Shoppers Mall would not make any comment about their plans. Lets wait it would be another surprise. :).
It's true the " Domino effect" of other groceries nearby, specially Puregold prices are really low. I just hope our traditional businesses can compete in technology and customer service.

It will also brighten up the colors of the centro proper. Festive colors of establishments along centro proper.

A number of stores in the Naga City supermarket are already using environmental friendly materials, cost effective and very innovative design . The City Government will strongly imposed 0% plastic bag. We are looking forward to a GREEN CITY GO GO GO:banana:.

Household refuse is meticulously segregated, food waste has its own biodegradable bag, so it eliminates foul odor in ordinary rubbish bin. Pero kan pagkahiling ko kayan carry bag made of newspaper talbog ining yaon igdi, that is ingenuity at its best, uragon talaga ang mga tga NAGA!

It will also brighten up the colors of the centro proper. Festive colors of establishments along centro proper.

This summer, is the launching of grocery bags made of recycled tarpaulins with vector designs of Naga and Cam Sur tourism and historical sites.

Just a thought on the welcoming tarp. I hope mayor JB remain firm on not using his picture on any city events and undertakings. :)

Nakaalerto ngayon ang mga residente sa posibilidad na sumabog ang Bulkang Asog sa Camarines Sur.

Dalawang lugar sa Camarines Sur ang tinukoy ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) na delikadong maapektuhan sa pagsabog ng Mt. Asog.

Partikular na inalerto ng Phivolcs ang mga bayan ng Buhi at Iriga City, na parehong nasa paanan ng Mt. Asog, na ayon sa ahensiya ay kasalukuyang nagpapakita ng abnormalidad.

Kinumpirma sa report na isinumite sa Office of Civil Defense ni Ed Laguerta, chief volcanologist, na nadiskubre ang tatlong fault line at isang crater sa Mt. Asog.

Agad namang pinakilos ni National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Benito Ramos ang kanyang mga tauhan para paghandaan ang posibleng paglilikas sa mga residente.

Tiniyak naman ng pamahalaang lokal ng Iriga City, sa pangunguna ni Mayor Madeline Alfelor-Gazmen, na nakahanda ang rescue team ng pamahalaang lungsod para alalayan ang mga posibleng maaapektuhan ng kalamidad.

Kinumpirma rin ni Buhi Mayor Rey Lacoste na nagsanay na sila sa mga gagawin sakaling sumabog ang bulkan.

Nabatid na huling pumutok ang Mt. Asog noong ikaanim na siglo, at sa pagsabog ay nalikha ang kinagigiliwang Lake Buhi, na kabilang sa mga dinadayo ng mga turista sa Camarines Sur.

Garo ako lang nakakaaram digdi, ako lang kaya sige check sa facebook. So far, this morning, noone knew of this news report. The people in our resto was even thinking i was just kidding them. :D

I hope though this is just some kind of a fallable news report just so there will be some news. :). Aram ta man kaya minsan exag man ang mga government agencies. But then again, nothing beats to proper preparedness. Lalo na kami. Our house is just at the foot of mt. Asog. :)

Chavez, giving more veracity to rumors that the popular actor may run for Congressman in 2013 polls against Wimpy Fuentebella, son of Congressman Arnulfo “Noli” Fuentebella in the province’s Fourth District.

Aga’s visit was the second within a month, after he sponsored the mass wedding of 216 unwed couples in San Jose in middle of February, this year. With Aga as wedding sponsors are Governor Villafuerte and Mayor Chavez, a ceremony that forged their alliances closely as “compadres”- a socio-cultural pact of bond and mutual friendship. During the mass wedding, which was witnessed by thousands of fans and constituents, the three sponsors gave the newly-weds gifts.

The mass wedding appearance of Aga in February has started rumors he is planning to run for Congressman at Partido 4th District, the political fiefdom of the Fuentebellas. Reports went around that early in January, the actor registered as voter in San Jose, – a move to meet up Commission on Election ruling that a candidate must be a resident in the area months before the coming election. An old ancestral house of a distant relative is being renovated in the town to serve as Aga’s residence.

The rumors about Aga’s bid for Congress next year is spreading out like wildfire. However wild it is, the news has brought jubilation among anti-Fuentebella groups who have been waiting for a political messiah who would give the Partido district deliverance from 100 years of political fiefdom and psychological slavery.

The same news also brought some jitters among pro-Fuentebella camps who believe that their 100 years of living in paradise of political patronage, favors, government contracts and padrino system might come to an end.

The Fuentebellas claimed that they have been in power for 100 years in the province, a claim considered by critics as “form of political dynasty”. Evelyn Fuentebella, the wife of Congressman Fuentebella, is mayor of Sangay town, while their son, Arnie, is mayor of Tigaon. The Fuentebellas have other children, who are all growing up and being groomed for politics.

Now, with failing health, Congressman Fuentebella made a move in Congress to carve up his district into a separate province, his dream of Nueva Camarines province. The move to cut Camarines Sur into two has sparked resistance among affected sectors that the move will provide political positions and jobs to the other Fuentebellas. Critics claim that with a new-formed province, new positions for a governor, vice-governor, board members, congressman, and other lucrative post are up for grabs.

This Fuentebella gambit has soured up his alliance with Governor Villafuerte, an alliance tagged earlier as “unholy and temporary alliance”. The Villafuertes and the Fuentebellas had been at odds with each other in provincial politics.

The congressional bill to create a new province has been stalled in the Senate which is busy on the impeachment trial of Supreme Court Justice Corona.

Among anti-Fuentebella groups, Aga Muhlach is the best match against Wimpy Fuentebella, the chosen one and son of Congressman Fuentebella. The elder Fuentebella is now on his last term in office. He has been a Congressman for 18 years, serving in two terms of nine years each.

Aga Muhlach comes from the Muhlach family in Goa. The family had migrated to Manila in the late 1950’s. Amalia Fuentes, the former Queen of Fiipino Cinema in the 1960’s and 70’s, belonged to the Muhlach family.

Yup! robust construction along Magsaysay!

Also, pass by the Diversion and indeed there is a construction on the site pointed by Doc and Garzland as the site of the 5th Mcdo in the City.

If you're going to count all the restos at the strip of Magsaysay IMO it equals or even double the number of food outlets present at SM City Naga.

Also, pass by the Diversion and indeed there is a construction on the site pointed by Doc and Garzland as the site of the 5th Mcdo in the City.

If you're going to count all the restos at the strip of Magsaysay IMO it equals or even double the number of food outlets present at SM City Naga.

That is true. There are even more choices in Magsaysay than in SM City. Restaurants from Manila and even international brands not found anywhere else in the region converged in Magsaysay making it a unique dining destination in Bicol.

Starbucks, Kopi Roti, The Coffee Beanery, Yellow Cab and Carlo's Pizza to name a few- they are all here in Magsaysay.

That is right.

There has been no official word about Robinson’s Naga from company itself. Our three main sources of information are very reliable but they do not represent the company.

Mr. EFM, of RLC (I mentioned his name in my past posts and given his number to some of the SSC Forumers when they were scouting for a lot in Naga City) said that they already turned over the property to Robinson’s Mall. Whatever they will do with it is up to for that division. But he was very specific when I talked to him a month ago “Pag dinumpingan na ‘yan at binakuran ng light brown GI Sheet- tuloy tuloy na ‘yan.”

They are now dumping, but I don’t see the fences yet. Let’s wait and see for a few more weeks (or months?)

The Robinsons AVP for Mall Operations was the former Pacific Mall Manager has already revealed to a kababayan and a kabarkada RR (Pacific Mall Head accountant, I also mentioned her name in my previous posts) that Robinson’s Naga is scheduled for 2013. She is even recruiting her to join the Naga group.

Robinson’s Naga Supermarket Manager whom I talked to few weeks ago said the they were already told by the Management that Naga would be having a full scale Robinson’s Mall in 2013 and assured them that they are not closing the Robinson’s Supermarket in Centro.

So far aside from dumping- I do not see other signs yet.

But it’s a positive sign.

Joylong will open in Naga this year. They've already donated a service vehicle for Naga last year.

That's what I know that they already gave a service vehicle last year. I thought they were to open a dealership here in an instant. :)

Also, a senior consultant of JG Summit whom I interviewed last week in Manila verified all the details and concluded that Robinsons "will have a strong presence here in Bicol starting this year"

CARAMOAN, CAMARINES SUR—If there’s one thing that makes island-hopping in Caramoan unique and interesting, it would be the lesson or two you learn at every stop.

Caramoan is famous for its countless islands and white sand bars enveloped by the clearest turquoise waters and protected by towering limestone formations.

No wonder different productions of Survivor from Europe have been coming back to Caramoan, which is at the heart of the Caramoan Peninsula.

It is also for its remoteness and untouched beauty that Caramoan islands gained the title “Secret Paradise.” Thanks to tour packages offered by local operators, guests can now enjoy the island at cheaper rates.

The town can be reached via a two-hour ride on a local outrigger boat (or banca) from either Sabang or San Jose port from the mainland. Most of these boats are so small you have to yank yourself to get out.

So look out for M/V Harry trips as these are the biggest and thus, offer more comfort and a smoother ride for seasick travelers.

As the common route of typhoons, patrolling coast guards would occasionally cancel trips and when they do lift their travel alerts, the boat ride usually extends to at least three to four hours more, depending on the strength of the currents and the number of passengers aboard.

Porters anxiously await arriving guests at the Guijalo Port, the gateway to central Caramoan. To avoid delay, have your tour guide arrange a tricycle ride to take you to your hotel. To better appreciate local culture, we opted for home stay accommodation.

Typically, island tours in Caramoan start as early as 7a.m. Our tour guide Genaro Galang laid out for us a day tour to five islands: Matukad, Lahus, Cagbalinad, Minalahus and Sabitang-Laya.

From the town’s center, we took a ten-minute tricycle ride to the port of the seaweed-rich Barangay Bical. It took another 20-minute boat ride from the port to our first stop but the waters were calm and the view we saw after that was worth the long trip.

So what can you expect to see on these islands? Here's a quick summary of the tour.

Matukad Island. Pray that your visit to this island does not coincide with Survivor tapings (there was word that Survivor will be back for tapings in 2012). During tapings, swimming will be prohibited and your stay will be cut short. This would be unfortunate given you are there to experience the powdery white sand, the clearest and bluest water in its beautiful lagoon.

Lahus Island. This one is the most unique for its natural structure. Lahus means “passing through,” which exactly describes how the body of sand is sandwiched by two giant rock formations. This allows swimming in both sides of the island. Props made by locals and used for Survivor challenges are also added attractions.

Cagbalinad Island. This is a favorite among researchers and geologists for its biodiversity. It is also rich in corals and has the most intricate limestone formations of the five islands. Look out for the huge limestone boulder perched right at its middle.

Minalahus Island. Again, referring to local meaning of its root word lahus, this island has a direct access point to neighboring islands without having to ride a boat. It has clear waters but due to frequent aya-ay (low tide), visits to this island are limited.

Sabitang-Laya. It is common for island hopping tours to end here. It is a V-shaped island with wide stretches of sand of both sides that offer a scenic place where visitors can eat lunch before heading home. Unfortunately, due to Survivor tapings when we visited, we were unable to check out the other side of the island.

With or without restrictions, it is simply impossible not to make another visit to Caramoan. It is best to visit the islands sooner since its starting to attract more tourists and property developers.

Hopefully, the local government and visitors can help keep Caramoan and its islands as beautiful and as enchanting as they are now.

Upon the recommendation of the Council of Administrators, the Ateneo de Naga University Board of Trustees in its meeting of 18 February 2012 unanimously approved the creation of Ateneo de Naga University Innovation Center (Ai). The Ai was conceptualized and proposed by Mr. Magno Edilberto Conag III, Faculty Member of Digital Arts and Computer Animation Department and Dr. Allan Sioson, Dean of the College of Computer Studies. It aims at achieving the following goals: (1) to establish a laboratory for the stimulation, incubation, and commercialization of technology-based ideas; (2) to establish an office for handling linkages, partnerships, and collaborations with technology companies, venture capitalists, and similar entities; and (3) to promote a culture of “geek creativity” towards technology entrepreneurship.

The Ai, which shall be under the Office of the President, had its soft-launching yesterday, March 12, 2012 at the Coko Café, Madrigal Building for Social Entrepreneurship. The event was attended by university officials and representatives from the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce. Fr. Primitivo Viray Jr., S.J., President, Dr. Allan Sioson, Dean, College of Computer Studies, and Mr. Magno Edilberto Conag III, Faculty Member, Digital Arts and Computer Animation Department, delivered their respective messages.

As much as I admire the governor for what he had done to CamSur, I think he should avoid giving statments like this as he gives an impression that he could buy everything.

I would vote for his son (not becuase he is rich) as I believe he would be his son's keeper should he win the election and I'm assured that he would conytinue his father legacy of progress.

But let the money do the talking- not him.

Also, pass by the Diversion and indeed there is a construction on the site pointed by Doc and Garzland as the site of the 5th Mcdo in the City.

If you're going to count all the restos at the strip of Magsaysay IMO it equals or even double the number of food outlets present at SM City Naga.

As much as I admire the governor for what he had done to CamSur, I think he should avoid giving statments like this as he gives an impression that he could buy everything.

I would vote for his son (not becuase he is rich) as I believe he would be his son's keeper should he win the election and I'm assured that he would conytinue his father legacy of progress.

Money talks- that is right.

But let the money do the talking- not him.

Also, had a chat with a staff of a City Councilor a while ago and mentioned that City is NOT receiving any real property tax from SM City Naga (only mayors permit, sanitary permit, etc). This is part of the tax incentive given by the City to SM and also the City will NOT ALLOW any BIG MALL operator to operate for the coming 5 years to give SM a breather of their expenses (750M) incurred during the construction. SM City Naga has been operating for 4 years and next year, the City can now accept any MALL operator to invest here in Naga.

Now the real thing.

It was mentioned here that Robinsons will operate in Naga next year 2013 also with Shopwise at Panganiban.

Puregold Diversion and Puregold Centro are just acquired and AFAIK they are just renting at ALDP Mall and LBRDC.

So, what you think guys? are we expecting another BIG mall here in Naga next year?

our metro naga sports complex is still the most well maintained sports complex in the region.

masiram magpasyar pasyar dyan.. lalo na paghapon ta malimpoy asin maduros. :)
