I have heard Emirates, Qatar and kuwait airlines are planning to operate flights in Chittagong too. Does anyone know when they are going to offer flights from Chittagong?

Do you have any idea as to what is the approximate expatriate Bangladeshi population in Germany? I wonder why is it that no other european airline other than BA, fly to Bangladesh. If the demand is thers, then the expats ought lobby european carriers to serve Dhaka (or CGP).

I really don't know the exact figure. It must be in between 30,000 to 50,000.
Biman stopped flying from last August 2006. I don't think, it would be lucrative for european carriers other than BA. You know there are big number of passengers from Middle east to Bangladesh. There are lot of passengers from Germany to Middle east. So you can expect something (flight to Chittagong) from middle eastern carriers.

Great to hear! If you are able, would you take some Chittagong pics for us? Good pics of modern developments outside Dhaka in Bangladesh are very hard to come by. Our own Mirza Zeehan went to Chittagong earlier this year and took some great pics, but such photos are few and far between.

As for me...I live in the US...I may be able to go this December but that's not at all decided yet. But if not this year, then very likely December '08.
