Hey guys,

Some of you may remember my trip that I was asking about. I spent 3 days in Indio for the Coachella Valley Music Festival, and 4 nights in LA. Here are some of the pics. I'm sure it's nothing you guys haven't see before, but oh well.

I hope to move to LA some time next year! Here's hoping!

Nice photos, but the "Welcome To Compton" sign was the most funny. You were probably driving from what I can tell. But I couldn't help myself and imagine a car full of white guys driving up, jumping out of the vehicle and running to take a picture. Then hurrying back in the car and take off before the gangters come. (lol)

Did you guys take the Gold Line to Pasadena?

LOL, I'm glad that you had a good time out in L.A., but what made you want to visit Compton? :lol:

In that case, you should roll with me next time... I'll introduce you to some of the locals. You know, get that full Compton experience. :nuts:

Well, one of the guys with us was brown. As we were getting around Crenshaw, I said to my brown friend "Man, you'd better ride shotgun. We need to add some colour to this vehicle."

Haha, and, yeah, the weirdest was driving around Crenshaw and East LA at night. On Crenshaw Blvd, I saw a black guy yelling/cursing at the cops as the LAPD car was stopped at a light. I found that to be entertaining.

Reminds me of that scene from "Training Day" where Denzel Washington catches these white kids in Compton buying drugs and he says to them "Then don't come down here again. I catch you down here again, I'ma take your vehicle. I'ma make you walk home. I'ma let the homeboys up the hill run a train on your girlfriend. You know what a train is, don't you?

Well...to be honest, it wasn't as intimidiating as I thought it would be. I think the media hypes it up. But, when we drove around those parts of LA, I reminded me and the guys that we shouldn't be naive about it either. Anyway, it was just another "place" to me. But... it was crazy to see the amount of homeless people in East LA.

Also, before getting to LAX to leave, I saw 2 homeless people at an intersection off the 405 off-ramp. Me and my friend both had 2 brand new sleeping bags from Walmart that he didn't even use, and I used mine for 3 nights. So, we decided to give them away. They really appreciated it. Also, after we crossed the street back to our vehicle, a guy asked us if we were from a Missionary. I said, "No. We're from Canada and we figured we didn't need to drag these with us the whole way home. These guys need it more." He really appreciated it too and expressed his thanks.

I don't know if there are homeless guys in Canada, but here in America It's not really a good idea to give these guys sleeping bags because other homeless guys are gonna beat the crap out of them and then steal the sleeping bags. That is if they haven't sold them yet to buy some crack.

The media does hype it up. They make it sound like you die as soon as you cross the city line. It's just a place that the rest of the U.S. isn't used to looking at and wouldn't understand how to live there.

Glad to hear you had a good time, and just wait until you really get out to see all the different sides of LA.

As far as Compton goes, it's NWA /Eazy-E. Just like no one really ever heard of Long Beach before Snoop.
