Good news!

The performance pledges formulated by government agencies will have to be accredited by a commission from 2009 onwards.

The Dispatch of the Secretary for the Administration and Justice on the principles of assessment of the accreditation of performance pledges was published in the Gazette yesterday (17 September).

In it, 14 items covering the planning, preparation and execution, feedback from citizens and improvements of the performance pledges will be assessed.

There are 42 government agencies currently implementing more than 500 performance pledges for services aimed at the public.

The Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) will hold sessions to explain to managers the new assessment regime.

Meanwhile, the dispatch to set up a new Consultative Council on Public Administration Reform was also published in the same issue of the Gazette.

The Council will replace the Public Administration Observatory, which was also extinct through the dispatch.
