Why they were on foot?
They should not be allowed to run on foot. This is already a regional meet. The winners are supposed to go to national competitions. I don't think this is allowed at the national level.

Actor starts making presence felt in Camarines Sur
Aga Muhlach’s registration as voter seen as preparation for polls
By Juan Escandor Jr.
Inquirer Southern Luzon
10:20 pm | Wednesday, March 21st, 2012
PILI, Camarines Sur—Aga Muhlach, one of the most recognizable faces in Philippine show business, caused a stir in the fourth district of the province after he registered as a voter there last Monday.
At dinner hosted by the governor, Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte, Muhlach said while he registered as a voter in San Jose, Camarines Sur, he was keeping mum on whether or not he was running for a seat in the House to represent the province’s fourth district, long held by the Fuentebella clan.
The dinner hosted for Muhlach, however, had all the trimmings of a political event. Aside from the governor, Vice Gov. Fortunato Peña and other local officials were present.
The country’s election laws require candidates to be registered voters and residents for at least six months of the place where they would seek election to public office.
Muhlach said his father, who belonged to the Amador and Borja clans, traces his roots in the towns of Goa and San Jose.

A passerby told me that the lot is owned by the Rodriguez but as to what construction will unfold he gave me no clue.
Also, aside from Metrobank and DAR to open at Robertson commercial building, SANYO will also occupy a section of the building. Called up the phone number posted at their signage and told me that another building will be constructed at the back.

Cousin's rivalry even in Survey... Robredo and L-Ray ranked 50-73 in the latest Pulse Asia survey. I think this is the reason why Lray is eying the seat of Dato after floating the idea of running in the Senate. Robredo... why not in House of Representative too?

wow! truly an economic power house of bicol! numbers don't lie. :)
with those numbers and present high purchasing power of Naguenos, the average number of bank accounts per Nagueno might be 2 or 3, depending on their status and business. :) the tendency is, their money is distributed to different banks since they have many options. And since PDIC insurance is up to 200,000, people will just open a bank account and maintain the 200,000 maximum deposit. And they will open another account to a different bank and maintain the PDIC insured deposit. :) Naguenos are wise. With the several banks that closed, they already learned. They will not put all their money in one bank. Never!
and maybe that's the reason why we have many banks here in CamSur, especially in Naga. People can put their money to different banks which can sustain the strong banking industry in Naga.:banana:

NAGA, CAMARINES SUR- No, it has nothing to do with anything illegal. In fact, the Black Market is a famous go-to destination for locals looking for items they probably would not find in conventional shopping malls.
Benjie Lucena set up Black Market barely two years ago. For someone who has practically tried almost any business he can think of, Benjie considers this one his pet project.Read more (http://loqal.ph/business-and-finance/2012/03/21/in-naga-find-some-cheap-but-hip-second-hand-items-at-the-black-market/)

;89695338']Napurbaran sana na bako man yan sa quantity (padarakulan blah blah) kundi sa quality (kung pira ang deposits) hehe.
It's time to flex our (economic) muscles.
Showed the above posts this afternoon to a banker friend (who is the regional loan officer of a bank with one most number of branches in Naga City).
It is sad that this was causing a lot of flak against Naga and CamSur again whose only fault is having the most number of banks in the Bicol Region. Do we deserve to get insulted just because of that reality?
Yes, that data is true but it is a PDIC date showing the deposits that was insured at a maximum of 1 or 2 million per account (I forgot the amount, it used to be 200,000 only- I’ll ask my wife regarding the new PDIC insurance limit:)). There are other deposits that are more than the maximum insurable amount that would not be reflected on the data.
PDIC record does not include the accounts that reached the insurance limits. In fact those reflected at the PDIC are the small depositors that is within the PDIC insured limit. It does not include the big accounts, bonds and stocks whatever that means.
Deposits also are not the sole source of income and investment of a bank. Naga City having the most number of car dealers, most number of local and national land developers, giant industries like San Miguel, Asia Brewery, CDO, Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola and SM Prime to name a few, the said PDIC insured deposit is just a fraction of the bank income.
Central Bank apparently has the say to the status of the banking industry and the they have been giving positive anf favourable reviews of the banking climate in Naga and Camsur.
Besides why would they open multiple branches in Naga City alone if there was not enough income to sustain them?
He said the latest count of existing bank in the City is about 44.
One of the highest in South Luzon.
I really agonized over posting this response, but we have to defend ourselves from further bullying.

PDIC does not have the record of included of the accounts that reached the insurance limits. In fact those reflected at the PDIC are the small depositors that is within the PDIC insured limit. It does not include the big accounts, bonds and stocks whatever that means.
Deposits also is not the sole source of income of the bank. Naga City having the most number of car dealers, most number of local and national land developers, giant industries like San Miguel, Asia Brewery, CDO, Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola and SM Prime to name a few, the said PDIC insured deposit is just a fraction of the bank income.
Central Bank apparently has the say to the status of the banking industry and the they have beein giving positive an favourable reviews of the banking climate in Naga and Camsur.
Besides why would they would multiple branches in Naga City alone if there was not enough income to sustain them?
He said the latest count of existing bank in the City is about 44.

I really agonized over posting this resonse, but we have to defend ourselves from further bullying.
With all due respect but I think people of either cities have felt being bullied by those of the other, in one way or another. And I think it's not even "bullying" in my opinion. It's just that we have to accept the fact that the Cities of Naga and Legazpi are indeed arch-rivals when it comes to many things.
People of both cities have posted things that offend the other's sensibilities. I mean, come on. As an observer and as a forumer, I've seen that come and go for so many times now. It isn't as if it's still new today...

Is this infront of Geewan Centro pao?
Also there are tarps around the city about the third Caramel Bakeshop opening in E- Mall.
It is heartening to note that this Bakeshop that orignated from Daet has mushroomed in the city and has now three branches after 3 years of operating at SM City Naga.
Much more branches than in their hometown (no camparison intended).

Sir, I am not reacting to his explanation with regard to PDIC's report. I'm merely reacting to his statement re "bullying."

wow! truly an economic power house of bicol! numbers don't lie. :)
with those numbers and present high purchasing power of Naguenos, the average number of bank accounts per Nagueno might be 2 or 3, depending on their status and business.
First of all, I posted this data at Bicol and Legazpi thread for the information of the Bicolano forumers and just like all data it is open to interpretation.
Thanks for the interpretation Naga Boy and akosijamir. Admittedly Naga has the most banks in Bicol and the data supports that. I don't know what flak your talking about Sir Naga Boy as nobody is contradicting that Naga has the most banks.
As I said the data is open for interpretation and whatever interpretation it is should be respected including the interpretation of Albay forumers. Insult? What's your basis?
As to your statement that Naga has the most car dealerships and the big time companies, what is the relevance of that to my post? It is a physical fact that Naga has the most number of big time companies thanks to good governance that was pioneered by former Mayor Jesse Robredo whom I admire as a local executive.
Aside from good governance, in my opinion, Naga became an economic powerhouse because of it's strategic location in Cam Sur. Naga is geographically the center of Camsur.
As to the deposits not being the sole source of income, your right and i am not disputing that. But my purpose for posting the data is not to know the income of the people but to know the banking profile of bicol specifically Albay.
The records of the PDIC are the total domestic records. Read the source please. That includes those that deposited amounts in excess of the maximum insurable amount
FYI the maximum insurable amount is now 500,000.
to akosijamir, that's good for Naguenos. How about the rest of the people from Camsur? More banks means more choices and Naga has that.

The deposits in the PDIC can be any kind of deposit. It can be from the largest company depositors to the simplest farmer. Please refer to the breakdown of the depsits here (http://www.pdic.gov.ph/files/BSDStats/DDD_PBS_ProvinceMunicipality.htm)

Jose Dayao, the DA regional executive director, said farm mechanization is meant to modernize agriculture and minimize post harvest losses.
“We have increased our target in procuring farm machineries and equipment like hand tractors, palay threshers and seed cleaners that we distribute to organized groups of farmers in the region,” he said.
Farmers, he explained, when provided with the appropriate support mechanism will in turn produce more and will continue to be DA’s partner in its programs and projects like the Agri-Pinoy.

RIVER CRUISE. Shown above is an artist’s sketch of a ferry boat prepared by city hall in a bid to make the Naga River a functional tourist conveyance and attraction.
NAGA CITY --- The city government here will be better off pursuing a two-phased implementation of its Riverwalk project, the newly completed pre-feasibility study (PFS) for the Integrated Naga River Revitalization Project (iNRRP) shows.
With funding from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA), the consulting team from Icon Institut recently presented the highlights of the PFS to a multisectoral audience last February 22 at the Villa Caceres Hotel.
Alistair Blunt, PFS team leader, highlighted in his presentation five options for the Riverwalk, one of the major components of the iNRRP, one of which was drawn from the 2010 Salog Kan Buhay conceptual design competition sponsored by the city. The winning design concept formed the basis for one of the options considered.
These options are:
The “Do nothing concept’’ or leaving the market to determine what improvements were made along the river.
The “River Route concept” a development of a river walk that avoided areas where there were problems and objections and provided an alternative route around these obstacles.

By Shiena M. Barrameda
NAGA CITY --- Construction contractors who are applying for new licenses or renewal of their old one have been experiencing speedier processes and procedures by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here.
Since January of this year, DTI started implementing a modified process for the approval of such applications from contractors, said Jay T. Ablan, DTI Camarines Sur spokesman.
Ablan particularly stressed that they are now campaigning for the stricter implementation of Republic Act 4566 (Contractor’s License Law) in consonance with an advisory issued by the DTI central office last March 16.
In order to encourage contractors to renew or apply for their licenses, the DTI provincial office will accept both new and renewal applications for pre- screening and initial evaluation for more accessibility to contractors before endorsing them to the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) for approval and licensing.

By Shiena M. Barrameda
NAGA CITY --- In order to provide more access to clients and business establishments in need of assistance, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Camarines Sur has decided to extend availability of its lines to the public for twenty hours in all seven days of the week starting this year.
Jay T. Ablan, DTI Camarines Sur spokesman, said that its regular mobile phone line and landline are now open to receive calls from clients every day, round-the-clock.
He explained that this is to bring DTI and the services it offers closer to citizens who might be in need of vital information in building their own businesses or might have complaints against erring establishments that the DTI has jurisdiction over
“Aside from extending the time of availability of our hotlines, we have also opened new accounts in social networks,” Ablan said. “This is because we recognize the popularity and influence that social networks have. It has a wider reach and is easy to use.”
Ablan explained that the DTI accounts on Facebook (facebook.com/DTICamSur) and Tweeter (twitter.com/DTICamSur) were created to cater to clients who may not able to visit their office here in Panganiban Drive, Naga City or call the hotlines due to time or work constraints.

garzland March 23rd, 2012, 11:22 AM Hahahah... Di ba? Hindi mawawala ang comparison between these two rival cities! Hahahah... It's in fact a good thing because this drives politicians to work hard for their respective LGUs. Well, I think, that's what's happening now, as far as my observation goes...
100% agree.. Look at CamSur and Albay.. Gov. Salceda has so much eagerness to run Albay properly because of friendly competition with CamSur (admit it or not, Gov. Salceda is affected positively also by Gov. Lray based on his comments to CamSur more than any other provinces in Bicol :D)
In short, comparison really brings good things to LGUs...Who wants to be left behind anyway...

Seems huge.. It could only mean that Robinsons is the potential owner of this huge lot...A huge area is only meant for a mall...

When I saw this post and visited their webpage
I got hungry with what they are offering.
So I called home and instructed not to cook anymore
as I told them I'd bring RBX dinner home.
I was not able to find any parking space
in Rice in a Box Centro
so off I went to Puregold Mall foodcourt....

The mangrove plantation/rehabilitation in Calabanga, Camarines Sur should be well appreciated and supported.
Everyone should be aware that mangrove ecosystems offer a variety of important economic and environmental services particularly to communities around them. They serve as breeding grounds and nurseries of coastal and marine fisheries and other organisms. Commercial seafood species depend for part of their life cycle on detritus food chain generated by these complex mangrove ecosystems. They are also sources of raw materials for construction, furniture production, dyes, as well as for energy from fuelwood and charcoal produced from the mangrove forests. They also provide habitat for a number of wildlife and serve as roosting place for migratory birds. Ecotourism is an important economic service that mangroves can provide under managed conditions.
A new study reveals that the world's coastal mangrove forests are capable of storing four times more carbon than nearly any other type of forests on Earth and can mitigate climate change significantly.
In addition, mangrove forests in these ecosystems cushion the impacts of storm surges, typhoons, tsunamis, and other natural disasters on adjacent terrestrial communities and ecosystems.
This specific mangrove project is part of the community’s disaster risk reduction and mitigation plan and a key measure undertaken by the community so it could have a natural buffer against storm surges. Sendong’s impact could have been mitigated to a large extent if mangroves in the coastal areas of CDO and Iligan cities have this forest type in their coastal areas to lessen impacts of storm surges and typhoons. More lives could have been saved.

bobbymay74 March 23rd, 2012, 03:58 PM wow! truly an economic power house of bicol! numbers don't lie. :)
and maybe that's the reason why we have many banks here in CamSur, especially in Naga. People can put their money to different banks which can sustain the strong banking industry in Naga.:banana:
Please prevent comparisons from other city or provinces. I have noted this last time i post the data of banks.
The effort of posting all the banks is not only to inform the public viewers in this thread but
1. Guide visitors when they visited our province and cities when they intend to transact in our locality like withdrawal or deposit.
2. Offer banking services to investors/ businesses to a specific location.
3. Again this data is not intended to compare to other cities/provinces to annoy them.
to akosijamir, that's good for Naguenos. How about the rest of the people from Camsur? More banks means more choices and Naga has that.
:cheers::cheers::cheers:
First of all. Naga City is a melting pot of all Bicolanos and non-Bicolanos. Probably the original Naguenos would be a very small percentage. Like the Abellas, it's quite hard to detect the old resident anymore.
2. Naga banks doesn't mean Naga depositors only, there is a large percentage of Camarines clients , and also a medium number of Bicolanos outside Camarines Sur, but a growing number of Manila base clients. Banks are intended as a service to all either your from within Naga City or outside.
