreline right in front the island (1.5 kilometers away or 18 minutes away by banca), told Philippine News. Aside from offering experiences that can refresh and inspire visitors, Aguirangan is also a take-off point for many adventures. From a venue for scuba diving or fishing, it’s also a good overnight place where some visitors – backpackers mostly – would spend a clear night and even a few days in the island (cooking is allowed in there). They can easily resupply or rest in the hotel, Torres added.

Torres also noted that there are the Adiangao Cave in Maangas and the numerous waterfalls and rivers tourists can visit – all a few minutes away from the hotel or the island. Visitors can also go island-hopping or try various water sports the hotel has to offer, like jet skiing. The nearby mountains are good for trekking as well, with Maangas residents as tour guides.

“Aguirangan is one of the identified tourist attractions of the Camarines Sur local government,” Torres said. In fact, former Camarines Sur Governor Luis R. Villafuerte had celebrated one of his birthdays here. He invited 1,500 people which was the largest record of visitors the hotel has had so far, said Torres.
Visitors wanting to soak up the relaxing aura of Aguirangan and Maangas can also do so right in the hotel vicinity. Equipped with facilities like a swimming pool and tennis as well as basketball courts, the hotel easily transforms into the getaway place Torres have envisioned is as.

No wonder this 30-room establishment (plus six cottages) has attracted not only backpackers, but also a wide variety that range from companies in their regular out-of-town seminars to families from Manila or Naga out for vacation. And the best thing is: accommodations are affordable.
Aguirangan View has also its fair share of foreign visitors who have more than come to see the island – for one, a couple got married here. Torres expressed his surprise when Londoners or Australians suddenly booked in their hotel after finding about the island online – via the Bicol’s tourism site though since they haven’t set up their own web page yet.

Nevertheless, Torres said they intend to tap the retirees as regular clients.Albeit remote, Aguirangan is not inaccessible. Torres, whose parents are Maangas natives and own the hotel, pointed out that there are many ways to reach the islet. Primarily, there is the sea route using locally-made motorboats or ‘bancas’. Visitors, Torres informed PN, can avail themselves of this 30-minute ride from the Barangay Sabang port in the town of San Jose, Camarines Sur. This town, famous for its Malasugi (swordfish) Festival, is about 60 kilometers away from Naga City, where aircon-vans or jeepneys are for hire. Presentacion, despite its distance, is also linked to the national road passing through Naga City and neighboring towns. Though it’s a few hours drive, the trip isn’t a drag at all.

Torres assured there are lots of scenic spots to occupy the wandering eyes – and cameras – of tourists. The long farm lands as well as the nearby hills and mountains throughout the trip are certain to engage them during the whole ride. Too bad if you’re the designated driver.

oo nga.. You have two options on how to get there in Siruma. You can go there by water via Tinambac port, you take a sibid-sibid or lantsa or you go there by land via tinambac road.
Suggestion, mas maganda pumunta dun sakay ng sibid-sibid or lantsa kasi mas madami makikita pero almost 3 hours nga lang ung byahe at ung alon malaki talaga. Pag jeep naman, maalikabok tapos rough road pa and alost 3 hours din ung byahe. Tapos ung pamasahe nya 120/head one way palang. Tapos may hold-up and NPA issue pa pag by land ang byahe mo. Sabi mi kadto pagduman mi sa Siruma, magbyahe ka sa dagat o sa tinampo parehong matipsik saka maalon. Pag sa daat literal na matipsik saka maalon pero pag by land matipsik nin alpog saka maalon ta rough road.

Siruma is part of 3rd district. It has a beautiful place and beautiful people. Roads are being done when election is coming. And when election ends that's also the end of road construction. The government should prioritize the construction of these roads going to Tinambac and Siruma (may election man o mayo). It will be a benefit for all.

randism, nice picture of Gota Beach.

akosijamir, pano tabi makaduman sa Siruma beach?

pwede kang magsakay sa lantsa or jeep.

By water: tinamabac port, almost 3 hours ang byahe pero basog an mata ta kadakol kang mahihiling. May mga flying fish, rock formation, wave formation-lol (may part na halankaw ang alon).

By land: north bound jeep terminal (queborac, naga city), almost 3 hours man ang byahe, 100+/head an pamasahe. medyo boring tapos makulog sa lobot ta rough road.

You are absolutely right. CWC is a very temporary thing because everything there is artificial. But since it is there take advantage of it. In fairness, CWC has placed CamSur in the tourism map. But I would suggest that its further development should now be done more cautiously. There might be over development. Instead, Gov LRay should now focus CamSur's development to the more permanent tourism areas in the eastern portion of the province, i.e. - Caramoan, Siruma, etc. That white beach in Siruma will definitely rival what they have in Boracay. But there is a need to build first class roads and utilities. If these infrastructures are there, investors will start to notice and come in. Enough of CWC already because it caters to a very small market. If you go there once, you will only come back if you are a wakeboarder addict. I will certainly not bring my family there because we don't wakeboard. But I will definitely bring them to Caramoan now if I can get a reservation at Gota beach. And there are a lot of families in the country just like mine who goes on a summer outing yearly. Just maintain whatever is there in CWC now. If If Gov LRay will be able to market Caramoan the way he did CWC, the present number of tourists that goes to Camsur should just be peanuts.

This effort should not be limited to CamSur since there are a number of tourism potential within the Bicol Region. Albay has its own Misibis and the area surrounding it. There are also so many undiscovered places here similar to Caramoan. I tried reserving at Misibis but the waiting list is so long. As evidenced by the pictures in its thread, Sorsogon has so many places with good tourism potential. Ditto with Catanduanes.

April 3rd, 2009, 05:36 AM
^^Agree, I've heard that the Gov. LRay is developing also a something like wharf in Sañgay area. I don't know the details but this according to that news it could be another tourist attraction in that area. It seems every tourism-related project by the governor is focused on the Partido Area.

would you believe that garchetorina has more tourisim potential than caramoan its has vast of white beaches and limestone clifts and other rock formation and even surf, dive spots......:)

I've lived in Garchitorena for 6 years but I haven't explored the beauty of the place. The municipal hall is located on the hilltop and there you can witness the serenity of the sea and the mountainous area surrounding it. So calm and quiet!

On April 16-18, the city will host the 25th National Midyear Convention of the prestigious Philippine Urological Association at the trendy Avenue Convention Plaza where some 300 delegates, aside from their accompanying wives and children, will be billeted at the flashy Avenue Plaza Hotel and the brand-new Mediterranean aura of Villa Caceres Hotel. Dr. Ronnie Ursua, Naga’s A-1 urologist, is at the center of the huge task of ensuring a memorable and fun-filled gathering of the country’s best medical specialists. Its success will pave the way for the bigger and grander national convention of the Philippine Medical Association that Naga City will be bidding to host in 2010.

And as the doctors wind up their mid-year convention on April 19, some 3,500 athletes and coaches will come marching in for the formal opening of the 2009 Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) National Games. The weeklong sports competition has scheduled the grand opening ceremonies on April 20 with no less than Her Excellency, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as guest of honor and speaker at the expansive Metro Naga Sports Complex, home of three Palarong Pambansa that Naga hosted in 1997, 2002 and 2004. Once again, student athletes will be displaying the Olympic spirit of Citius, Altius, Fortius, to determine who among the student gladiators are faster, higher, and stronger.

It was fifty years ago on February 15-21, 1959 that the national edition of PRISAA Games was first held in our city. At that time, the 5th National PRISAA Meet (its first was held March 1953 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Harrison, Manila) was described as “feverish with excitement as the continuous rounds of games and literary musical events flourished” and the Bicol host colleges led by the University of Nueva Caceres, the first private university in South Luzon, showed their best and warmest in terms of sportsmanship, hospitality, camaraderie and friendship that ensured the success of that national sports competition.

After the games, Naga will again be bursting with color and pageantry as its hosts the 2-day grand opening ceremonies of the 2009 Filipino Heritage Festival, the first of its kind to be held in Bicol. The Filipino Heritage Festival, Inc. and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) have chosen Naga, together with Legazpi City, as the kick-off venues for the annual heritage festival on April 29-30 and May 1-2, 2009, respectively.

By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 439 which declares May each year as National Heritage Month, the Philippines holds nationwide monthlong celebration centered on heritage. It features performances, visual arts, exhibits, thematic culinary events and other activities emphasizing traditions and customs performed on heritage sites. With its rich socio-clerico history, Naga City, then known as Ciudad de Nueva Caceres, fittingly qualifies as venue for a colorful opening ceremony of the nations’ biggest and widest cultural heritage showcase.

In accepting the invitation to host this year’s opening extravaganza, City Mayor Jesse Robredo stressed that Naga’s participation is in solidarity with the Filipino people’s common goal to strengthen, especially in these trying times, the social fabric as a potent tool in nation-building. The Naga event promises to bring the best of Bicolano talents as reflected in song and dance, in fashion, as well as in its architecture, literature and cuisine.

I remembered last 23rd Seagames which was hosted by the country, Naga City is also bidding for some Sport Events spec. Basketball.

Can’t wait for the completion of Metro Naga Coliseum, a perfect venue for concert, convention and sport event.

There is also a nice Sport Complex in Pili, I Forgot the name? Hope in near future we can host Seagames or any International event..Much better if the whole region could participate as satellite venue.

Yes, that's the BEAUTY of our City it's not only Financially Industrialize but also Agro-Industrialize, because of the strategic location of Carolina and Pacol.
The upland is fertile and the climate is just like Baguio most suitable for crops as you noted. If you can see the the fruit stands at the corner of Penafrancia Ave. and Magsaysay ave., almost all the fruits at the stand are harvested in Pacol and Carolina.
Penafrancia Ave. and Magsaysay ave. is becoming one of the busy area in our City due to the fruits solved in that area.banana:
Pacol and Carolina supply the Supermarket of the flowers as you noted.

BARANGAY PACOL and CAROLINA are few of the large barangay of Naga City.

3. Biggs
4. Graceland/Baker's Plaza
5. Ghastof (2nd Branch in Naga)

We don't have Graceland in the city. Baker's Plaza yes we have. So is it Graceland or Baker's Plaza which will be opening up in SM?

Graceland and Baker's Plaza are the same or under one management. Graceland has a signage at Baker's Plaza near UNC.

Gov sees new heights for tourism in CamSur

By Juan Escandor Jr.
Inquirer Southern Luzon
First Posted 01:07:00 04/04/2009

PILI, CAMARINES SUR – The international wakeboarding championship that was held here from March 25-29 was a boost to the province’s tourism industry, according to Gov. Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte.

He said the international wakeboarding championship, held here for the second time, is part of the marketing package of Camarines Sur to bring the tourism industry here to new heights.

“It is easy to lure foreign tourists to come here because of the facilities built but it is most important to give an experience to make them come back and tell others to visit us,” he said.

Villafuerte said the international wakeboard participants came from the United States, Australia, Germany, United Kingdom, Singapore, Indonesia, Israel, Russia, New Zealand, Norway, France, Hong Kong, South Korea, South Africa, Canada, Philippines, The Netherlands, Thailand, Denmark, Russia, and Austria.

Similar to Anawangin's beach lined with agoho (an evergreen species of trees that look like pine trees), Apuao Grande Island, one of several islands belonging to the so called Mercedes group of islands, has beaches without the dangerous undercurrent of Anawangin.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_w5zmQN20EOc/SChWqQ0INDI/AAAAAAAAB5o/sHyozJzoajQ/s400/philippines+camarines+norte+mercedes+apuao+grande+island.jpg

Other islands belonging to Mercedes Group of Islands: Canton Island, Quinapagihan Island, Caringo Island, Canimog Island, and Malasugui Island.

Other Places to see in Mercedes:

Colasi Falls - about 70 meters in height and can be reached by hiking/trekking. located in barangay Colasi. Canta Cave, Caringo Island Resort on Caringo Island

How to get there:

Commute: from Daet, board a jeepney bound for Mercedes. Ask around for the fish port (pantalan or pandawan) then hire a boat to take you there for about 45 minutes.

This island which was once featured in a French/Italian movie "Mutiny in the South Seas" is located a few kilometers off Nato beach.
The island is under the Municipaliy of Sangay in Partido area, Camarines Sur.

Atulayan is about 30min boat ride from Nato and can be reached via a rented outrigger.
The name of this island was derived from the term "atol" which in Bicol means snail. From afar the island indeed looks like a snail with slopes and curves extending from the top to the shorelines.

Ivory colored beach, lush forests, rocky shorelines and friendly inhabitants are what you can expect in Atulayan.

My mom said we had a relatives living this beautiful island

April will be a hectic month for Naga City.

Phinma plans more sites for Microtel
Companies
Sunday, 05 April 2009 22:55

MICROTEL Development Corp. (MDC), the hospitality arm of the Phinma Group, is eyeing new sites for more Microtel Inns and Suites, a chain of economy hotels.

Its president Jose Mari del Rosario, in an interview over the weekend, said among the locations being considered are Dagupan, Angeles City (Pampanga), Dumaguete, Cagayan de Oro, Naga City and General Santos City.

“There is really growth in domestic tourism,” del Rosario said, adding that at least three Microtels would be put up this year.

On the average, a Microtel hotel has 50 to 60 rooms, each one built at a cost of P1.8 million per room. But if a Microtel hotel is located in a tourist or resort locations, it normally has a bigger number of rooms or about 160, just like the one located in Mactan, Cebu.

MDC currently operates Microtel hotels in Baguio City, Tarlac, Cavite, Batangas, Boracay, Davao, Puerto Princesa (Palawan), Cabanatuan and Mactan, Cebu.

Del Rosario said they are scheduled to open this year the 10th Microtel within the SM Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City. The planned hotel will have 150 rooms.

“We cater to both local and international business travelers and value-minded tourists. We will fill the growing, and as yet, unmet, demand for cost-efficient business travel,” he said.

In 2007, MDC introduced Hawthorn Suites, a quality extended hotel stay brand from the United States. Del Rosario said it was the success of Microtel Philippines that encouraged them to bring Hawthorn Suites. They also saw demand for an upscale extended stay brand, especially travelers who stay longer in the urban cities. Honey Madrilejos-Reyes

I watched this last night. Every filipino should be proud of CWC. truly world-class!

Yeah, it's nice to see foreign tourists!!! The feeling is different, it's like you're in another country. An added facility has been opened like the winchpark. The governor seems to have undying innovative ideas. Every year there is new.

Maybe, there is a reason why they closed at the plaza area. I'm pretty sure, one of the reason is the local tax.
But most Bicolano customers really likes Pizza Hut.

It's not the tax, I guess, it's the location. Pizza Hut is situated in a middle class location whereas Pizza hut is an upscale one so it fits to the lifestyle center locations which cater upper class people.

Starview Hotel of Naga City is located in the main core of Naga City. The hotel is located near many restaurants and with in walking distance to Emall and Robertson Mall. . Competent establishments and firms, entertainment bars, malls, various cultural, historical, and tourist attractions also surround the hotel. Try the affordable, modern, and elegant Naga City Starview Hotel in the Philippines.

Pizza Hut closed its operations according (according to its former manager who was assigned in Pizza Hut SM Batangas but has returned for the SM City Naga opening) becuase it was not earning well then .

It started before the Magsasay Food strip boom and it did well on the first 2 years of operation. But when the city nightlife shifted to Magsaysay after Avenue Square opened (Shakey's, Wok, and Lolo's Bar moved out of centro to Magsasay Ave), Pizza Hut which is an expensive fine dining restaurant was left alone with fast food chains to compete.

It decided to close down after SM City Naga started its construction and leased its buiding to Biggs and Red Ribbon. It intend to relocate at SM City being a regular anchor store.

It would however open a smaller restaurant with 6 to 8 tables on KFC building, the one occupied by a Tiangge.

KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell are owned by Pepsi Cola Comapny and the Araneta's are the Philippine Franchise Holder,

Top honchos of Robinsons were in Naga recently and stayed at Avenue Plaza Hotel.

They came to seriously scout for a location for thier full mall operation. Although not final yet- if plans would push thru and some property owners would agree, they intend to buy out E mall and convert it to a full scale Robinsons Place Naga.

Negotiations are on- going.

It also intend to expand the mall to the other side of the road connected by an overhead bridge to the Nagaland Hotel to be converted as a part of the mall. Nagaland Hotel still has a huge undeveloped backlot exteding up to the old GSIS buiding and also owned by E-mall.

The group also apprently negotiated to buy the Dabu buildng on the mall's east side for further expansion.

The same move was done by the group by buying out the Luisita Mall in Tarlac and was converted to a full scale Robinsons' Mall.

If everything would turn out well- Naga City would have a Robinsons' Mall sooner than we think.

Hopefully Robinson will push through and i believe they will. It's a race between SM and Robinson.

Yes, i agree the area at the back of NagaLand hotel is a big space. What I know that the OLD GSIS building is owned by the Cityhall. Or did the Enrile family bought the OLD GSIS building years ago?

Enrile also owned the satellite market area at Barlin st.and the stalls rented by the muslims are Enrile properties too, except for Ramaida Building.

Hope Dr. Dabu will agree to sell his property and next to Dr. Dabu building is the Enrile buidling at the Penafrancia ave.

Is the area where the Bolofer's located owned by the Enrile? as i know it is owned by South start drug and the former Rural bank of Nueva Caceres is owned by the Ravanera's.

thanks for the information again

Guys pansin ko ang bilis ng mga pangyayari no? Alam naman natin ang competition between the 2 malls, lalo na sa mga branches nila in provinces asahan mo kapag may SM may Robinson Place...!! It happened in Bacolod, Fairview, Pampanga, Marikina etc.

Then sa Naga City. They bought Luisita mall of the Cojuanco's!! I did'nt know that, Tapos plano nilang bilhin ang NAGALAND E-Mall, sana magkasundo ang sila ng owner. Unexpected to guys, Naga boy husay mo talaga!!

If it happened mauunahan nila ang Pacific Mall

wow, great news to Nagueños. Development is very rapid in our place. Much better if they will construct the Robinson's Mall outside CBD1. We still have vacant lots along Almeda Highway and Diversion Road.

Emall is a great landmark in Naga, branded as the smallest mall in Naga (aside from Bichara Mall, Emily Theater Mall and Shopper's Mall) sayang naman kung ibenta nila ito sa Robinsons. We should be proud of Emall because it is owned by a Nagueño and it is love by all Nagueños. And I don't think Dr. Dabu will agree to sold their properties because I think it is their ancestral house. (inda sana).
