View Full Version : 'Age of Love' TV reality show building
Limited Edition September 10th, 2007, 09:30 AM Hello,
Recently, there was a TV dating reality show on NBC 'Age of Love' http://www.nbc.com/Age_of_Love/ which was shot in LA. For those who watched it, I was wondering if you could spot the name of the building in which this show was filmed?
I have never been to LA and I don't know the names of the building, but I am curious in doing some research on it.
Thanks!

I see Australia's Skyline but no L.A.!

That skyscraper in Los Angeles where Age of Love was produced is on Wilshire Blvd just West of the Harbor Freeway. I remember seeing it under construction in the mid-80's when I lived in Los Angeles a few blocks away from it. There was a sign on the top with the letters WTC (I think).

Yes, it is. I know because my girl was constantly tuning in to watch that show. I recall seeing the rooftop pool scene with the camera panning over and you could see Downtown, Staples Center and the 101 Harbor Freeway to the East. What other building in City West could've afford that rooftop panorama, other than 1100 Wilshire?

Ferney, I believe what's pictured here is the TW Tower. Someone correct if I'm wrong.

Thank You!
That appears to be it from the upper portion! I don't recall seeing the lower portion being completely in a different style. I suppose that is where the 'roof' top pool is located where they filmed the entry of the 20's episode. What kind of history is there to this building? Care to share...
To Yamoto,
To answer your question, it was down to the eldest 40's women; Jennfer, which was 48 years young versus; Amanda, 26, that was chosen.
Does anyone know what the main purpose of this building is? business/commercial? hotel/suites?
Apparently, the website seems to be down from my search and the link provided. :ohno:

1100 Wilshire was built in 1986 as an office tower. It was famously unsuccessfull as a office tower for many reasons:
-The owner of the building was a electic Taiwanese businessman who charged an extreme amount of rent that no one could afford.
-Despite being in downtown, it was pretty isolated from the rest of the financial center.
-Driving up the 15 story parking garage made many people dizzy.
-It's triangular shape isn't well suited for an office building.
It was never more than 20% occupied and it was fully emptied in 1994. It sat empty and dark until 2003 when it was decided to be the tallest condo conversion in downtown LA. Old blueprints of the US Bank Tower was found in 1100 Wilshire. I love this building. It's awesome.
