1027 Wilshire Blvd.
Amidi Real Estate Group and the Central City Development Group have announced plans for a 52-story residential tower at 1027 Wilshire Blvd. in City West. Hamid Behdad, the former city adaptive reuse czar and president of CCDG, said the project would include 402 condominiums. The construction price of the glass and steel tower is estimated at $380 million; the 522,000-square-foot development would hold 890 parking spaces. Project officials hope to break ground in the first quarter of 2008 and expect construction to last 36 to 40 months. - Los Angeles Downtown News

Westsidelife September 23rd, 2007, 06:35 AM I'm not exactly sure as to whether or not this one is still proposed or has been approved. A while ago, it was speculated that this one was preparing for construction. It just might be, because if you go to Amidi's website and look up the status of 1027 Wilshire, you'll find that it says "Pre-Development" as opposed to "Entitlement", what it said earlier.
LosAngelesSportsFan September 23rd, 2007, 07:32 AM i think this one has a good chance of breaking ground, and possibly soon. it has a few well connected backers. i really like it too, different than most LA buildings.
milquetoast September 23rd, 2007, 11:01 AM Sleek, beautiful condominium design. Too skinny for office use, but great for residents!
phattonez September 23rd, 2007, 04:32 PM I hope that they change the design and put something better in the back instead of that parking lot.
TICONLA1 September 24th, 2007, 12:32 AM With everything i've heard about this one, it should be a go, it's just as to when.?
jchernin September 24th, 2007, 05:01 AM ooooh, nice and glassy. i like how the balconies get smaller as u go up
Fern~Fern* September 24th, 2007, 05:03 AM I like it's location and how it will expand the skyline on both sides of the 110. ^ Highrise Piping Man hope what you've heard is accurate and this puppy breaks ground by the first quarter of '08.
TICONLA1 September 24th, 2007, 07:50 AM I like the location of this one, it will dominate the Citywest skyline, and with the 1111 building half a block away, and 1100 across the street, a mini cluster of three 500 footers,
Oh hell yes.!!.... I'd love to see this in Citywest....!!!
Westsidelife September 24th, 2007, 09:12 AM I hope that they change the design and put something better in the back instead of that parking lot.
That parking structure is already there.
BEATSLIM September 26th, 2007, 12:28 AM i like this a lot
fridayinla September 27th, 2007, 09:35 AM 1027 is going to happen - this is Hamid Behdad's project! Several weeks ago I saw a drilling truck on site taking soil samples from underneath the asphalt. It was only there for a couple days but it is an indication that construction is on the way - which is expected to begin before end of the year.
Westsidelife January 12th, 2008, 03:55 AM 1027 Wilshire Developers Remain Optimistic, but Need Financing

Following up on our post earlier this week about the design refinements of the 1027 Wilshire (http://www.angelenic.com/downtown-general/redesigned-city-west-tower-wows-but-will-it-get-built/) tower in City West, we spoke to Central City Group Development (http://www.ccdg-la.com/) to get an update on the project.
As the story goes, ground-breaking has been pushed back until the third quarter of 2008 and funding is still up in the air. However, when asked whether they were confident to find a financial backer, we were told “absolutely.”
Furthermore, their faith in Downtown’s long-term residential market has not wavered, as the large scale of 1027 Wilshire is not expected to change or go rental.
The 52-story, 402-unit glass condominium project obtained entitlements in September 2006 and is currently in the plan check phase.

milquetoast February 29th, 2008, 03:43 AM Wow! Coming out of the woodwork! I don't blame you guys for being desperate for information, I am too. I thought I found a goldmine of data on current projects over on LA Downtown News, but I soon realized that their list was overly optimistic. 1027 Wilshire is one of the towers I'm watching with great interest.
Westsidelife February 29th, 2008, 07:58 AM ^ Really? I don't think it looks "Asian" at all.
cyguy February 29th, 2008, 10:59 AM I TOTALLY know what you mean, they're patently identical.

jessemh431 March 3rd, 2008, 10:41 AM Are you sure there's already a parking structure there? It seems as though there's only a lot. If there's only a lot, couldn't they just build an underground structure instead of above ground. It would look so much better.
phattonez March 4th, 2008, 12:24 AM It's already there.
soup or man May 21st, 2008, 05:52 PM Five new consultants have been hired as planning work continues on a 52-story residential tower at 1027 Wilshire Blvd. in City West, said Hamid Behdad, president of the Central City Development Group, which is partnering on the project with the Amidi Real Estate Group. Although the developers have not yet sought funding, Behdad said that, depending on market conditions, they hope to break ground by the end of the year. The 402-condominium development is valued at $300 million. Entitlements were secured in 2006, and the developers are now working on approvals for the building permit. Construction would take at least 36 months.
phattonez May 21st, 2008, 06:08 PM No way that this is actually breaking ground by the end of the year, but it always has been my favorite project. Finally something nice for City West and I just love the design of it. I really want this to break ground, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Westsidelife May 21st, 2008, 09:30 PM No bank is going to finance this project anytime soon.
BEATSLIM May 22nd, 2008, 03:20 AM well not right now but i have a good feeling about this projects future....
