Camp Elias Angeles, Pili, Camarines Sur – A Joint Assistance Center (JAC) of LGU Pili, PNP and the AFP was inaugurated yesterday morning at Brgy Caroyroyan in the capital town of Pili in Camarines Sur with the Hon. Tomas P Bongalonta, municipal Mayor of Pili, PCIns Ely R Compuesto, Chief of Police of Pili Municipal Police Station and Major General Josue S Gaverza Jr, Commander of the 9th Infantry (Spear) Division.

The JAC is a joint project of LGU Pili, PNP and the AFP purposely to address the security assistance needs in crossing Caroyroyan as more establishments are being constructed and as the numbers of commuters are increasing in the area.

ILO Video Contest on Decent Work for Youth

The International Labour Organization (ILO) has launched a video contest for young people (from 18 to 29 years) to show how the global jobs crisis is affecting their lives.

Three winners will be invited to Geneva (all expenses paid) to attend the ILO Youth Employment Forum, to be held from 23-25 May 2012, where they will have the opportunity to present their videos.

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Railways (PNR) has announced it will make available additional trips to Bicol starting next month in line with state efforts to improve connectivity between Metro Manila and key provinces.

Aside from the additional trips every week, the PNR’s management also announced the extension of the train line’s route from Naga, the current destination, to Polangui, Ligao, and Travesia in Albay.

The two new services, called the Mayon Limited De Luxe and the Mayon Limited Ordinary, will kick off next week. The MLD will run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while the MLO will run every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

These additional services will depart from the PNR’s Tutuban station at 8:30 p.m., after the daily Bicol Express which departs at 6:30 p.m. The new train services arrive 5:45 a.m. in Naga City, 6:50 a.m. in Polangui and 7:00 a.m. in Ligao, Albay, the next day.

The one-way fare for the Mayon Limited De Luxe is P716.00 for Naga and P768.00 for Ligao, while that for the Mayon Limited Ordinary is P416.00 and P491.00 for Naga and Ligao respectively.

The additional trains will have different configurations: the MLD will have three air-conditioned coaches, all of which are fitted with executive reclining seats, while the MLO will have three cars fitted with electric fan-ventilated coaches and fixed (nonreclining) seats.

With the entry of McDonald's in Magsaysay (it's 5th branch in Naga City) would this signal the entry of other fast food chains in that Fine Dining and wining strip?

They are building right in front of Mexicali which a believe is a direct but more expensive competitor of Mc Donald's.

Just noticed, Cold Shack Ice Cream Parlor in Cereza Magsaysay is such a hit among foreign tourists. It is always filled with Caucasians even late at night.

I noticed a new store named Mexita in Magsaysay. Is it a Mexican inspired store like Mexicali?

:):):) Cold Shack serves the Fruits in Ice Cream brand -- really good. the colors of the ice cream parlor make you want to lick the walls!

time to serve kinalas (maybe even pancit inulas) for the exotic experience.

We'll try Mexita on weekend. The only thing that I observed is that the store looks as if it's not air-conditioned as they have an open facade.

We tried a new restaurant at Westpark, Papa Crispy's- the restaurant interior looks weird with all those plastic decors but what do you know? They have the best tasting lechon in the whole world in my opinion. Better than lechon Cebu. With all the herbs and spices stuffed in before cooking- who needs those fat laden sarsa?

My wife and I were so impressed with the food that we demanded to meet the chef to thank and
congratulate him.

It turned out that it was owned by a former chef in Bahrain who personally cooks in his new restaurant.

As I said before, the resto interior is a little bit on the 'baduy' side but you'll forget everything about it as you would be closing your eyes anyway to savor the food served in the table.

I'll give Papa Crispy a ZERO for the ambiance but a whole hearted 10 stars for the magnificent cuisine.

Ironically the poor taste on the restaurant decor is compensated by the mmmmmmmmm taste of food.

LECHON at it's best.

Ayon sa Pagasa, partikular na apektado ng mga maulap na kalangitan hanggang sa may mga pag-aambon ang silangang bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao.

Samantala, kung medyo maulan sa Visayas at Mindanao, pinaalalahanan naman ng Pagasa ang taongbayan sa Luzon laban sa heat stroke.

Ito ay dahil sa matinding sikat ng araw ang inaasahan sa maghapon.

Nabatid na ilang araw na ring umaaabot ng 34 degrees Celsius ang temperatura sa Luzon lalo na sa Metro Manila.

6:30 pm po Hali kayan jan sa Naga Terminal.
Tip:magdala ka po ning Kawatan or kaya Libangan mo habang nagbabyahe ka.para dai ka maboring sa byahe.
magdara ka po palan kumot ta subrang lipot sa tren.

sa mismong terminal ka po kayan makuang ticket.
pwede kaman sainda magpa reserved ticket.:)

^^Give few more years then Naga will have its first high-rise. It's a trend nowadays. I want high-rises to be built in Almeda not in CBD1. Almeda is just waiting to be developed thus an excellent master plan can be done unlike in CBD1 which is already congested.

Aside from these universities, the provincial government should start constructing municipal hospitals with well equipped facilities especially in far-flung municipalities like Caramoan, Garchitorena, Siruma, Del Gallego, Presentacion, and Ragay.

There are district hospitals in CamSur like that one in Libmanan, Caramoan, Tigaon and the recently opened in Bato. I am not sure if Ragay or Del Gallego has one each.

PILI, Camarines Sur—For an hour on Thursday, over 7,000 volunteers planted more than a million mangrove samplings in San Rafael, Ragay town, to set a new Guinness world record for Camarines Sur.
Carried out through CamSur’s year-old El Verde Movement that aims to plant 12 million trees at the end of 2012, the new record of 1,009,029 mangrove saplings planted in an hour was the second Guinness feat for the province after records it established in 2011 to 2012.
Seyda Subasi Gemici, Guinness World Record international adjudicator, handed down the world record certificate to Gov. Luis Raymund Villafuerte in ceremonies also on Thursday.
The new record was achieved by Camarines Sur a year after the province set a Guinness record for the most trees—64,096—planted on one site at one time, toppling the previous record of 50,033 trees held by India.
Led by Villafuerte, volunteers from the villages, different schools, Philippine Army and the group Kalipunan ng mga Pilipina joined the mangrove-planting campaign.
The El Verde Movement has so far planted 5.8 million trees, aside from the million mangrove samplings planted on March 8, since it was launched on Feb. 23, according to Villafuerte.

The size of the China bank savings bank is fine. I had been to JRS many times, the area quite spacious inside. For a savings bank it would be right. I think the location is a very strategic since many businesses situated and other banks are quite far from them. Probably not far from SM.

Somebody has to confirm this yet, or take a photo of the site.

Aside from the McDonalds Magsaysay, McDonald's diversion also apparently had stared construction way up ahead oh the one in Magsaysay that just started this week. The area has apparently been fenced and posts sticking out already.:)

It is located at the corner of Diversion road and Almeda highway just beside the new Metrobank that is almost 90% completed.

The info came from one of our employees so it's not really coming directly from the horses mouth.

But if this is true there would be 6 McDonald's in the city by this year. Way ahead of Jollibee which has 5 stores (going on 6 if they proceed with their Puregold Branch).

Bicol transport strike tagged as failure
Militant transport groups failed to muster enough numbers to paralyze transport operations in Bicol in a strike aimed at protesting the continued increase in fuel prices.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Bicol said the groups tried to disrupt public transport in Albay, Sorsogon and Camarines Sur but only a small number of drivers took part in the one-day strike on Saturday.

Three China Banks in Naga City, five BDO's, four BPI's and four Metrobanks.

Everything is sprouting like mushrooms in the city.

Also, a BPI employee of Padian branch mentioned that they will open another business center called Cash Hub this year in Naga City. Just dunuh what's the feature of BPI Cash Hub.

Somebody has to confirm this yet, or take a photo of the site.

Aside from the McDonalds Magsaysay, McDonald's diversion also apparently had stared construction way up ahead oh the one in Magsaysay that just started this week. The area has apparently been fenced and posts sticking out already.:)

It is located at the corner of Diversion road and Almeda highway just beside the new Metrobank that is almost 90% completed.

The info came from one of our employees so it's not really coming directly from the horses mouth.

But if this is true there would be 6 McDonald's in the city by this year. Way ahead of Jollibee which has 5 stores (going on 6 if they proceed with their Puregold Branch).

Old info from an employee of Mcdo. Bichara Mcdo will close this summer for renovation, employees will be stationed temporarily at Mcdo Plaza Quince Martires and Mcdo SM. Magsaysay Mcdo will have "made for you" concept. Mcdo Diversion is a long due plan, I think, it was 2010 during when the plan to put up a Drive Thru Mcdo at the corner of Roxas and Diversion road first surfaced in our discussion. The fenced lot fronting STI was even rumored to be the site of Mcdo Drive Thru.

How about BPI Bank-O? I think we have one here in Naga.

IMO the location is much better than their previous locations.
I don't think the skating rink offers a good location for those vendors. Bako siyang gayong agihan.

Old info from an employee of Mcdo. Bichara Mcdo will close this summer for renovation, employees will be stationed temporarily at Mcdo Plaza Quince Martires and Mcdo SM. Magsaysay Mcdo will have "made for you" concept. Mcdo Diversion is a long due plan, I think, it was 2010 during when the plan to put up a Drive Thru Mcdo at the corner of Roxas and Diversion road first surfaced in our discussion. The fenced lot fronting STI was even rumored to be the site of Mcdo Drive Thru.

it's about time they renovate Bikol's first McDonald's which opened in 1994.
with the Bee just across the street competition just gets more exciting.
