Vision
The Mochtar Riady Comprehensive Cancer Centre (MRCCC) will be the most fully equipped cancer centre in Indonesia, able to treat a wide range of cancer types. Dr Mochtar Riady said the vision for the MRCCC is to “provide international standard private cancer and specialist hospital in central Jakarta” using state of the art equipment that incorporates the latest generation in smart IT systems.

Introduction

Nearly 800,000 people are afflicted with various forms of cancer every year in Indonesia. The MRCCC will be the first private cancer centre in Indonesia and will provide break-through therapies for early detection and treatment of cancer including Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanning, High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), and Radio-immunotherapy (RIT).

Siloam Hospitals is a division of Indonesia’s largest diversified property group, PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk, who are investing Rp. 4.6 trillion (US$500 million) over the next 5 to 10 years to expand the health care portfolio across Indonesia.

Siloam Hospitals is Indonesia’s premier private hospital group and the expansion strategy includes a combination of green-field (new) projects, redevelopment projects, acquisitions and mergers. Currently, Siloam Hospitals Group operates 4 hospitals and one specialist clinic in Indonesia and through this expansion plan will grow to 10 hospitals. This significant expansion will create around 4,000 new healthcare jobs ranging from doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other clinical staff as well as administrative staff.

To mark the commencement of this latest hospital project by Siloam, an official “ground breaking” ceremony was held at the construction site on 12 May 2007 attended by the Minister of Health, Minister of Education, and Coordinating Minister for Social Welfare, dignitaries from government departments including the MOH, hospital executives and other VIPs. Construction is due for completion in December 2008.

Indonesia’s Premier Cancer Care Centre

Siloam Hospitals Semanggi is a new 29-story, 210-bed specialist hospital, which incorporates the Mochtar Riady Comprehensive Cancer Centre (MRCCC) and will be located near Plaza Semanggi in central Jakarta. The building will be 29 stories high and the total floor area of the new hospital is 53,000m2.

The MRCCC will be the first facility in Indonesia to offer Radio-immunotherapy (RIT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanning. These break-through therapies are at the forefront of cancer treatment and cancer diagnostics globally. Amongst the other firsts for the MRCCC are palliative care & oncology wellness, a preventative focus through health screening, high intensity focused ultrasound therapy (HIFU), brachytherapy and radio - immunotherapy, molecular imaging with cyclotron, PET/CT and SPECT/CT, in-house clinical trials and research facilities and integrated IT and PACS/RIS. We also hope to develop at the MRCCC training in medical oncology, radiation therapy, cancer imaging and surgical oncology.

Cancer is the leading cause of death in many South East Asian countries. In Indonesia it is now ranked as the sixth leading cause of death. Accurate cancer incidence and prevalence rates in Indonesia are not available; however as with other countries in the region and around the world there is an increasing incidence of this disease. With improving standards of living and an increase in life expectancy cancer will become one of the major, if not the major cause of death in Indonesia in the future.

Despite this burgeoning epidemic cancer services are lacking in Indonesia. Only a few hospitals provide radiation services in Java. Some treatments such as Radio immunotherapy (RIT) and High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) therapy are at present not provided due to lack of facilities and expertise. No facility in Indonesia currently provides Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging for early cancer detection, and this has lead to a substantial number of Indonesians seeking medical advice and treatment in other countries such as Singapore, Australia and the United States. The rise in cancer incidence around the globe has driven improvements in cancer diagnostics, cancer therapies and in many instances cancer outcomes. Improvements in survival are now possible with early diagnosis and modern treatments.

Siloam Hospitals will be able to effectively meet the needs of future patients’ through world best practice in cancer service provision with the construction of Siloam Hospitals Semanggi and the Mochtar Riady Comprehensive Cancer Centre

Siloam Hospitals Semanggi & MRCCC will be a 210 bed specialist hospital offering
therapeutic facilities such as:
• Radiotherapy
• Brachytherapy
• High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) therapy
• Radionuclide therapy including RIT and radiopeptide therapy
• Chemotherapy in a dedicated 11 bed chemotherapy suite
• Complementary Therapy and Wellness Centre
• Palliative therapy

It will also offer the latest in diagnostic services such as:
• PET/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) scanning
• Multislice CT
• High eld strength MRI
• Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography/CT (SPECT/CT) scanning
• Angiography

The hospital will also be one of the first in the region to run an integrated computerised and digital information system linking imaging, pathology, pharmacy and hospital IT services. This will speed up the efficiency and accuracy of service provision with the aim of not only improving the experience for patients but also facilitating faster diagnoses and improved outcomes. Modern IT systems will also help foster research and collaboration within the MRCCC.

On top of this Siloam Hospitals Semanggi and MRCCC will also be a highly developed functioning specialist hospital. To provide the best in Cancer Care requires specialized surgical, medical, allied health, education and research services. Thus a modern 5 theatre operating door has been planned as has separate medical procedure facilities for endoscopy, cystoscopy and bronchoscopy. A comprehensive intensive care unit (ICU)with associated high dependency and neonatal ICU will be provided to help with the
management of patients. There will be comfortable outpatient facilities catering for a variety of medical and allied health professionals. A well-equipped 7 bed emergency department will be also within the hospital to help both cancer and non-cancer patients.

Parking will be provided both on-site and offsite.

Tallest hospital in the southern Hemisphere

When completed, Siloam Hospitals Semanggi, incorporating the MRCCC, will be the tallest hospital in the southern hemisphere and one of the top ten tallest hospitals in the world. It will be a landmark for Jakarta in terms of its height and appearance and an icon for international standard cancer treatment in Asia.

The MRCCC will offer the latest and most comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic equipment available. It has been designed using the latest international (Australian) standards and utilising a team of experts in cancer hospital design and construction from Indonesia, Australia and Singapore. Siloam Hospitals seeks to provide world best care and for cancer service provision in Indonesia and has forged formal collaborations with leading international institutions around the globe that will underpin its quality, training and development programs for its staff.

Accreditation

Once open, Siloam Hospitals Semanggi will submit itself to international accreditation by US based Joint Commission International (JCI) which is the foremost international hospital accreditation authority, having already accredited over 19,000 hospitals in the USA, and a growing number of hospitals in Asia. Siloam Hospitals Lippo Karawaci has already completed its accreditation process and is expected to be the first hospital in Indonesia to gain this prestigious accreditation.

It's "green" in a way that there are trees and so on, and supports the idea as a hospital..

Pertama, gedung yg tinggi untuk ukuran RS di Indonesia.

Kedua, luas tanah RS itu sempit, bagaimana dengan parkirnya? Apakah gedungnya sudah terintegrasi dalam satu bangunan dengan ruang parkir? Apalagi bagunannya terlihat ramping.

^^ Rumah Sakit umum aja ruangannya banyak kali om Varis..

belum ruang Operasi.. ruang laboratorium, medical CheckUp, ruang MRI/CT Scan,
ruang rawat jalan ( satu dokter spesialis satu ruangan ), ruang inap ( mungkin dari kelas 3 sampe VVIP.. ditambah ini khusus untuk penyakit kanker jadi nambah lagi ruang pemeriksaannya.. :D tambah lagi ruangan untuk dokter2, bos2, restoran, dll.. :D

kalo 10 lantai pertama buat parkir jadi sisa 19 lantai...

iya tinggi bgt nich kalo diliat dari satrio dan sudirman....sayang bgt hp gw lagi error memorynya jadinya ga bisa update lagi.....kalo pake kamera dr SSR ga keliatan kehalangan....yg gw bingung kok semua facadenya dari kaca...apa ga takut pasiennya ada yg lompat/terjatuh menembus kaca...soalnya ga ada dinding penahan disana....
