2 HUGE Tarpaulin Announcing 2 BIG Events in Naga, Cam Sur
also, the on-going PCCL South Luzon @ the BIG Dome of the South

http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff507/Nagacity/046.jpg

My friend told me to attend the final game of Ateneo vs. Batangas( no idea about then name) it started 6pm.
Pao do you know the result?

Grabe ng kakanan digdi sa Naga... Kada kanto kakanan na sana :D

An pigsabing gaya-gaya puto maya... But we cannot blame them. They see CamSur's CWC a very successful one which is only very reasonable to be emulated.. But what is distinct to CWC, aside from being the pioneer in this kind of facility, is its proximity to another jewel of CamSur - Caramoan....

The copycat-mentality of Filipinos is one of the reasons why we stay afloat and not really soaring high. :ohno:

We as a Filipino should develop INNOVATIVE IDEAS, this is the key to a more progressive country, not the mentality of copying. Innovation takes practice skills, this should start from schools( not the traditional one) and family too.

Indeed very busy! This is one of the historic moments for Naga and CamSur as this is the very first time Bicol will host with this big event.

I wish this would be replicated in years to come...

After 22nd ADCONGRESS ... Conventions/Trainings of higher level in Management and Business would never be the same again in Camarines Sur and Naga City.
Hopefully we can organize/facilitate International conventions in the future

another one Joe Osabal of RMN NX identified to JMR (?)resigned to NX a station na neutral "kuno" for the sake of media business but inclined to Fuentebella's (?)

Ateneo Golden Knights failed to secure a slot for the PCCL Sweet 16 Finals as they bowed to the taller University of Batangas Brahman with a slim margin of 7 points. Halftime score showed dominance of the Brahmans in the perimeter and inside scoring. Ateneo manage to tie the score after a 15 point margin, but the Brahmans proved to be the more resilient as they outdo our local cagers.

Nweiz, congrats to the Ateneo Golden Knights.

Next week, Naga City will host once again games of the Sweet 16 Finals. Early teams to advanced in the Sweet 16 are; Ateneo de Manila, San Beda College, FEU, San Sebastian and 2 champion teams in Visayas.

Replays of the games this November 17, 12NN @ Studio 23.

A little birdie told me that the Old City Hall of Iriga City will be sold and demolished? Whhyyy? I believe that it is one of the few landmarks left untouched by the City Government; can we not at least spare the said edifice? Why not repair and preserve and turn it into a museum? The old charm of Iriga starts from the Old Margate Building, the Old City Hall and the Trinidad Building which now houses Biggs Iriga continue to stand the test of time, proving that the unadulterated beauty of both its land and the people who inhabit it have more wonders unearth at every visit. Its like looking for maaling gulay na katnga, santan, sangkaka, etc. PLEASE PRESERVE a little of our cultural heritage for our great grandchildren's children and for the next generation to appreciate the wonders of antiquity, unique charateristics and colorful history Iriga has to offer.

what will happen sir? hehe.. curious

It’s the World diabetes day tomorrow sivah.

It would be celebrated al over the world by illuminating a major monument with blue lights in major cities in each country.

The list include the Singapore Flyer, Empire Estate Building, Eiffel Tower, Sydney Harbor, Parthenon at the Acropolis to name a few.

Five cities in the Philippines were chosen to rpesent the country, Laoag, Manila, Naga, Cebu and Davao.
The Cathedral Grounds a would be bathed in blue lights together with other great monuments and landmarks around the world.

The Porta Mariae and the cathedral grounds, together with four other major cities in the Philippines would be beamed live by the International Diabetes Federation during the continuous simultaneous lighting (according to time zone) on November 14. Local media partner is ABS/CBN.

Lighting Up ceremonies would begin in New Zealand and Australia.

Mr. Larry Martin of the Pinoy Biggest Loser would be our inspirational guest and would serve as a perfect model for the anti- obesity campaign of the Diabetes Philippines.

Diabetes screening by candle light, Health Care Booths and Health Related Food products booth are open at the cathedral ground prior to the light up ceremonies.

7 PM is the formal light up to be headed by the Mayor and the Archbishop of Caceres.

Our very own SSC Camsur President, Oragon (pau) is the emcee. This would be Pau's first international media exposure.:)

I've been reading this "beaming blue" and quite intrigue why the color?:)

AdCongress22: Are you ready, CamSur?
http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/1327/56073327.jpg

MANILA, Philippines - Less than five years ago, this province was not on the events radar. It ranked low in the excitement meter. Prone to typhoons and other such wraths of nature, the province was in terribly bad shape.

But that is so 2007.

Camarines Sur – that’s CamSur for short – has since climbed from Number 39 to reach 10th place in the Philippines’ top 10 income-earning provinces. How’s that for a Cinderella story?

From Nov. 16 to 19, at the CWC Convention Hall, the Plenary Sessions of AdCongress22 will unfold to thousands of delegates from the country’s advertising industry. Dubbed “Change the Game,” AdCongress22 is nothing like its predecessors. Read more (http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=747858&publicationSubCategoryId=68)

Rep. Diosdado ‘Dato’ Arroyo would have health workers come from tribes
MANILA, Philippines—Camarines Sur Rep. Diosdado “Dato” Arroyo on Saturday urged the House of Representatives to prioritize a proposed law that would train tribal health workers (THW) for deployment to the country’s indigenous communities in order to better serve them.

Arroyo, along with his mother, former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, had filed House Bill No. 5227 or the Tribal Health Workers Act of 2011 which seeks to institutionalize the training and employment of tribal health workers. The measure is now in the House committee on health. Read more (http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/93063/rep-diosdado-%E2%80%98dato%E2%80%99-arroyo-would-have-health-workers-come-from-tribes)

While writing this post, I cannot help
but be reminded of
Simon and Garfunkels’ lively weekend song
Feeling Groovy

“Slow down, you move too fast, you've got to make the morning last
Just kickin' down the cobble-stones, lookin' for fun and feelin' groovy

Hello lamp-post, what's cha knowing, I've come to watch your flowers growin'
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me, do-it-do-do, feelin' groovy

I've got no deeds to do, no promises to keep
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me

Life I love you, all is groovy’

Indeed- it’s a groovy life in CamSur,
..and it is groovy to be in Camsur.

Yes.

It was the Tugawe Cove. It has Villas and you have to pass by an inland lake to check in. It has an infinity pool and all guests are given personal butler.

Call it Misibis of CamSur- but not as expensive.

And yes, just like the Village @ San Bernardino Farms, it was designed by Biboy Belleza.

It was designed with green (environment friendly) architcture in mind.

Transpo to the cove is included in the price.

The mother of all conventions is here.

I was watching the TV this morning and the topic at the ABS CBN morning talk show was about the AdCongress.

The organizers are all praises to the support being given by the CamSur and Naga City government to the congress organizers.

They said this is the first time they came out the comfort zone of Manila, Cebu, Baguio and Subic and they like what they see.

They are amazed on the superb accommodations in the city and in CamSur.

He also mentioned that CamSur have premium hotels like (Avenue Plaza, Villa Caceres, Starview and Regent Hotel) and superb resorts like the Village @ San Bernardino, CWC Gota Beach, Honogan Cove, Tugawe Cove and Macagang all rated triple A resorts by the Department of Tourism but offers what he said as back- packer's rates.

Its no wonder why tourists come in droves, stay in CamSur and sightsee other places in the Bicol. Amazing and game changing tourism program. He said. And that’s apparently why they are here as CamSur is the real game changer in the Philippines that the AdCongress s emulating.

It is heartening to listen to these experts praising the province's accomplishments. The Adcongress is a breath of fresh air for CamSur which despite its achievements are being bombarded by negative publicities lately by he people who want to divide the province into two.

The AdCongress proves them all wrong.

Yes, CamSur is ready for the big time,

I see, thanks Doc for the info..birthday ko palan ang celebration ng World Diabetes Day..hehe

CamSur ready for Ad Congress
By SARAH HILOMEN-VELASCO
November 14, 2011

MANILA, Philippines — It’s all set for the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress (PAC), or Ad Congress, to be held November 16-19 at the Camarines Sur (CamSur) Watersports Complex in Pili, Camarines Sur.

“We are ready as we can ever be. We’ve pulled all the stops and worked hard to make sure that this year’s PAC would be very successful and that we would give the delegates a great time,” said Camarines Sur Gov. Luis Raymund Villafuerte.

He disclosed that the provincial government created a 5,750 square-meter plenary hall and 3,750 square-meter exhibition hall to accommodate over 4,000 delegates, who are expected to converge at the CamSur Watersports Complex.

Gandang gabi! My friends and I are going to Naga and Legazpi this weekend. We are planning to take a bus from Cubao, Friday night. What bus line would you guys recommend?

Then we'll leave Legazpi for Manila Sunday night, bus ulet.

Thanks sa magreply!

welcome to Bicol!! 2 days??? kulang ang dalawang araw sa Bicol. hehe dagdagan nyo po.

personally, i'm only taking Isarog Lines or Penafrancia Tours Bus

For Penafrancia Tours Fare you can check it here http://pentoursfare.blogspot.com/

For Isarog Lines.. you can check out the buses from their Facebook account https://www.facebook.com/pages/Isarog-Lines/118071858254010
i'm just not sure if the fare still starts at 700 with their 2x1 seater bus.

if you want comfort and be able to wakeboard the morning after.. i suggest take the 2x1 seater type of bus. ang alam ko po yung mga new buses ng isarog at penafrancia ay yung medyo may kamahalan. pero sulit naman :D

from Legazpi, okay ang Cagsawa Tours na bus.. you can also ask the forumers from the Legazpi thread, for sure they'll be delighted to help you out.

In the afternoon you can roam around Naga City, the rich culture of Naga is waiting for you, or if you still have time, punta po kayo sa Panicuason Hot Spring (http://www.nagacitydeck.com/2011/05/guide-to-panicuason-hot-spring-resort.html). Don't forget to try out Bicol's dishes at Geewan and of course Bigg's Diner.

Where will you stay during saturday night? night life in Naga is vibrant, check out Magsaysay Avenue as it will be the last day of the Ad Congress. :okay:

watch this timelapse about Naga.. it's all here po :D

Then we'll leave Legazpi for Manila Sunday night, bus ulet.

Thanks sa magreply!

You could take DLTB bus kung gusto mong magsurf with their free wi-fi service :okay:

Trivia: meron itong isang bus directly plying the Bicol-Bacoor route :okay:

^^ hello! Thanks for the suggestion. dami na pala talaga bus na may wifi. I think we will be taking Penafrancia cause it's the cheapest. :okay:

pero hindi na kami magpa-reserve. diretso na lang kami sa Araneta Friday night, marami naman daw bus lines na don. Isarog, RSL, Penafrancia. :)

22nd Ad Congress opens on Wednesday
MANILA, Philippines — From once being the 39th poorest province in the country to being the top tourist destination in 2009, Camarines Sur (CamSur) has gone a long way and now hosts the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress (PAC) which opens on Wednesday.

Expectations are high from an estimated 4,000 delegates from all over the country as they engage in four days of adventure and seminars at the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC), the first world-class water sports complex in Asia. Thanks for all the photos submitted in here.... :okay:
I'm sure I'll never recognized the new Naga City when I come back there.

dios marhay na hapon, bitoy. come home/ come visit soon and see the difference, and feel the same old, familiar warmth :)

Day 1 would be tomorrow.

Left Naga this morning. Cebu Pacific first flight was cancelled. AirPhil Express went thru- only a little bit late.

Bumpy plane ride as it was also rainy in Manila.

Any photos of the blue Porta Mariae yet?

oops, hope the other flights make it! airphil is still more reliable compared to 5J; i guess 2P has more experienced pilots flying to WNP than 5J.

the inquirer reports -- as doc has, too-- and increase of daily flights this week, from 5-6 flights a day, to 10-12 flights.

welcome to camsur, adcongress! have fun, everyone!

Naga City welcomes 22nd Philippine Ad Congress with a smile
November 16, 2011

MANILA, Philippines — Being the most populous and densest city in the Bicol region, Naga City is also the region’s commercial, financial, educational, religious and cultural center.

Game changers meet in CamSur for Ad Congress

THE NAME OF THE GAME Inquirer president and Ad Congress chairperson Sandy Prieto-Romualdez, AdBoard president Andres Khan and Camarines Sur Gov. LRay Villafuerte are all psyched up at the start of Ad Congress22 on Wednesday. JIM GUIAO PUNZALAN

PILI, Camarines Sur—All roads—and flights for that matter—lead to the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC), where the country’s advertising industry players and practitioners are holding the 22nd Philippine Ad Congress for the first time with the theme “Change the Game” in a facility built primarily for extreme sports.

Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez, who had been a principal player in the industry, will keynote the Ad Congress Thursday morning.

Some 2,200 people have registered to experience a unique outdoor venue unlike past congresses that were usually held in hotels or big structures, according to Blen Fernando, chairperson for registration.

“Here, it’s like a complex and then you a build a structure to accommodate what you want to show or exhibit,” she said.

The Ad Congress is a biennial event organized under the auspices of the Advertising Board of the Philippines (AdBoard). This year’s congress chairperson is Alexandra Prieto-Romualdez, president and chief executive officer of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

2012 seen as difficult year for advertisers
By Juan Escandor Jr.
Inquirer Southern Luzon
November 17th, 2011

THE NAME OF THE GAME Inquirer president and Ad Congress chairperson Sandy Prieto-Romualdez, AdBoard president Andres Khan and Camarines Sur Gov. LRay Villafuerte are all psyched up at the start of Ad Congress22 on Wednesday. JIM GUIAO PUNZALAN

PILI, Camarines Sur—The country’s advertising industry may experience a difficult year in 2012 as it feels the effects of the economic turmoil in the United States and Europe, according to an industry player.

“This coming year may be a little more difficult because major countries are undergoing some economic downturn,” said Andres Khan, chair of the Advertising Board of the Philippines (AdBoard).

But Khan is still optimistic, citing the continuing strength of the peso and the Philippines as still one of the best investment areas.

The AdBoard is implementing “game-changing” revisions in the protocols of the association which Khan will unveil today in the 22nd Ad Congress being held under its auspices at the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) here.

“The most critical change after a quarter of a century is to make the membership of the AdBoard open to other associations that are involved in what is now known as the marketing communications industry,” Khan said.

For the past 25 years, he said the advertising industry had changed and evolved into an integrated marketing communications industry.

Be back tonight to get info's on possible tie-ups with the trade exhibitors. Also, attending companies of the Ads Congress take the opportunity in outsourcing applicants particularly here in Naga, mostly BPO,s, Stellar, Convergys and HP drop by at the office.

Government to tap OFWs, social media users in tourism campaigns (http://www.sunstar.com.ph/pangasinan/local-news/2011/11/17/government-tap-ofws-social-media-users-tourism-campaigns-191068)

Thursday, November 17, 2011

NAGA CITY (Updated 3:20 p.m.) -- The Department of Tourism revealed Thursday its plan to tap 12 million overseas Filipino workers and more than 30 million citizens on social networking sites to be the country's "travel agents".

Speaking at the opening ceremonies of the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress at the CamSur Watersports Complex here, Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. said Philippines cannot play the way tourism is played right now.

He said the congress theme "Change the Game" is a valuable insight to the country's tourism. He agreed that the Philippines needs to change the game and it is to "work what we got."

The Philippines has 12 million citizens working in various countries abroad, 27 million users on popular social networking site Facebook, and 10 million on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Jimenez calls for a tourism central strategy to be executed by millions of Filipinos in the country and abroad who feel they have the power to encourage people to visit the Philippines.

He said the country cannot compete with the rest of the world's tourism campaign due to lack of financial and logistical capabilities.

To change the game, Filipinos should first know that the Philippines is not a place to see but a place to be, he said.

"The Philippines is a place to be, if you are tired of the present lifestyle; it is the place to be, if you seek natural adventure with nature and the wildlife; It is the place to be, if you want new friends, reconnect with values, family and faith; It is the place to be, if you want a lot of dancing, singing and revelry," Jimenez said.

"We have to believe that Filipinos love their country," he said, adding that and this can be capitalized by using images and words in persuading tourists to visit the Philippines.

This is the way to go in executing President Benigno Aquino III's agenda of making tourism the people's business, he added. (MVG/Sunnex)

PILImania leads greening movement in Naga City (http://www.pia.gov.ph/?m=1&t=1&id=64253)
by Lizel S. Macatangay

CAROLINA, Naga City, Nov.16 (PIA) -- More than 1,200 health buffs and environmentalists trekked the mountainous area of Barangay Panicuason, Carolina , this city during the fun walk cum tree planting held over the weekend.

Dubbed as “Pilimania,”it is a city-wide planting, mostly of pili trees in the city outskirts, intended not just to promote the viability of the said nut but also to showcase the Nagueños’ strong resolve to combat the ill-effects of climate change by targeting 40,000 trees to be planted by 2012.

Fara R. Bongat, Naga City ’s First Lady, sits as chairperson of Pilimania 2011 Executive Committee. Bongat has been actively calling for the support of the residents, particularly those from barangay agricultural and residential zones, including those residing in subdivisionS to allot their spaces and vacant lots for the propagation of various tree seedlings.

On Saturday, participants of the activity convened at the Don Bosco College at Carolina, Camarines Sur at 7am bringing with them pili, mahogany and narra tree seedlings and took part in the “Lakadan ta, Pa-Isarog,” (Lakaw, Dalagan saka Tanom Pasiring Mt. Isarog) tree planting.

Started by some local government officials and employees in April 2011 where 12,000 pili trees were planted, Pilimania supporters now include green advocates from various educational institutions, government and private employees and individuals who have been behind the noble cause.

Pilimania, the first ever in the city is the centerpiece project of Mayor John Bongat under

his administration’s Greening Environment Protection, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (GrEET) Program. (MAL/LSM, PIA Camarines SUr)

Make tourism a people's campaign, says Jimenez
By TRICIA V. MORENTE
November 17, 2011

PILI, Camarines Sur, Philippines – Veteran adman and now Department of Tourism (DoT) Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr. delivered an empowering keynote address to over 2,000 delegates in this year’s 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress (AdCongress22) themed “Change the Game” at the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) here last Thursday.

“In my three months as your Tourism Secretary, I learned that it is far easier to be the one to change the way the game is played than to simply be the one who plays the current game well,” said Jimenez.

The mainstream approach to tourism places financially-challenged countries like the Philippines at a tremendous disadvantage.

DoT chief bats for ‘people power’ as ‘game-changing’ strategy to boost arrivals
By: Juan Escandor Jr.
Inquirer Southern Luzon
Thursday, November 17th, 2011

PILI, Philippines—In the age of new media and world teen idol Justin Bieber, “game change” has become the buzzword among advertising industry leaders, movers and shakers participating in the 22nd Philippine Ad Congress here.

Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr., who keynoted the biennial event at the Camarines Sur Convention Center, tweaked on “people power” and gave it a new flavor to drive home the new thrusts of the tourism industry under the Aquino administration.

Summoning “people power” is a game-changing strategy to push tourist arrivals in the Philippines amid stiff competition from its Asian neighbors, Jimenez said.

He said infrastructure was not the main drawer of tourists, but the welcoming people and beautiful scenery that the country could offer. “The priority is to prepare our people to welcome tourists because our beautiful sites are (there) already,” he said.

Held for the first time in Bicol at the CamSur Watersports Complex, the ad congress will run to Saturday with the theme “Changing the Game.”

Advertising Congress: Creativity with a purpose
By: Roger Pe
Philippine Daily Inquirer
Thursday, November 17th, 2011

We are talking about brands that make our lives a little better and ads that are not just art but sharper than ever before—more effective in making the bottom lines.

As the 22nd Ad Congress comes to a close Saturday, we hope that the event’s call for “Change the Game” will not remain a passive, lonely, meaningless slogan up there beside the ubiquitous logo—reverberating for one week, forgotten the next.

Today is a game-changing moment.

Ad Congress delegates must believe that it is not just a convention of ad agencies but learning to adapt to new changes that have begun.

Today, we ask if we’re in synch with marketers’ brand-building efforts, expanding and shifting media options, embracing global trends, or even mentoring communication students who are going to take their turn in the next few years.

AUGURING A GRAND ADCONGRESS. The screening and selection of usherettes held last Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the lobby of the Provincial Capitol would proximate that of the Miss Bicolandia or Kaogma as beauteous maidens paraded and presented themselves before the members of the screening committee as they aspire to be part of the 22nd AdCongress Philippines which will unfold in CamSur for the very first time. Thanks to Gov. Lray Villafuerte whose relentless efforts in promoting the province once again paid off and earned the province a stab at hosting the prestigious event. The screening is but part of the meticulous preparations being undertaken by the provincial government that may very well augur a grandiose hosting of the AdCongress here in CamSur.

TECH-DRIVEN MEDIA. Camarines Sur Gov. The chair of this year’s ad congress is Sandy Prieto-Romualdez (seated, second from right). The other members of the executive committee are (seated, from left): Barbie Atienza, Merlee Jayme, AdBoard chair Andre Kahn and Blen Fernando. NAGA CITY, Philippines—Only an hour past noon, taxi driver Edwin S. Urbana had already earned enough for his “boundary,” transporting delegates of the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress from Naga to the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC), about 15 km away from the city, as the Ad Congress opened here this week.

Ordinarily, Urbana would have had to ply the streets of Naga from morning till evening or wait for passengers needing to go to a far-off destination to earn the P800 “boundary,” the daily rental drivers have to pay taxi operators.

But since delegates began arriving days before the Ad Congress opened on Wednesday, Urbana said he has been earning good money.

The taxi driver was not the only one benefiting from the event.

“It’s like a fiesta in Naga. You know, there are lots of people in the city based from the number of cars plying the streets,” said Alec Francis Santos, the head of the city’s Arts, Culture and Tourism Office.

More people means more sales and income for businesses in the city, he said.

“In fact, the demand for pili nut products at the Naga City People’s Mall is very high. The volume of people going there is also high,” he said. The Naga City People’s Mall is the city’s public market.

Santos also said the four-day event was providing temporary employment for residents of the city, especially local cottage industries producing souvenir items like bags fashioned out of water lilies.

All Naga City hotels were also fully booked. “Some delegates (who could no longer find hotel rooms) even availed of home stays,” he said.

More than the direct boost the event is giving the local economy, the Ad Congress has also widened the investment prospects of the city and neighboring areas, particularly with about a hundred companies and businesses participating in the trade exhibit at the Capitol grounds, which adjoin the CWC, located in the town of Pili.

The exhibits make the provincial capitol grounds teem with people trooping in from nearby Naga City and other towns to see and interact with company representatives.

Amid the hot weather, hundreds of residents here and visitors went to the trade fair on board free shuttles provided by the provincial government.

Dubbed as “TRADEX22 RUGAME?,” the exhibit is part of the Ad Congress conducted from Oct. 16 to 19. Booths that showcase companies’ services and products were set up near the CWC.

Among the participating companies were the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., Vista Land, Resorts World, Robinsons’ Communities, and many others.

Each of the participating companies boasted state-of-the-art displays topped by giant screens from two of the country’s leading television networks.

Naga welcomes Ad Congress with a smile (http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=749457&publicationSubCategoryId=87)
(The Philippine Star) Updated November 18, 2011 12:00 AM

MANILA, Philippines - Being the most populous and densest city in the Bicol region, Naga City is also the region’s commercial, financial, educational, religious and cultural center.

Tagged as the “heart of Bicol,” Naga City is also very much able, willing and is pumped up for the 22nd Philippine Ad Congress at the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC) as it carries out “Naga Smiles to 22nd Philippine Ad Congress.”

“We are privileged to be part of this event and we support the Ad Congress 100 percent by making Naga City available to them. We (are) having some activities in the city to entertain the delegates,” said Luis Miguel III, president and chief executive officer of Tree III Advertising.

http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/1072/travel1b.jpg
On Days 1-4 of the Ad Congress, Naga City offers a slew of activities designed to entice delegates after a day of talks. “Tree III Advertising, The Next Step Events and the city government led by its hardworking leader, Mayor John Bongat, had a great collaboration on the idea of showcasing the rich heritage of the city and its exquisite charm,” said Miguel.

Naga is home to the region’s patroness, Our Lady of Peñafrancia, whom the locals call “Ina,” and has preserved many of the city’s history not only in print but also in artifacts found in its museums or structures just around the corner.

But there is more than just history within the city. “We also want to show that Naga is a fast-moving and performing city and the city is ready to cater to big events such as the Ad Congress,” Miguel said.

Only 15 minutes away from the CWC, Naga fun during their stay. For the food trippers, there is always a feast within the LCC Mall grounds as “Naga Delights” gets a headstart among all the events that will happen in Naga until tomorrow.

The fi rst day of the Ad Congress on Wednesday was packed by events. The night kicked off with a Christmas tree-lighting event at Centro Naga. It was immediately followed by a street dance parade and marching bands coming from Centro Naga dancing their way to Magsaysay Avenue. “Bar Wars” happened right after at Westpark Leisure Hub for a night of showdown among bartending savvies. And the night was highlighted by a beach party at Bora Hut.

Naga will rock the Ad Congress with a charity concert today at Quezon Plaza, Centro Naga. Tree Advertising partners with the Department of Education for the “Ten Moves” campaign.

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/5508/travel1c.jpg
“The city is helping ‘Ten Moves’ to send the message to the people that everyone can be empowered to make a difference in this country,” Miguel said.

Naga will rock the Ad Congress with the bands that will follow. Finally, a White Party event will happen tomorrow at Westpark Penthouse on Magsaysay Avenue.

“The role of Naga is to really support and help CamSur, being the venue of the Ad Congress.

What we are doing in Naga is going to be complementary to both areas,” Miguel said.

This shows that Naga City and the Ad Congress are not just about the talks and parties but also about sharing and changing for the better, which is very much in line with the 22nd Ad Congress’ theme: “Change the Game.” Naga is also getting a lot of help from various sponsors such as Smart, Coke, Honda, Sony, Joylong, Starcom-Mcdonalds and Mister Donut to make “Naga Smiles” possible.

“The Philippine Advertising Congress is a biennial industry event where more than 3,500 industry professionals from brands, advertisers, media, agencies, suppliers, and marketing/advertising executives meet and gather to discuss industry trends and forecast, network and expand industry contacts, build marketing relationships, and get business ideas,” Miguel said.

“The magnitude of this event will definitely benefit the city’s economy since it could also attract investors to set up their business in the city,” he added.

For sure, Naga City and its guests will have a lot of moments to smile about.

We're not the most populous city in the region. Sometimes journalists ah. :ohno:

Ad Congress told TV’s Big 3 not a crowd

TV TITANS. Lawyer Felipe Gozon (left), chief executive and chair of GMA Network Inc., Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, chair and CEO of ABS-CBN, and Manuel Pangilinan, chair of TV5, share the stage with congeniality at the Ad Congress in Camarines Sur province on Friday. DAVID ABRENILLA/CONTRIBUTOR

PILI, Camarines Sur, Philippines—There is room for three.

This was affirmed on Friday by the top executives of the country’s three rival television networks in a historic encounter at the 22nd Philippine Ad Congress, the biennial gathering of advertisers that this year has chosen the theme “Changing the Game.”

ABS-CBN, GMA 7 and newcomer TV5 may be in a deathly race against one another for ratings, but on Friday their chief executive officers (CEOs)—Eugenio Lopez III, Felipe L. Gozon and Manuel V. Pangilinan, respectively—for the first time stood side by side in one stage to share their thoughts on the future of television and media.

The three media giants not only shared similar beliefs on the need to keep up with changing technology but also in their confidence about the future of the broadcast industry even if there are now three major players competing for advertising revenue.

PRIZED GIFT. A man proudly shows off a doe, female goat, before curious onlookers. He is just one of the hundreds of beneficiaries of the goat dispersal project partnered by the provincial government under the leadership of Gov. LRay Villafuerte and SEARCA, a non-profit and non-stock training and research organization under EU-FPAVAS program with the goal to improve life in remote barangays in CamSur.

With one goat dispersed to a family, it will hardly impact except the fact that they will have an animal to tend to now. They should have given out a pair which could mate when the season comes. That way breeding is guaranteed and somehow ensures livelihood for the family. In solitude, the goat is doomed.:bash:

Trivia:
Female goat is called NANNY
Male goat is called BILLY
Young goat is called KID

Doe is a female deer (Remember that nursery /rhyme?):)

STILL ONGOING. An initiative of Gov. Classes will start on the first week of January, 2012.

Kapuso sets P121M for bigger Bicol TV
By Shiena M. Barrameda
Bicol Mail

Due to overwhelming positive response from local audience here and in the province of Camarines Sur, television giant GMA 7 is set to expand into multimillion communications center to house both its television and radio stations in this city.

Oliver Victor B. Amoroso, Assistant Vice President of the Integrated Marketing Services (IMS) Division of GMA’s Regional Department, confirmed that the new station will be situated in Barangay Concepcion Pequeña, this city.

He added that this station would be the largest regional originating station of GMA in Southern Luzon due to the success and large audience that the Kapuso network has drawn in the Bicol Region since the launching of its local program ‘Isyu Ngonian,’ hosted by Elmer Caseles, right after the Peñafrancia Fiesta last year.

He said that the entire refurbished station would cost around P121 million.

The compound would house the towers and offices of the television and radio production divisions of the network,as well as the offices for the marketing and sales departments,

Amoroso explained that this originating station will not only cater to Camarines Sur audience but the entire Bicol Region. Aptly, the Naga-based station will henceforth be dubbed as GMA Bicol.

To express its appreciation for the increasing TV audience and early successes in marketing, the network brought over actors Aljur Abrenica, Bella Padilla, Chariz Samson, Mike Tan, Dion Ignacio, Sam Pinto, Ryza Cenon and Bicolano-born Mark Herras, whose father hailed from Magarao, Camarines Sur, for an early Christmas event called “Jammin’ sa KapuSONG Pasko” at SM City Naga last Sunday, November 13.
